After you were positive did they make you quarantine for a certain number of days? The doctor or your employer?I was going to go back to work today, but they talked me into staying home one more day.
Glad to hear of your recovery. That is great news.Morning fellas
Feeling OK finally.
I was going to go back to work today, but they talked me into staying home one more day.
I didn't even watch the game on Sunday, the loss was not a surprise. I did pick the Cats to win in OldReds prediction contest. I still cant go against them. I'm gonna pick them to beat Kansas too...
All hail to the D...
I was a worse hippie than Democrat. Little bit of weekend weirdo.Damn hippies. They screw things up for everybody.

Ours was 10 days from the first sign of symptoms. After you were positive did they make you quarantine for a certain number of days? The doctor or your employer?
I've heard varying lengths of time. Like all of this you hear a different 'expert' say something different each day.
Not relative to your occupation, but I can relate. My dad, a dairy farmer, always said, if you can’t find something to do, you ain’t worth shit. Well, there’s always shit to scoop on a dairy farm. And I’ve scooped my share. We gave up the dairy about ten years ago, but I still miss it. Times change, but our hearts remain..
That makes two of us then. Visiting Scotland is on my bucket list of things I want to do.I almost forgot.. Yesterday was St Andrews Day. Happy belated St Andrews Day for those who have some Scottish blood. I have a whole bunch of it

Racist flag..... Has a white cross...
It is a real problem. It's happened here in my area. Especially smaller churches with an older congregation. Closed up for good. This is a real problem in the church world. Down here our churches remain strong but we have not had a government shut down. The churches have remained open and used caution by following the guidelines. I have been watching our services online and learned how to pay my tithes over the internet. They say it is secure. So far no problem.
If I had not had this cancer thing I would be in service but the doc cautioned me to take care until I get back close to 100%.
I am on the same track. I have a friend who lives in Drummore, Scotland on the coast about 12 miles across the channel from Northern Ireland. He sent me loads of information on my family heritage as our people originated there. We call ourself Scot-Irish but over there they are know as Ulster Scots. Ulster, Northern Ireland. We were scheduled to go on a group tour to England, Scotland and Ireland this past summer, and then the Covid hit. We were going to stay an extra week and take the high speed train under the channel, to Paris for a couple of days and fly out of there, back home. Didn't work out, but I'm hoping that a vaccine will solve this and we can go in the summer of 22, Lord willing.
Met an older man a few years ago in a bowling alley in Louisville who claimed to be Ali’s brother. Can’t remember his name, but he was a nice fellow. Had huge hands for his size. I could see a resemblance maybe. I believed him, but he could have been lying, who knows.Ali...
Just because it is a good video...
I think that was his then wife Veronica's Mom. I met her if I am not mistaken about her identity. Sure looks like her. I went to an insurance class with her in Louisville.

Our church has been blessed with a congregation that is pretty mixed. Most are older, but there a quite a few in the 25-35 range and younger, and quite a few in the over 35 range. We have been blessed by the Lord in that regard. Our church has grown smaller over the past few years. Ten years ago, we had 150 on an average Sunday. By the time that Covid hit, we were down to about 80-95 on an average Sunday. The trouble I see is that our congregation keeps getting older and people have gone into nursing homes, or passed on. We are not getting any younger families to join because our congregation, in getting older, don't associate that much with younger families. The other reason is that not near as many people attend church in this day and time. I remember when we first moved here, in Nov. of 1974, you would not see but maybe one house on our street that did not attend church. Now, on Sunday, ours is the only house that is unattended because we are attending worship services. During the pandemic, our congregation has been faithful with their tithes, and our financial situation is probably better than it was before the pandemic, simply because a lot of this large facility is not using utilities, Sunday school materials have not been needed, etc. But, going forward, a dropping attendance will probably be an issue.
I got to meet Wah Wah Jones at a football game years ago. Was especially cool for me since we are both from Harlan county. An extremely nice gentleman. How cool would have been to be him? Play for both Rupp and Bear Bryant. That's quite the life.Ali came to the UK-UL football game, at Commonwealth Stadium. I believe it was 2013 and he was hustled out by his entourage, in the middle of the last quarter. I was next to the elevator, where I had been visiting with my Dad. Dad had just left to go to the car, and I was going back to check on my people when he came out of the elevator. He was getting frail, but he was walking on his own. I said, "Hello Champ" and he smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up. I have a signed poster, promoting a workout and autograph session from the late 60's, hanging in my garage.
Curious to know, but did your church 'change' in order to attract younger members? Seems that starting about 20 years or so ago, many churches thought they had to change the music, message, etc in order to attract new, i.e, younger members. To the point it's almost impossible these days to find a church that sings the old hymns. Our church has been blessed with a congregation that is pretty mixed. I use to occasionally go to Rehoboth in Tucker when Dr. Lee was there. Knew he had left many, many years ago but didn't find out until not too long ago that he started that church in Cumming. He was a really good speaker. I've got one of his books. As American society becomes more and more secular church attendance suffers, Europe was a perfect example of this. The main line churches especially.
I attended a church in Cumming, GA founded by Dr Richard Lee and we started in an empty storefront with a handful of members. By the time I returned back to Florida the congregation was over 5,000 and growing. Our church campus was worth multi millions and the contribution to the community could not be measured.
Currently I attend a church pastored by a cousin and we are in the midst of a multi million dollar youth program building. Also a complete remodel of our main sanctuary. Evangelical churches remain strong and growing in some areas of the country. Others, like New England not so much
No, no change. First Redeemer had two services, the first was more youth oriented with a "Worship Team" and the current "worship songs" found in churches. The 10:30 service was a traditional Southern Baptist. We sang out of the hymnal, my favorite being the Red Back, and had an outstanding choir. Few churches in America can match First Redeemers choir. Here is a little example of the church choir and orchestra from the second service. It came from the Easter Program and starts a little slow but it builds and has a great soloist.Curious to know, but did your church 'change' in order to attract younger members? I try not to be a curmudgeon, but some of the 'new music' I really don't care for. Not really songs, but the same 2 or 3 lines over and over.
He also has a satellite church in Cumming. It is amazing. As he speaks in Alpharetta, his image also appears in the church in Cumming and both get the same message. Thousands attend the satellite church and thousands the main church. Churches have gone high tech.I use to occasionally go to Rehoboth in Tucker when Dr. Lee was there. And, or course now you have Dr. Stanley's (was a member of First years ago) boy with his mega-church in Alpharetta.
Great work. You are using your talent.Got my last THIN BLUE LINE BADGE delivered today, while I was there I got orders for 2 more. Going to cut out some more, have them ready to solder together when needed! GOD IS GREAT!!!!!

I imagine he had some great stories to tell.

Yes.Is that Andy? If so, he had a half hour on Dr. Stanley's show, Sunday, about parenting in the 21st century. Excellent speaker. His father taught him well.
When Andy first went out on his own and started his church in Alpharetta, him and his dad had a bit of riff. Andy was the new style preacher...casual clothes, etc. Dr. Stanley is old school...proper, suit and tie, etc. But they have long since patched their differences, but I seem to recall that they didn't speak, or very little for a number of years. There's a video of (I think) Andy interviewing his his Dad and them talking about it.Is that Andy? If so, he had a half hour on Dr. Stanley's show, Sunday, about parenting in the 21st century. Same here, Sawnee. I have the classic characteristics to prove it: Stubborn, belligerent (on occasion) and cheap.I almost forgot.. Yesterday was St Andrews Day. Happy belated St Andrews Day for those who have some Scottish blood. I have a whole bunch of it

They are playing at two different locations. Duke is playing at home against Michigan State. I am not sure where we are playing, I hope it is not in Kansas. So we should be good to go at 9 :30 unless OT of courseSo it is Andy. He did a good job, on his Dad's show. Onto basketball. Why in the world does ESPN schedule the UK game at 9:30 when the preceding game doesn't start until 7:30? That first game will not end until, at least, 9:30 and then they have 20 minutes of warm up. Why not just show the first game 7:30-9:30 and then have a half hour review/preview, then show the UK game at 10:00? I just have never understood this and is one of my pet peeves.
