We really need those early OOC games. Really needed. The pass defense is dreadful. Other than that this is really a good team. Well, the pass offense isn't that good either. Ali is all they have.
That's one of the funniest, oddest evaluations of a team I've seen (and I mean that in a good way). Ever thought of going into talent evaluation? The pass defense is dreadful. Other than that this is really a good team. Well, the pass offense isn't that good either. Ali is all they have.
Spur of the moment comments is all I have these days. Really disappointed at this point. That's one of the funniest, oddest evaluations of a team I've seen (and I mean that in a good way). Ever thought of going into talent evaluation?

Yes. Those 2-3 games are critical.I suspected it would be a catastrophe without them.

Most of my career was in electronics. Can remember talking to R&D engineers at a couple companies out in Technology Park (Norcross, GA) and people at Ga Tech back before cell phones hit the market and they were working on the technology. I use to kid them about Dick Tracey. Shows how smart I am.Written in 1953
Too many of our fans over the last number of years (even with Brooks) went over the top thinking we were better than we really were. Like you said, take out the OOC games and the record's not very pretty. Then add in a helping of you can go to a bowl game with basically a .500 record, and some can't see the forest for the trees.Well, some of the folks on HOB were making their predictions, before the season started, and I said we would be lucky to go 4-6, and probably only go 3-7. They made fun of me, and I was roasted in 5-6 posts. My reasoning was that I thought we would go 7-5 this season, and we lost 4 wins from the non-conference games, and picked up 3 tough SEC games. How many times have we gone over .500 in the SEC in the past 30 years? Even with the good team from last year, we went 3-5 in the SEC. Now, after seeing the secondary perform, I think we go 2-8, possibly 3-7. We just lost a lot of talent out of our secondary, and we lost Dean Hood, our secondary coach. It shows.

I think in recent times one of the darlings of UK fans, Matt Jones and crew are partially responsible for this false narrative. They pump up the team to build their "brand". When you have the Cats going undefeated before Alabama and thinking you are going to beat Tennessee and Florida on the road you are clueless about college football.Too many of our fans over the last number of years (even with Brooks) went over the top thinking we were better than we really were. Our SEC record is anemic and everybody can see this except those closest to our program. UK and Vandy are probably the only SEC schools that would put up with our SEC record. We talked our self into believing we were superior to Ole Miss and even thought our coaching staff was superior. Over the summer UK should have and could have built on our past two seasons. But the coaches had other issues to address and here we are 0-2 with the meat of the SEC schedule ahead. Mike Leach will be ready for his return on Saturday. Stoops better be too.
Good point. It is extremely important for UK to dominate the Top 10 talent in Kentucky every year. They will seldom if ever get the best players out of other states.I think a lot of it has to do with UK's improvement over the past few years, and they have been pretty competitive. But, the fans want to be elite, in football, and when UK got competitive, the fans just got unrealistic expectations. If they would look at everything, and be realistic, they would not be so disappointed. I want UK football to be good, but, we are not going to recruit as well as the teams that have lots of HS talent, in their state, and get those kids to stay home. Look at all the talent in LA, Bama, Florida, GA. Lots of times, we get kids from Florida, and they are pretty good, but they didn't even get an off from an SEC school. You can't be out Florida Gulf Coast, LA-Lafayette, and Middle Tennessee for recruits and expect to win the SEC title.

One of the things they worried a lot about was people holding a cell up to their ear, microwaves, and the like. They all seemed fairly confident that it would lead to increased brain cancer, tumors, and other problems with the brain even though the amount of exposure would be below the government recommendations. I guess time will tell.
I loved Dick Tracy comics as a boy. His crime fighting was way ahead of the times
Great link Rooster and very interesting read. Ole 148 has quite a story to tell and it is nice to see her back on the tracks. She is a. Beauty
I'm doomed I don't have a cell phone. I did once. My wife handed it to me on the freeway and I placed it in the front seat. It rang so I picked it up and after pressing several buttons the ringing gadget flew into a barricade at 70 mph . . . I still have a flip but it scares confused folks who look at it like a phaser. One of the things they worried a lot about was people holding a cell up to their ear, microwaves, and the like.
