December will be brutal.

And when I see some of these ESPN Black Lives Matter commercials I simply get mad.
What better way to finish off 2020. Good riddance.

Good thing you don't live in St. Matthews. I see a lot of BLM signs during my daily dog walk. Also, I've had to endure those damn "neighbor" signs for 4 years now. Enough is enough.

I didn’t watch any of the game today or any of the first game. Just don’t care to get invested in a new group year after year. Sorry to all you good folks that do, and some may think I’m a bandwagon fan, so be it. I don’t like the current system, and I’ll pick and choose what I want to see. And I don’t want to see early Cal teams. Just can’t watch it. Been a fan since late 60’s, so I’ve seen a lot of good and bad. Bad is, unfortunately, expected early on these days. As someone posted above, seeding suffers because of it. Just don’t care for it myself.

No need to apologize. I completely understand why many fans feel the same way. Sports are changing and not in a good way. Unfortunately it'll never change back to the way it was. Now if they change the name of Rupp Arena then I'll have some really hard decisions to make as a fan.

We all do BC and I don't think anyone will hold it against you.

You are not alone. The product is not worth the hype.

And college basketball changed due to the rules of the NBA. The NCAA, and Cal, had nothing to do with it. If the NCAA would go back to where kids cannot enter the draft until their HS class was 2 years past graduation, college basketball would not be where we would hope it to be, but we would at least see kids a couple of years. It will never happen. The player's union would never stand for it.

Good morning from Shawanee, TN. We're currently at 45°F with light rain and gradually increasing winds.

I'm leaving in about 1.5 hours. Plan on driving to Sparta, TN for a visit with my cousin. Trying to make the Cumberland Plateau (Crossville) before more snow and ice hit. I might hold off on staying with my other cousin tonight on Nolin Lake.

Anyway, tough loss yesterday. Richmond beat the living daylights out of our team.

Wishing all our fellow D-League members happiness and health.

Safe travels Austin.

It is 38.5°F here. It rained .85" last night and this morning. The weather report says the high today is 37° and going down to 24°. Accuweather says we may get 1" of snow, I don't know how much it will stick to the roads.

Here is a picture this morning from Echo, in Metcalfe (about 15 miles from Glasgow) county:

The lady that cuts Sherry's and my hair has 5 horses that she rides. She lives with her daughter on a farm near here. It is getting cold so yesterday she pulled out the horse blankets and posted some of the pictures on Facebook.

The picture below is the horse Johnny and her daughter. If that ain't love then I don't know what is:

I experienced a first yesterday. Decided to mow (again...ugh) the front yard. Sun was out and not too cold. It was getting a bit shaggy and the leaves from two maples that drop late were all over it....so I mowed and mulched it. Had one of my headsets on listening to the radio.......Christmas music on one of the stations. Have NEVER had Christmas music on while mowing grass! Only in 2020 I guess.

But mower is now stored for the Winter. No mowing today.....light rain and cold with snow (so says the weatherman) on it's way. Have heard anywhere from an inch to four. So we'll see. As long as I don't have to get out in it, and can stay in a nice, warm, comfortable house I love the snow. Very, very relaxing.

New work week...best wishes for all who have to do the 'daily grind', and for those who have already done that in their life.

Good morning D League
Monday Monday

We have 65.° and will reach 67° for our high today. We had some clouds roll in from the Gulf and they should hang around most of the day with a little sun. Our winds are constant. 14 mph. It doesn't appear the clouds will bring any rain

I notice a little snow up in Kentucky. Stay warm.

I trust Austin is having a good trip home and weather conditions do not affect is travel.

Basketball has problems from the NBA down to high school. The player's union dictates and the AAU feeds the monster. It may be so out of control there is no fix for it.

I would prefer it go back to the rules in place when Darryl Dawkins, Moses Malone and others were in high school. Let the cream of the crop go to the pros and everyone else with talent enter college, if so inclined. Once you enter college you must stay 3 years before being eligible for the NBA.

Something has to happen or fans will continue to drift away. My feelings certainly have changed since Coach Cal arrived. I once took losing hard and it would make me restless. I was tense before a big game and anxious to get it going. Now I am casual about it and a loss does not sting. My wife likes me better this way so maybe this is a good thing. At least for her.

The only thing constant about our program now is we will struggle in the early season, improve in the spring and say good bye to almost everyone on the team by the end of April. Especially the starting five. Our players have the attitude they are a failure if they do not declare for the draft.

Yes sir. It is still coming down as I type. Starting to slow down a lot though. Ground is white. Maybe an inch total.

The common denominator being Cal's woeful offense.

Wasn't so much Cal's offense as that young team not running it, and going back to one on one stuff, like AAU. Also, their defense went away that 2nd half, too. Played pretty good defense the first half, then they either didn't focus or got lazy, but they were standing up a lot, and not closing out on their men. It was a terrible performance all the way around, in the 2nd half. But, it is all correctable with coaching. Will it be by Tuesday night? Probably not, but this team just needs some time. The late start of practice really put this team further behind than most Cal teams.

Losses don't hurt me as badly as they used to, either, unless it is Louisville. I think a lot of it is me getting a little mellower as I get older.

Rain and lots of wind here today. Changes to snow around 5pm and will continue through tonight. They are saying 1-3 inches. Oh boy!
My house is still without heat. The mother board is wired for AC only and I need to change it for both heat and AC. I keep putting it off. It is a simple fix, just plug it in. I find it hard to get motivated to plug in the heat when the weather is mild and comfortable.

Old age setting in.

Howdy D-League. A very nice Thanksgiving holiday came to a stark finale at 4am when I got up to drive my daughter through a pelting rain and early rush hour traffic 40 miles to the airport in Baltimore so she could fly back to Austin.

Back to work. But it was a nice holiday. I hope the same is true for all of you.

Gooooood Morning Legionnaire's!

First of all your travelers be safe and God's speed.

Second, going for an eye appointment this morning (took a while but wife talked me into it). Last time I went I got the drops to dilate my eyes and developed floaters in my right eye the day after which had none before. Have a little blurring with it now. Going to a different doctor and hoping for the best. Read on line that other people experienced the same problems after dilation even though doctors say that does not happen with dilation.

Third, no confidence in team for tomorrow night's game. I think we will have some early losses until they get it figured out.

One more thing about the game yesterday. Cal taking on the fans about the schedule in a condescending tone on National Television not a good look for Cal or the program.
I missed this since I never listen to any pre game or post game comments. That too is a sign of my losing interest because once upon a time I would listen to every word. Game day was pretty much an all day event for me.

Now the question I am left with is, what do the fans have to do with the schedule? That makes no sense.
