Good Monday to all. Rainy day in the Buckeye State. Those Kentuckians keep pushing the rain up our way. But I still don't think we've had as much the last 2-3 months as some of you guys in the Bluegrass.

Checked the Indy 500 website this morning. Thinking of maybe going over one day for practice. Haven't been for a number of years. Actually, in a way, like it better than the race. At a practice session you could wander around and basically go anywhere you want. Can stand right behind the fence of the pits if you want. One year, my brother and I went with another friend and talked to a number of drivers just hanging around the pits while the crew worked on their cars to get them back on the track at a higher speed. One year we talked for probably an hour to John Menard, owner of Menard's and father to Paul of Nascar.
But, as with most things, looks like the Covid crap has changed things. Looked like only certain areas are available for seating, etc. And masks on at all times. So I may just stay home...wearing a mask when it's hot...balderdash!

Exactly. Why should someone not working have a say in things they're not helping fund. If you want a say in things, then get a job!
Agree 100% plus I've always thought it would be a good idea (will never happen) that property/home owners only can vote in local elections (property tax, bond issues, etc), and perhaps a minimum IQ for all elections.

Need to have an IQ test for those running for office.

"and perhaps a minimum IQ for all elections."...........this part here is what is so scary..........from the looks of things........this will eliminate the Democrats.......... 🙄

I agree and feel much the same about this societal lunacy. Alexithymia a new term for me. Not being afraid of new, but my Greek may be wanting but it didn't take the geek in me long to determine that it was likely psycho babble bs. Still, I should strive to relate to the confusion people feel, the needs they have and not so quick to judge the insanity of those sane enough to search for truth. Your take was fine and appreciated. I might have been a bit slow. I'm still not used to the inside outside upside down paradigm.
I don't tolerate stupidity well. I should try to be more understanding, but it is not worth the effort.

I know how you feel.

I usually have a better outlook upon waking up and getting to work. It hasn't returned this morning and I doubt it ever will. Perhaps that's a good thing.

Break's over. Back to the dark world
What is this "work" thing you speak of.......sounds depressing and dreadful.............also the waking part.......does that have to happen very early..............that sounds challenging......

So......last year I bought the Director a two wheel dbbl capacity wheelbarrow for Mother's Day.......her friends got all over for being unappreciative....I thought it was a great idea........she works a lot of hours and it is hard for her to keep her chores up.....the double capacity would help her do more.........so after a couple of days I thought I would bow down the the ladies that were on me so bad.......I went to Lowe's and bought her a new flat shovel, spade, garden hoe and rake........real nice ones too......fiberglass handles......the ladies were not pleased.......this year....I am going all out..........shooting the moon so to speak.......I am going to take her crappie fishing for the day........I am going to make our sandwiches, pack the drinks.......everything.......snacks.....the whole nine yards..........I hope this pleases the peanut gallery as I refer to them.....

Did a kitty touch you inappropriately?

If I remember correctly, today is Don's 58th anniversary.

Congratulations & Thank you for the Oasis

I wish I knew how to speak Rooster, I think I would be a lot smarter!!!!
Thank you. No secret. I'm not afraid of the truth at all and never complacent in discovery. You're doing fine knowing the truth sets you free and how it works for all. I was taught that, read it and then discovered it was correct more than once or twice. D powered oasis wisdom of men with long ears.

My father could not stand ignorance. He once told a man he could improve if he visited a public library and start reading. The man had been complaining that he had no chance in life because of where he was from.

My grandfather had a 4th grade education because if you were born in 1882 chances are the 4th grade was as high as you were getting in rural America. But he could read, write and cipher. In fact he taught me to cipher to the rule of three. My algebra teacher didn't know that.

When grandpa retired from the mines daddy gave him a complete set of the Encyclopedia Britannica. He start with A and dug in. It is one thing not to have a formal education. It is another thing to be ignorant. Nobody with a brain should be ignorant

I tell my kids how lucky they have it compared to myself back in the day. When I had to do a book report, I had to go to a library, use the card catalog and then research it. Now they can just Google it or find something about it on YouTube. Anything they want to know is at their fingertips in a matter of seconds.

My Dad quit school when he was in the 4th grade. Lived in rural Ky, but unlike many, his father, my G'father, was very well off (owned a very large amount of land...had a huge house in the country on one of the farms, as well as another 3 story house in town). So it wasn't because they were poor. I guess he just didn't like school...liked farming. Had about 7 or 8 siblings who were all college grads...which was quite a feat in the 20s, 30s.
But my Dad was intelligent in a non-book way. Very hard worker up to the day he died (had a heart attack using his snowblower doing 5 or 6 neighbors driveways). He worked his way up to a corporate position and had an honorary degree/certificate from a major university.
So when people who have God given intelligence, health, and common sense cry and complain that the 'man' is screwing them, or they can't get ahead and then have their hand out for a gov't check......I have no sympathy.

When you see that out stretched hand you can usually spot lazy behind it......not always.....but most of the time.....my neighbor's sister stated that she would get a job when Jesus told her to.........she sold half of her food stamps every month to purchase weed......she died at 62 and never worked a day in her life.......

Why do YOU have make the sandwiches and pack the drinks and snacks? Doesn't seem fair.

I see beggar's here that have their own begging territory. The very old and children I will do about anything to assist them. An able-bodied man begging I have no remorse passing him. After I got out of the Army about two months later (I had a job but got let go as my knee gave out and I had to have surgery due to an Army injury.)(I knew nothing about employment or unemployment laws and didn't care to know.) After surgery I had nothing but an old car, a Pontiac, and some clothes. (I forget what model it was but it was a gas guzzler but it ran well and was mine.). It was all I could do to keep gas in my car so when I pulled it up one of those mountain roads to sleep, I could start it once in a while to keep the frost off. I went down to 150 pounds. At 5'11" that was skinny. Used to be able to get 4 loaves of bread for a dollar back then. I could eat but... I had family but never once did I ever let any of them know the situation I was in, I kept myself clean, picked up cans, did odd jobs, whatever there was I always found something. Since I was 16 I always ate my own food, my children always ate my food. I am thankful for that. I know without a doubt that if I got to the same situation again I'd starve before I took a hand out. (Been there, done that. I don't think, I know...)

No duds I ever milked/ ate... still maybe those instead of a gizzard...
I was participant in some duck roundups and we all had to learn how to milk gizzards of the drunk ducks to remove the Wonderbread laced with barbiturates before their relocation. It worked but the rescue effort cost prohibitive. Shotgun Boogie with unleaded shot making much more cents.

I understand this is a new trend in some communities. Stand up at your funeral. This lady is as dead as dead can be. I am going to pass on this but to each his/her/trans/156 gender own.

This Ole World is passing me by day by day.

The lunatics are running things now... Not much better from the other party but at least a very few can be shamed...

That's just TMI. Got a Duck drunk and then danced with it??? (Do I need to read it again? 😁 )
