Hey Ace, can you share with us about some of the diet changes you've made since you started your diet back on May 1 ?
Actually, I know this is cliche' to say, but it was mostly just common sense. Of course, I do have a lot of coaching. One daughter is a Dietician, another a Nurse Practitioner and a wife who's a Professor of Nursing...lmao. What i did though, was gave up bread, fried foods ( this really hurt lol ) and sugary stuff.
I eat a lot more fruit, veggies and WALK! Walking now 5 miles a day. I started out walking about a quarter mile and it about killed me. You just have to be disciplined and consistent

Nice and good for you being consistenta and disciplined. Yeah, from what you said, it's pretty much common sense stuff; no secrets, no ninja techniques. Just sensible steps that most of us know we should do anyway. How about any weight lifting/strength training to go along with the walking for you?

No, no weight training for this old man. I do ride my bike once in awhile and swim, but besides walking, that's it

Morning all, Leaving Friday for Kentucky, may go to the game Saturday, Started a diet on May 1st. Went to the doctor and weighed in at 259, as of this morning, weigh 207. Walk 5 miles a day now and eat healthier. I live in a place where if you don't walk, and you're physically able to, that's on you.

When I took my physical for the RR I was 18 years old, was 6'1 and weighed 171....LOL. Glad that hurricane missed us, a lot of property is just getting fixed from Hurricane Irma, two years ago. Have a good day, talk at you later

Impressive. [thumb2]

Good morning D, finally got some of my work done here and at church so I am just kinda being lazy. The pay is the same whether I am lazy or not!

Just about got to hot working at the church yesterday, Mrs. M told me I had better be careful so I put my foot down and told her yes dear.

Don't think I am going to get the hearing devices, they seem like they didn't stop the ringing in my ears that much, plus it seemed like every time I did something I had to stop and take them out, so I have lived with this ringing for over 35+ years I guess a few more won't matter!

I was taking a shower last night, just standing in there thinking, gosh I hurt all over and it got me to thinking about when I started at Dyno Nobel and how sore I was when I would come in from work. My job was suppling powder to two buildings that made det cord. For ever lot I did 300lbs per lot and by the time I completely finished each lot thru the line I had moved it 6 times=1800lbs all moved by hand. I averaged anywhere form 6-10 lots a day, that's a lot of pounds! I loss 15 lbs. the first two weeks I was there!

Ya'll have a great day!

My ears also ring constantly and sometimes loudly as a result of gunfire and explosions, according to doctors. Looking at a doctor visit here soon.

My ears ring a lot too. After 20 years in the artillery it is to be expected.

I am pissed. The SEC Network is carrying the UK game as the alternate. Spectrum in my area does not cover the alternate.

I will not get it live on my TV.

I called Spectrum and vented. Nothing will happen, but I am really, really pissed.
Bert, do you have a Roku or another way of getting the ESPN app on your t.v.? If so, you should be able to watch the SEC Alternate Channel through the ESPN app. It'll just ask for your t.v. provider and have you log in to your Spectrum account to verify that you're a paid subscriber.

I still haven't seen any damage that would suggest 185 mph wind. Far from it. Just now I saw the latest data from the hurricane plane that showed max wind speed in the eyewall at 100 mph. Talking head said they were leaving it at 145 mph and that's what the graphic off to the side still says.

Isn't a hurricane serious enough on its own? Does a hurricane really need embellishment? There must be some reason why we would be misled by our most trusted weather sources.

They are now starting to show it. Pretty bad in the parts of Bahama they are showing.

We UK is not on tv I usually go on the Wildcat thread and it is on there sometimes.

I had gotten to 229 lbs which is the most I have ever weighed. I started low carbs last Wednesday morning and I am at 213 this morning. Most I have ever lost in such a short period. Tomorrow will be one week, and I am starting to slow down on the loss, but another lb will put me at 17 lbs in one week. Thought this old metabolism had slowed down to where I couldn't lose that much, but the scales don't lie. Think I'll go off it for 3-4 days, and jump start it again. I want to get down to 205, so if I rebound 3-4 lbs, I hope to get to my target weight within 10 days. Then I'll have to watch what I eat between now and Thanksgiving. That Halloween candy the grandkids drag in is a major temptation.

Mrs. M read me something funny yesterday

A couple was in the process of getting a divorce, he came home one day from work to see her car in the driveway, oh crap he thought, there goes my deer hunting for today. He walks in and she is all dressed up in a very revealing nighty, she says to him do you want to tie me up and have you way with me? Sure he replies, so he ties her up, then goes deer hunting!!!!

I am in the same boat. Spectrum. I am going to try to find it streaming over the internet but I doubt I will have any luck.

Yes. But I am an asshole.

I give Spectrum nearly $260 a month. I live in Kentucky. I should be furnished the game on a normal basis and not have to jump through hoops to see my Cats.

That is what pisses me off.

Why do they feed me Arkansas and the Bowling Green Spectrum not offer the alternate like Dish and DirecTV does?

DirecTV and Dish offer the SEC Network and the Alternate. On my Spectrum they show SEC Network as 516 and the Alternate as 517, yet the bastards will not give up the band width for the second game.

Screw them. I could switch to DirecTV tomorrow. I told them that today.

I have watched a lot of games basketball and football, someone live streams on the football forum.
Why do we have to live stream when we pay for every thing?

Plus I record the games and save them. They will show it again next week but they will cut it down and I will miss plays. Why do I have to do that when I give them over $250 a month?

I don't know Mr. Bert, I was just saying what I do when UK is not on tv anywhere. I guess I am lucky because I get the alternate channel here in the Berg sometimes. If I don't get to see it I just wait for the replay

Sorry if I was nasty, but crap when you pay that much you should get something in return.

I am on my IPad, so if it is wrong it is Mr. Cook’s fault.

Totally understand Bert. I'll be honest, if it wasn't for sports, I'd do away with my satellite tomorrow.

Ha, I went OFF my diet on May 1st and just started back yesterday. I'm at 195 today and I was down to 180 when I went off of it. Should be able to get back to 180 for Thanksgiving.

Morning fellers & pretty lady.
Today is my Friday!! :raised_hands: :raised_hands:
Congrats on all the grandkids Bko. I got 1...would like to keep it that for a couple more years.
Earlier you guys were talking about playing golf...my plan is to play 18 on Thursday & 36 on Friday and 36 on Saturday. Barkley Lake...Boots Randolph course.
Good thing is most of it will be Scramble golf....which is also a bad thing [cheers][cheers][cheers]
I used to get frustrated...until I came to terms with my suckage. Now I just try to enjoy it regardless. I've tried playing focused & sober = not good, I've tried playing increasingly inebriated = still not good.

Just my 2 cents. Global warming is bs. Climate change....maybe, but it's not because of man. And man can't control weather. Earth is always changing, I've also been told it is always spinning...o_O

I laugh off the bad shots and just move on. Shot an 81 this morning. 3 double bogies. 3 birdies.

Hello and good morning to all in the D-League,

It's a sunny, crystal clear 72 degrees here in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area, headed for another scorcher of 97 later on. It got up to 97 yesterday also with a humid heat index of over 100. My son and his cross country team have had to re-structure their practices to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Same with our high school football and band.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here at work with a cup of smooth black coffee. Our office here at school this morning is sitting at a frosty 66 degrees. So, yeah, they did fix our AC pretty well, didn't they?

Like a few others, I'm also going to hit a strict diet here for the next six weeks or so. My doctor tells me that my "ideal" weight for my height and bone density is 172-178 range. I'm around 188 as I sit here today.

You all take care, enjoy this day, and be kind/respectful to each other.

Good luck with your diet. I'm doing shiite keto. It's serious.

Bert doing his happy dance when ymmot comes to visit with a new bourbon.

It's not just bourbon that I bring. I also hand him a napkin to wipe off the drool.

Have you thought about boycotting the football game? Seems to be the "IN" thing these days.

I see the Cats cracking the Top 25 after their third game.

I like the way you think!

They are now starting to show it. Pretty bad in the parts of Bahama they are showing.

A lot of that they have been showing was basically a shantytown. My point wasn't that there was no real damage or that it wasn't a terrible storm. My point was that no wooden shed, no telephone pole, no tree would be left standing if hit with 185 mph wind. Especially with it moving as slow as it was going.

Weather doesn't equal climate until it serves their purpose.
