Good morning D
Well what a week
Last Friday (not last night but the one before) I get a phone call that the air in my son and daughter in laws apartment is out. Of course this was after five so there was no getting it fixed that weekend. My DIL is eight and a half months pregnant. No way they could stay there with the heat we’ve had...so they come stay with us. She’s also had some complications with gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia. My son had to work both of his jobs because they need the money
Then on Sunday the DIL ended up in the ER...she had been getting sick, was dizzy, breaking out into a sweat and cramping really badly. Her blood sugar and blood pressure were elevated but not badly. Somehow, even with all the water and stuff she drinks she became severely dehydrated. She was released after IV fluids and her blood pressure stabilized.
Tuesday was her dr appt.. he looked at her Blood Sugar log and didn’t like it, so she got admitted to the hospital ...all her levels were out of whack. So she got to stay in there until yesterday. Poor girls birthday was Wednesday..not a fun way to spend it.
Upshot of all of that you might ask? DILs due date is October 31. The drs have decided it would not be good to let her go that long so are going to induce this coming Thursday morning. If her labor doesn’t progress as they would like, or if there is ANY distress they’ll have to do a c-section. Either way we will have a precious new granddaughter by the end of the week.
To top all that off, my sons car keeps overheating...they’ve replaced the radiator, water pump and thermostat. Still doing it..Rob thinks it might be the head gasket. Going to check that today. We’re praying it’s just leaking and not blown.
Add into that working full time and dealing with a teenage boy who just doesn’t want to do schoolwork it’s been crazy this week. I’m about worn out.
Hope all of you guys are doing well..haven’t had a chance to catch up reading posts yet
Hugs to you all
I'm exhausted just reading your post. Here's wishing for calmer times. Good luck BKO!

50 years ago today, debuted this comedic masterpiece. The series enjoyed a great run over 4 seasons and became a cult classic here in the USA.

I bought their complete disc set years ago. Love it.

Did some fishing today, Warriorcat 1---LMB 0 Smallest bass I have caught in 2 years. Barely bigger than the lure.

Then back home to take wife and daughter to lunch, shopping and then back home again to cut grass. 90° but got it all done now, they want to watch a scary movie. Ha! 2 rum and cokes (strong ones) I say go ahead, just don't expect my old ass to be awake half way through.

Good Sunday morning D League

Coffee was good and I am going to make another pot. Bacon was also good and life is good. Our Cats needed an open week and I hope they come back and start winning some games. I trust all have a nice day and if any are hurting prayers are being sent your way.

How much longer is ymmoT in Cats Illustrated Jail? Still missing him and all the information he gives us.

Just sitting in the garage watching football. No more dog sitting, he finally left...back to normal.
Cleaned out storage room & closet on Wednesday...now I gotta clean out the garage. Took one load to the landfill already.
Weather feels great. Dont have to worry about the Cats losing today..

I am not sure why this is being quoted. I tried "unquoting it" about 3 times and it will not let me. Oh well. Just got back from Amish country in Ohio. Had a good time. Drove on to Cleveland and went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Pretty neat place and with the John Glenn space and science facility, it is a place I could have spent a lot more time at. After while, I will post our old family recipe for Barbecue to try to fill in for some of Ymmot's info. Sure can't take his place, but maybe it will keep Sawnee occupied until he gets off probation.

I just got back from NYC. Seeing the 9/11 Memorial and riding the Staten Island Ferry out to see the Statue of Liberty were my two favorite things. Wasn't a big fan of Times Square to be honest. They have bicyle taxis that charge $5+/minute. I will say that this trip has made me appreciate Kentucky that much more.

I was offered a job by the UP back in 1992. I flew from Jacksonville to Omaha in February and froze my butt off. Omaha in winter is a rough. I turned down the job.:) The money difference was not enough to overcome the weather.

It is good to my daughter! UP's headquarters is right down town Omaha.

Thanks Ben, it has been rough without Ymmot making suggestions on what to eat for supper. He is the man and I am getting hungry waiting on his pardon from jail.

Good morning D
What a marvelous fall morning..cooler temps and much needed rain
Out here on the porch with my first cup of coffee just listening to the cicadas sing and enjoying the peace and quiet before I have to get ready for work
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Good Monday Morning D League

Just sitting outside waiting for the sun to rise and having a very good strong black cup of coffee. It is a pleasant morning with temperatures in the 60's and headed into the mid 80's. We are having friends from Georgia down this week and looking forward to spending some time with them. They are very active and love the outdoors, especially kayaking so we can show them a good time with that. I trust all are well and have a nice day.

Good morning D League. Off and running on another week. At least this one will only be four work days for me, then my wife and I are taking a brief trip up to Vermont to see some of the fall colors in the mountains up there. Lots to get done before then.

Hang in there folks.

Good morning D! Wow how the weather has changed! We are at 3" of rain and still raining, parts of the Berg has had over 4", we needed the rain but not a flood, what we needed was a soaker. Right now it's raining, wind blowing and the wind chill is about -10, going to be a long winter for cord!

For the Trek groupies (me included) I have stated that I do not like reading, but Mrs. M has been trying to get me to starting reading a little bit, she stated that it will take you places as you read. Well I found a Star Trek that I think my B-I-L gave to me years ago and read it, now I am starting to read it again because, I didn't read it deep enough the first time. If you haven't read it, Federation it's really a good one. It takes you back all the way to the beginning of warp drive (Zephram), Kirk and Picard. Anyway it did take me places and I could feel the wind blowing over my bald head and oh never mind!!

Headed Krogering in a few and try to find another 12" Dewalt clamp for my S-I-L, my daughter said she doesn't

know what to get him, so I told her I would pick up another one at RK, ever guy or gal needs two good clamps to work with!

Out of here D fir a while. Prayers for the D! Ya'll have a good one.

Sorry I didn't get this posted but we were gone for a while and when I returned, we had a house full of grand children who talked me into a game of Uno. Anyway, here it is. It is the recipe from my great uncle's restaurant, that closed in the early 60's. Really good Carolina style Barbecue.

Cook a 4-5 lb pork roast until tender. Salt while cooking.
Let cool and then pull apart and set aside, discarding any fat.
Then prepare sauce, using:
1 cup of finely chopped onions
1 cup of finely chopped celery
3 cups of Ketchup
6 tbs of brown sugar
6 tbs of vinegar
2 cups of water
1 1/2 tsp of allspice
Salt and pepper to taste
Cook sauce at low to medium heat, stirring frequently to keep from sticking, and until celery and onions are tender
Stir in shredded pork a little at a time, and then simmer for about and hour. If needed, add water.

Enjoy.

Here is another recipe that I like and that some of you may like for Monday night football. It is for a salmon ball.

Open, drain, and remove bones and skin from one can of red salmon
Mix with 8 ounces of cream cheese and add:
2 tbs of lemon juice
3 1/2 tsp on grated onion
2 1/2 tsp of horseradish
3/4 tsp of salt
1 tsp of garlic powder
Dash of Worchester
Couple of drops of liquid smoke

Mix well and form into a ball and roll in pecan pieces. Put in refrigerator for a couple of hours.
Grap your favorite crackers and dig in.

Enjoy.

Putting it in the oven, then mixing up a can of mushroom, putting onions on top of the FIS, then pouring the mushroom soup over the steak and onions, cooking about 5 hours low and slow. I am cooking 2 so one will be for supper, then one will be for hot beef sammmmmichs and the rest will be for beef pot pie. I hope Y is lurking somewhere!
