Want them to get a little bigger. [winking]
WC when I heard a statement like that I think of my daughter, she has two of the best statement's I ever heard!

1- We were on a pontoon late one evening on Lake Brasher and a big full moon was coming up, I told her get a picture of the moon, her reply was " I want to wait a little until we get closer!!!"

2- We were setting around talking about what our favorite foods were to eat and someone asked my daughter what her favorite dish was and her answer was "a plate"!!!!

Have you ever been to Willy Ray's? Made the food networks and a couple of others top 10 years back.
No, unfortunately. I hope it returns.

This COVID crap has already forced many old family-owned and small restaurant chains out of business. Some were real treasures. I have a feeling more will follow.

I love her humor. That is wonderful.

Sounds like a blonde girl.

I might check into Rudy's for takeout tomorrow night.

For best BBQ, must hit up Franklin's or Black's. Salt Lick next to Dell Diamond is great too.
Didn't the guy who owns/started Franklin's (guess his name is Franklin) have a BBQ show on PBS or a cable channel? Liked the show and the food looked amazing. Liked how he would build his own BBQ cookers out of old 55 gallon barrels.

Yes, that's him. His place always has long lines. He constantly runs out of food. But he's also really really good at BBQ.

We use to love watching the old Man vs. Food. One episode he was in Columbus, Ohio and among the 2 or 3 places he went to was called Thurman Cafe in the Old German Village. Been there a long time. One time (actually more than once) when we were in Columbus we stopped and got one of these. The Thurmanator...

Cardiac event, on a bun.

So true. The first time we ate there and ordered one of those, there was a family sitting next to us with a couple little kids. The waitress brought that out and the little boys eyes got as big as a silver dollar and he started tugging on his mom's arm telling her to 'look at that'. It was priceless.

I wonder if you can order angioplasty on the side?

Pizza the Hutt.

Morning D-Legionaires. Are we fighting the good fight today? Going to be a slug myself. Weekend was busy so, nothing today. Back after it tomorrow when the bass will be the target.

Thanks for the update Don on FCC. Gave some money to that situation but sometimes believe it is better not to feed the bear. Have a good friend who gambled all of his savings away (half a million) in Vegas after so many trips. Lost his job due to injury and had no money to pay his bills so me and a few others helped him out for a while to the tune of about $8,00.00 from me. Thought he had licked the problem but found out he was still gambling in the casino's that popped up around here on Indian land. Finally cut him off as did the others with me. He hit rock bottom and got some settlement money from the injury from Goodyear where he had worked for years and with the help of a girlfriend has so far stopped most of the gambling. He goes on occasion with a set amount and has stuck with that because his lady friend keeps him on it. He has since paid me back about half and will pay more as he can. Hope he keeps with it.
Goodyear Union City?

As someone that has survived 2 heart attacks...I'll skip the MONSTER BURGERS and say I like them but I can't enjoy. Anyway. I didn't see any Alien ships this past weekend at Nolin Lake...color me me disappointed. BUT...the Mother Ship is just beyond the range of the monitors and they know when to come get me off this rock!

Lawton Oklahoma.
Just wondered because I retired after 32 years and 5 months at Union City. I knew a few guys who would bet on the first minute it was going to rain, just to have something to wager on! I know one guy who transferred from Union City to Lawton, who was good friends with Leonard Hamilton.

Saw this and thought I'd share.

This guy was/is my Karate instructor since 88. We met at my unit when I was a Drill Sergeant and he worked in the mess hall. He talked me into going to his dojo whenever I had time and we became friends. He went to work at the Goodyear plant not long after and worked a lot of overtime and running a very successful dojo saved his money and was very frugal building his fortune until a co-worker at Goodyear talked him into going to Vegas for a week. From then on, they went about one weekend a month until the money run out and then he got injured. Now he lives on the settlement and SS. does part time managing a medical marijuana shop.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about your heart attacks. Glad you're still with us.

I visited Nolin Lake twice this summer - end of June and second week in July. Love it there. Considering purchasing some land near but not on the lake by Anneta.

ATC...hopefully you'll find a spot down there. There will be a time when I pull the plug on Louisville and just stay down at NL. Plus the skies are much darker down there so my scope time is much more enjoyable.

I'll bet our local Florida resident will recognize this place. Clearwater restaurant that was huge in the 60's and 70's. Loved going there during family vacations. Closed nearly 30 years ago.

Oh yes the Kapok Tree Restaurant. It closed in the early 1990's. I can't count the times we went there. Every time an out of state guest dropped by they wanted to go to this restaurant. I doubt there will ever be another restaurant quite like this one.

It was owned by the Baumgardner family. The sapling that formed this beautiful tree came from India in 1870 and was planted in an orange grove. Mr Baumgardner built the restaurant in the late 1950's

Across the street was another restaurant he owned and it was probably the fanciest in Clearwater and very expensive. It was called Baumgardners. The Kapok still has special events such as weddings, etc. My best friend recently had a retirement dinner there. It is an old landmark of a day long gone. My grandfather was born in Clearwater in 1884 and my mother in 1912 and that Kapok tree was around when they were on this earth.

My aunt, Dad's sister, lived in Dover. A small city outside of Plant City. 75% of our vacations started there with a 2-3 day visit then branched out to various parts of Florida. The folks always tried to work The Kapok Tree in somehow regardless of where we traveled. Many fine memories.
