D-League

Yeah that was a good one.
Funny, back when it was on I was a young know-it-all fellow (as we all were at one time)...and I hated Gunsmoke. Hated John Wayne (my apologies to BBUK), hated oatmeal (ha)......now love all three.
Got about 13 seasons of Gunsmoke on DVD. Record it everday on METV.
I also hated Gunsmoke at first, but every time I would visit my father, he would be watching it. After sitting there and watching it with him a few times, I soon realized it was a good show. Now every time I watch it, I'm reminded

The Mrs (she's a binge watcher ... ha) watched all those a few months ago either on Netflix or Prime, can't remember which...if you have either one of those.
Other than maybe a sporting event, can't remember the last time I watched network TV. Love the sub-channels 'cause like I mentioned in a post last night ... love the old shows...hate the new ones.

I haven't watched network tv in 20 years. Nor have I listened to radio. I know nothing of recent celebrities or music artists. Have I missed anything?

I doubt it but if you did, I did too. You are certainly not alone. I watch the Savannah Town Hall last night on NBC and it reminded me why I do not watch Network TV. There is nothing I can relate to.

That is really not a bad thing because of the generational gap. Their programming is not directed to people like me.

And speaking of Gunsmoke I watched it regularly from the fist episode. My dad and I would watch all of the Westerns of that day. Western TV shows were the most popular of all. Bonanza, The Rebel, The Rifleman and on and on. Great time to be alive.

Speaking of old shows, my 2 daughters love them. My 16 year old is a huge fan of Twilight Zone, and the 6 year old loves Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, and Addams Family. She loves snapping her fingers to the theme.

We have my MIL over every Sunday. She's 86, lives alone, and hardly ever gets out anymore (not really able these days). So we have her over for dinner. She loves to do puzzles so her and the Mrs spend the afternoon doing one of those big complicated puzzles (takes them several weeks to finish). When they're doing it they always stream Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie. Other than a few weeks ago when they streamed the Dennis the Menace movie w/Walter Matthau. Really funny movie if you've never seen it.

Sawnee, I watched No Time For Sergeants last week which, of course, stars Andy Griffith and Nick Adams. While watching it, I remembered Adams starring in The Rebel. Good show.

Investigate and disclose. The poor folks on the D-League need to know who they are dealing with.
Investigation incomplete as this cave is deep and dark. I'll skip the uncivil details but here's what I found about our family roots thanks to your Aylmore tip. I've linked a little of the information. So far I've got the "i's" crossed and "t's" dotted. Anyway here's an update.
  • Bishop John Aylmer - my maternal 11th great-grandfather was our immigrant John Aylmore's grandfather. A contemporary of Lord Henry Rich.
  • Lord Henry Rich - my maternal 8th great-grandfather was the beheaded grandson of Richard Rich 1st Baron of Rich.
  • Mary Wroth - my (not yours yet) 10th great-grandmother was daughter/grand daughter of the beheaded Lord Henry Rich remarries
  • Thomas Hussey - descendant (son or nephew) of the beheaded John Hussey family married this widow Mary Rich in England and immigrates to Maryland for religious liberty. Her daughter Elizabeth Hussey marries my immigrant ancestor making this Thomas a 7th paternal great-grandfather.
  • 1st cousin 7x removed George Washington associating himself with these Hussey descendants, my paternal 4, 5, & 6 great-grandfathers, for some 35 years from the French and Indian War thru his presidency.
Folklore has become exploration portholes via the wayback.

Analysis about your hard head. The grandson of our Protestant Rich family ancestor immigrant, Lord Jeremiah Rich whose descendants, including my maternal 7th great-grandfather Timothy Rich and his son took Cherokee brides having (Indian blood) descendants who followed these strict Hard-shell Baptist convictions saving the savages as they tracked them down. The Elmores have done well to keep their heads on their shoulders so keep smiling for the blessings.

Nick Adams was an excellent actor and played the role well. The theme song for that TV show was sung by none other than Johnny Cash. Johnny Yuma The Rebel

I asked earlier on the Political Board where is @Cawood86? Think he posted here a week or so ago after he was banned for a week or two. Haven't seen him for awhile (last post was 19th) so I assume he got banned again.
When you look him up by poster name nothing comes up...and when you @ him like above, the name doesn't come up and highlight when you're done. Guess he honked someone off again.
I am glad someone missed me....ha ha. I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Good to be back interacting.

I hope you're right. I REALLY hope you're right. As the old saying goes "nothing sucks like a big orange".

I was afraid to post having a 2nd beer. That means I made it out of the kitchen. Tomorrows' game will be fun. But as far as sucking, I can think of Hoosiers/Suckeyes and can't tell the difference. There's those stinking mash sucking mountaineers and sissy smelling cavaliers. Need I continue my tribal rant. All them river sucker inbreds along the Ohio and Mississippi. And don't get me started about belly dragging swampbillies.

🤷🏻‍♂️ I like arguing politics but my own country’s politics are stupid and boring. But apparently being a contrarian on here isn’t allowed. Oh well. It was fun.
On this thread we basically stay away from politics and just talk beer, food, fishing , ailments, you know, old guy stuff. As long as you keep the politics out, people will keep it civil here.

As a side, I don't care what you post about me, I have thick skin and know who I am so, I was not offended although I am not really sure what you posted that got you banned. I left out at about 10:15 this morning only to return around 14:30 or so. So, I missed it.

I honestly didn’t say anything worse than what was said to me, and stayed factual. It’s fine though, no biggie. Just can’t reply anymore to these incessant notifications I am getting of people responding to me angrily 😂

I generally say what I feel and whoever be damned. Not personal really, just more my facts as I know and understand them if you will.

Edited: Old Army Vet, they taught me to fight for my country whether it is there or here. By the way, that is me in the Gulf in my Avatar.

Cheers brother. I’m a Canadian. Been a wildcat fan since they signed magliore who was my favourite player as a kid after seeing him play in HS. Played against the cats in 2002 and joined this site in 2003.
I liked Jamal just fine. One of my favorites. Nick Richards always reminded me of him. Loved the Archer, too!

This year with Sarr the Cats are a complete, talented bunch. With Boston, a player that can't be stopped on a team better than their opponent at every position, should be fun. Now wait till I find my blue shades.

here’s proof

This sounds like an adult version of Dr. Seuss. You left out UL.

He was excellent as Mr. Wilson. Then again, he was excellent in most of his roles.

Good Saturday morning

We have a nice morning with a current temperature 67° and will will reach 85° by mid afternoon. Our humidity is 67% and we will not have any rain today. Should be a nice day to be outside with winds 11 mph giving us a nice Gulf breeze. I am heading over to the beach to pick up some fresh Gulf seafood. Probably get a few pounds of Gulf shrimp and of course some stone crabs for boiling. I prefer this one.

I loved it. Good work.
