D-League

Good thing we are just above freezing right now 34° because we are have more rain with thunder and lightning. Could have been a lot worse around here although my poor trees may not survive. Looks like some fall pruning is in order after it warms up and drys out around here.
It amazes me how trees and bushes are so resilient. I've seen them buried under multiple feet of snow or like in your case a lot of ice, and come back. As long as the tree branches don't crack and break, hopefully you'll be OK.

I just returned from a walk. We're right at 40°F with a cold northwest wind. Ha ha, very few folks out.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and the Lurkers.
  • We are at about 70º in Cumming. Raining since about 0200.
  • 2nd mug of Dark Magic going.
  • Got up about 0530, Couldn't sleep any longer,
  • QB and Lola still asleep.
  • Poor Warrior is catching Hell.'
  • The worker bees have been making their way to work, but mostly it is quiet around here.
  • Ymmot31: if by chance you read this, we need for you to check in and catch up on the stuff that is going on in your world.
  • Haven't heard anything from FCC. That is not good.
  • I don't really have anything.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.

Good morning D, nasty day here in the Berg. We are forecast for 2-4 inches of rain tomorrow, looks like OEC could get more than that!

Had breakfast for supper last night, scrambled eggs with Velveeta cheese in them, bacon, sausage, gravy and coffee! Mrs. M was well pleased with her supper when she got off work!!! Cooking a Flat Iron Steak for tonight!!!

Has any of the D, got a survey card from the Associated Press? It says it's a "nonpartisan" study to understand the views of voters. Told Mrs. M it was just a way to get you on every e-mail list in the country, but they will sent you $5 for doing it! If anybody gets one let me know, so I can see if the pin numbers match what I have.

I hope the D has a great day, going to try and do one thing positive for today!!!

Heavy rain coming in tonight and into Friday morning. 2-4+ inches expected with potential flooding along the Ohio River. Strong winds as well throughout Thursday. At least this will speed up the leaf raking, maybe even blow most of them to my neighbors yards.

Has anybody on here ever been contacted by people conducting polls during a presidential election? I'll be 60 in a few weeks, my parents are 86, nobody in my family has ever been contacted. In fact, to the best of my recollection I've never known anyone who has been contacted.
I am 74 years old and have never been contacted.

We were only out of power for about 5 hours on Monday so, things aren't so bad. However, my trees will probably need some help. Below is one in the backyard last year in snow. The next one is this morning's picture of the same tree.

This tree need an enima!
Wow! On a positive note at least the power wasn't off long enough to lose any food.

I love breakfast for supper. Mrs. hates it. So the only time I get it is when she's off and gone somewhere. Plus I think it's easier to fix with less cleanup.

When I was a kid, I absolutely hated breakfast food, now it's my favorite meal of the day. I've come to realize that a lot of the things I hated as a kid are the the things I like the most now.

Yeah supposed to rain here most of the night and all day tomorrow. Just looked at the radar and there's a bunch coming up from the Gulf coast. We haven't had too much here so it's not too wet here.
When I checked the radar it looked like the Northern part of the band of rain over OK way was pink, so wonder if warrior is getting more ice. Hope not...think they've had enough.

Radar looking rough. Guess rain is what we’re in for.

No, temperature is above freezing right now and the winds have died down a bit so, I think we're good.

Up and at 'em for an hour or so. No surprise...still dark. And rainy. According to the old weather app on the laptop, and Miss Google who's sitting in here in the living room with me, over on one of the side tables (she sits on a table and not the couch) it's about 48 out right now. In for an all day rain it looks.

Morning Legionnaires!

40° right now with a high of 55° expected. Winds 25 mph so, drying will happen once all ice is melted.

Will get out today and teach karate and then get back for some research. Going to take the next 2 days looking at the state questions and what my local politicians are pushing. Won't vote straight ticket because there are one or two rebubs who are pretend conservatives here that people like but, when it comes to their support of conservative issues they almost always go the other way. One particular one is a former teacher who has voted for every local tax increase or bond that has been brought forward. We have the second highest tax rate in this state.

Well, prayers for those that are in need of it: With God hands may he heal those who hurt, and may he especially heal a country who needs his guidance in this time of turmoil. Keep this country on the right path and allow us to remain free. In Jesus's name, Amen.

Ya'll be cool.

Well folks good morning raining here, supposed to get anywhere from 2 to 5 inches. Headed to work soon and then to see about jury duty. Looks like a 71 year old forgetful man with asthma could get out of jury duty in this Covid world! Today is just the meeting to prepare us for November and December. Wish me luck! I only work Thursday and Friday's making deliveries for a local office supply store. Going to be a wet one for sure!

I'm afraid we're going to lose the WH. I just hope we maintain a majority in the Senate, to keep the liberals from giving away everything they can, buying votes for the next election.

No Sir,
Have faith and remember the last time how wrong all were!

Oh, Good Morning all, prayers up to a brother Sir. May God intervene and bare all for you. Bless you all in the name above all names. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Yes, there is something about that name! -G. Gaither...

In suburban Ashland, the rain started about midnight and will continue all day, tonight, and till late afternoon on Friday. Looks like we get cold temps after that for a couple of days, and then it moderates. Sun will be out next week. Everyone remember to set your clocks on Saturday night, and "fall back". My appt with the neurosurgeon is at 10:30. I'm afraid they will call my back elective and not operate until there is a vaccine. I guess we'll see.

Mr. Tapemaster, what part of the state you from?

Good morning D, looks like we have had 1.5 so far and it's supposed to rain the rest of the evening. Question about the I-phone, on the weather app, does the rain total reset after midnight? We had .7 when I went to bed last night and was still raining.

I hope the D has a great day and prayers are lifted up!!!

This cool weather coming in Mrs. M ask me to make some Chicken Noodle soup, got a new recipe.

4- Boneless chicken breast
2- 15oz. Cans chicken broth
1-stick of butter
2-cans of cream of chicken
24oz frozen egg noodles> we use a dry Mrs. Millers egg noodles from Kroger

Cook the chicken, soup, butter and broth in a crock-pot on low for 6-7, take the chicken out, shred, put it back in the crock-pot, add the noodles and cook another 2 hours.

I do a little bit different, I grill or bake the chicken while the broth, soup and butter in cooking in the crock-pot then shred the chicken it after it's done add the chicken and noodles and it done in about 3 hours.

If I just make one batch I use about 1/2 the bag of noodles.

The first time I made this I used the whole bag of noodles, took some to one of my mom's best friends and she called me later on and told me that was the best chicken and dumplings she had ever had, after that I cut it back to 1/2 a bag. Great southern comfort food! Hope you enjoy D!

Had chicken and noodles last night. Not a soup, but enough broth where it's kind of like it. Along with mashed potatoes.
But I have to admit, your recipe and the way do the chicken (grilled for me) sounds even better.

It is a very rainy 64.9°F. We have already got 1.79" so far. It started yesterday about 3pm.

I got my flu shot yesterday through a drive in service the hospital had. I thought it would be a long ordeal but instead we whizzed right through. You roll down the window and they get you information then drive into a tent and they give you the shot. You never have to get out.

You all stay dry if you are in the path of Zeta.
