I don't know Shawnee...I've never seen a chicken that looked like that.:alien::alien::alien:

Since I've retired, I hardly ever watch the News

I haven't watched the news since the run-up to Trump's nomination. No truly unbiased reporting any more. Just propaganda. The only time I know what is going on in the world is when I check in to the Political thread occasionally. What a hoot. Life is better that way.

Just
And I don't care. I still give my honest opinion. If someone doesn't like it, they can just write it off as coming from a crazy old man.
Just this week we started off minus one worker who found a better job. Boss says now looking for replacement and if anyone has some one in mind they can't be PC. I agree with her and sat in on last hiring and will do so on this one. Both bosses went with my recommendation on last hire and will probably do so on the next. As lead I am the one that has to deal with them daily because the bosses come and go as they please while I make the decisions in the office. Benefits of being more vocal than everyone else there.

I have about 100 more than I need. If I had never had a facebook account I would be happy, but I was drafted into one because I had a public office.

I was the President of my class so I have all the folks from class that have a facebook account. I have a bunch of friends in the UK and Spain because of a web site that I once edited. I have family (many of them hate my conservative ways!). I have political friends from the ten years that I held public office.

Now to the defense of facebook. I use them to host my pictures. I actually enjoy some facebook times with a few member of the D-League. Bottom line is that I am a social being and facebook helps me stay social.
I don't have a facebook account. Me and the wife had one for about 3 months together when some old girlfriends tried to contact me and she said "enough of that, we cancel this today. It was over before it really began. No twitter either. My only real social media is here.

Retirement is nice...did that help? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Nope, not enough good planning early on and having parents that struggled to pay their own bills for years drained my finances. That and an ex-wife. Only real saving grace is a military retirement check and the civil service job I now have has helped to rebuild a completely drained account. I figure 5 more years will do it. 67 is target age.

Sorry to read all that WC. Hang in there, you'll get to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Good morning from ATX. Currently 78°F and clear. Possible 98°F coming along with an occasional shower today. Record-breaking heat coming this weekend. Possible heat relief on the way Monday.

We watched part 5 of ESPN Saturdays in the South last night. Love that series.

BBM coming next Friday. Next Saturday is Razorbacks vs Cats.

Bah!
We made a big pot of taco sauce yesterday and will have tacos today and freeze the rest of the sauce. We slow cook our taco sauce for 6 hours. And when we serve it we will let it simmer for an hour before we make the tacos. I love my tacos. I also love tamales and I use to make my own but now I order them from a tamale company out of Texas. They ship them with the corn husk still on them.

Good Friday morning from the Gulf Coast where we have a current temperature of 70° and clear skies. Looking for a high of 88°. All the talk on the radio this morning is about the Auburn-Florida game. Two Top 10 teams battling in the Swamp. I hope both of them lose.

I have a lot of work to do outside. Still looking for things to throw away. I have pretty much downsized everything I want to get rid of with the exception of some books. But I am working on my wife as about 90% of her possessions are things that are sentimental to her and she can't let go. I am working on her though so there is hope.

Trust all have a great day. Coffee pot is getting empty and I may need to make another one the way I feel now.

Well I am starting off today at a cool 61.7°F. That is as cool as it has been in weeks. We are supposed to top out today at 80°F, but no rain. We need rain.
Most of Kentucky is officially in a severe drought, some parts of eastern KY is extreme. 50% chance of rain Sunday so maybe relief is on the way.
