Yep, can't fire them, and can't get them to work. Had an issue with Kroger today. I needed to buy a couple of gift cards so I thought I would buy them at Kroger where I had a coupon that said "4X fuel points with purchase of Visa or MC gift card". So, I buy two $50 visa cards and the fuel points don't show up on my receipt. The lady on the register says I have to go to the service desk. I stood in line there for 25 minutes and when I get waited on, the lady tells me that it has to be a $50 prepaid card, and that the variable amount cards do not count. Those are the ones that are good from $25-500. I told her that if that was the case it should have said "prepaid amount" on the blasted coupon. I asked her why I didn't get, at least, my $100 in points that I spent on the cards? She said those are not awarded points. I then asked her how the coupon was going to give 4X the amount of points when it was $0 in the first place, since 4 X 0 = 0 ? She just kind of looked at me and couldn't answer. I asked her if that were the case, why shouldn't I just buy my gift cards at Walmart? Once again, the blank look. I finally gave up and went home, after wasting an extra half hour.
Good customer service is basically non-existent anymore Ben. I don't know which Kroger's in Ashland it was, but customer service at the Midtown Kroger has really went downhill in the last year or 2 imo.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 28°F with occasional icy rain here in Austin. Clearing later with a high of 61°F. Apparently, I brought the cold weather with me.

I made it back. Snow all the way in TN until about MM 170 on I-40 Westbound. Wore out. Everybody happy to see me. Must turn in rental car this afternoon and save a few $.

We'll check back later. Y'all behave.

Good morning D, beautiful but cold day here in the Berg!!!

I got a call yesterday and today I am going to deliver my last THIN BLUE LINE stained glass badge to our former sheriff who passed away, going to be tough!!!!

Our BIBLE reading each year now is on the first of December we start reading Luke. We read one chapter each day with it ending on CHRISTMAS DAY

I hope the D has a great day, thank GOD for safe travels and thank GOD for each day HE gives us!!!! I just don't see how anyone can mock GOD and think they can get away with it!!!

Had an eye exam a few weeks ago. I've got glasses...wear sometimes, sometimes not. Make things a little sharper for distance, and much easier to read. Progressive lens. So I just ordered some 'specs' online. So we'll see if that works out. Have no idea. Didn't want to hassle at WalMart and a couple eyeglass shops getting new glasses. With this Covid crap, I wasn't allowed to try on the frames....couldn't even touch them. Had to get someone to get them and put them on me. Heck with that. So I went the computer route. Should be delivered in a few days.

Speaking of cataracts...I've had one removed in both eyes. Absolutely amazing the difference it made. It's no big deal at all. Remember when I came home from the first one and walked by the TV and couldn't believe how clear, sharp, and bright it was.

My wife did the online thing, with Warby Parker. Pretty satisfied, but we probably paid a little more than if we had gone to Lens Crafters, or another local place. Only got about 1" of snow last night and the roads are just wet. Kind of snow I like.

I think I will join you guys. Great idea. Our church handed out the green rubber wrist bands that say "Keep Christ in Christmas" and badges with the pins, that say, "Jesus, Our Living Hope, Merry Christmas" Seems like our Lord keeps getting pushed aside, more and more, and people forget why we even celebrate Christmas. It began in a manger and was completed with a rolled away stone.

He was being interviewed during the first time out.
I am glad I missed this, That is pretty low class. As fans we want to play good teams and paying over $200 to watch UK play Transy is not what we have in mind. Or Morehead.

But a coach should never throw fans under the bus and blame losing to Richmond on UK fans wanting good teams. Richmond still does not meet my definition of elite teams that should be seen in Rupp Arena. Calipari needs to read some UK history and see the teams Adolph Rupp and Joe B Hall brought into Lexington. The weak cupcakes were no where to be found.

The UKIT was set up to bring in the very best teams in America for a Christmas Tournament. Defending National Champions were included as were the best from the East, Midwest and West. It was worth the $25 we paid to see four games in two nights. Now to sit in my seats it is over $200 for even an exhibition game.

End of rant, I will turn this over to you.

Let me add another P..S. I hate coaches being interviewed during a game. OK at half time, before or after but not during a time out when your team is getting pushed around. That is when you should coach, not answer reporters questions. What is going on here.

I'm as upset as anyone with Cal so this is not to defend him, but in the old days, it was easier to get good teams in Rupp. The $ payout for the UKIT was the biggest money teams were going to find in those days. As more tournies, TV, and money came into play, it became less attractive for top teams to go on the road to Rupp.

Good morning D League

And now for the daily weather report. We are sitting at 42° with a strong breeze off of the Gulf at 16 mph. The humidity is 64% with no chance of rain. With the breeze the temperature feels like 36°. That is good for the citrus fruit as cold sweetens them up. Our high will be 53°.

We are thankful Austin made it back to Texas safe and sound. All is well. God bless

Oh and last nights moon was spectacular. Waning Gibbous

Yes it was a very different world and game. The quality of players who came into Memorial Coliseum would fill up a Hall of Fame. They were the best of the very best. Jerry West, Jerry Lucas, Hot Rod Hundley, Cazzie Russell just to name a few. Great basketball.

Of course we did not have TV coverage back then and just a fraction of the money in the sport compared to today. But we had some classic games.

And, back then, only the biggest games were on tv. Now, on any given night, you can find South Dakota State, playing Drake. Teams don't want to come to play in a situation like the UKIT when they can go to Maui, or the Bahamas, get to play three games and get more tv revenue. Just a sign of the times. Certainly not better, just different.

And, at least for me, that’s why interest is waning in sports in general. There are too many games on tv, especially teams hardly anyone cares about. That’s good for the smaller schools, but it’s just overload. I used to really anticipate a good matchup for days ahead, but now you can find a game to watch whenever you want. After a while, it can get boring.

Happy December D-League, I guess. Thanks to my wife cracking the whip, we are well down the road in our Christmas prep, and our house looks the festive part. Now I ust have to drag my psychological and emotional state in that direction. One more day with our son before he heads back to Lex for a few weeks. But we know we'lll have the kids back for Christmas so its not a sad parting.

As I'm sure is true with many of you, I'm proud of all my kids and the way they are handling this crazy year by being productive and serving people and without self-pity or destructive behavior.

Nervous about the Cats tonight. Kansas has become one of those programs I think damage the game, and I hate to see succeed. So it'd be doubly irritating to lose to them. Why do we have an NCAA when a program like Kansas can be charged 15 months ago with very serious cheating allegations, and there is no sign that anything is ever going to come of it?

Good morning Kai, are you getting any snow up there?

Hey, I hope you're doing well. Nah, there's no snow at my house. Last night, some higher elevation areas to our North picked up some small amounts, up on the ridge tops and plateau, but down here in the valley, nothing, just cold and windy.

It's been a while since I've been on here; I need to catch up on things.

My Dad always told me when I was younger to keep a rag in my pocket. If I didn't have anything to do, clean something. I took that to heart and have told many of the people that work or have worked for me that same philosophy.

It doesn't fit into IT easily in the areas of IT I work now but when I was a system administrator I had the most clean server racks, wiring schema's, individual systems of any command.

I have counterparts and others in my purview that carry that over into certain jobs by stating if you have nothing to do re-evaluate your systems or do something to improve operations. Give input to others, offer assistance or an extra set of hands. It really rubs off if used regularly. It is a resume enhancer.
Got time to lean.....got time to clean

All is white here at home. Didn't get as much as they were saying yesterday morning. They said 4-8 and it looks more like 3. Sometimes Accuweather is not too Accu.

Saw a video with Perry Stone this morning (if you know who he is) and he was talking about the Covid gov't shutdowns...especially of churches. Was talking about how many churches he's heard that have shutdown completely...can't pay the bills. One town he said had 5 churches and they were all closed. Mentioned a survey (I guess) that of all the church goers who haven't been able to go to church...45% are not planning on going back.

Sad times.

Same here. It snowed all day long but melted as soon as it hit. A few degrees colder and we would have had a big one.

We are doing well, the wife is enjoying the cool weather as it reminds her of her Kentucky home. Except we have sunshine down here.

The pool boy came out today to clean the pool and was all wrapped up with thick flannel leggings, a wool scarf and layered clothes. He was a native Floridian and said he couldn't take this. Asked me if I realized it got down into the 40's last night. I laughed.

This is a real problem in the church world. Down here our churches remain strong but we have not had a government shut down. The churches have remained open and used caution by following the guidelines. I have been watching our services online and learned how to pay my tithes over the internet. They say it is secure. So far no problem.

If I had not had this cancer thing I would be in service but the doc cautioned me to take care until I get back close to 100%.

Morning fellas
Feeling OK finally.
I was going to go back to work today, but they talked me into staying home one more day.
I didn't even watch the game on Sunday, the loss was not a surprise. I did pick the Cats to win in OldReds prediction contest. I still cant go against them. I'm gonna pick them to beat Kansas too...
All hail to the D...
