Watching the Weather Channel...Jim Cantore has the eye goggles on. This is serious stuff now! In all seriousness, he's smart putting them on. I am interested to see what the Bahamas look like now. This storm sat on those islands for a while. Fortunately it keeps weakening and the cone of disaster keeps moving further out to the east.

Woot Woot! Ha, this house husband stuff is easy. I just got done and she isn't even home yet. Dishes, pick up/vacuum living room, load of laundry, grass mowed, weeds ate. I suppose I'll be cooking something for dinner as well.

Started back on my diet today. Haven't ingested anything today other than coffee and water. I'll eat once tonight and then play it by ear tomorrow.

Well, I played 9 holes today...I HATE the game. But, I'll put myself through the misery again next week.

I went through a golfing phase about 15 years ago and pretty much ended up at the same conclusion that you mention here. I played quite often for about 10 years. I would have a good round followed by several infuriating or downright embarrassing play. Seems like I just didn't have the natural timing, hand/eye coordination, or rhythm that is needed for consistency.

It all ended one day in Myrtle Beach, back around 2007, after a humiliating round where I shot over 100, playing with a group of pretty decent golfers, I had an epiphany and realized the following:

-Golf is difficult for me
-Golf can be very expensive and time consuming
-I pretty much suck at the game
-Playing really crappy golf is not fun for me
-It's foolish for me to pay lots of money and spend lots of time only to suck at the game, and as a result of crappy play, be miserable, not enjoying the game.
-I am done playing golf

I have not swung a golf club since then

And yet I get to play for free on a really nice course...and I STILL HATE the game...until the next birdie!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::alien: It's just a frustrating game for me. I can get off the tee box just fine then the wedges fail me. I can spray it off the tee box and the mid irons can get me back into the game. Then I can putt out of my mind one day and not make a 3 footer the next day. GOLF :chairshot:

I'm playing tomorrow morning. I might suck but I'll also be playing next Wednesday. I'm taking out some Mizuno MP14 blades tomorrow. I'll be throwing away over 20 years of technological advances but I doubt my score will suffer. We'll see.
I keep telling myself that I want to play a round with just a 6 iron, a 56 degree wedge and a putter and see what happens. Maybe toss in a hybrid. Oh well, I didn't do it today.

Got lucky and my wife's birthday is on my mothers birth DAY and my father's birth MONTH. Easy peasy! We got married on the 17th of Dec and my parents were married on the 17th of May. Have to keep her because I could never get that lucky with the numbers again.

My wife's birthday is 2 days after mine so, even easier.

Current wife's (#3) birthday is one day before ex-wife #1 and falls one day after New Years Day. Can easily remember.

Evening D
I hope all are safe and well
My daughter just texted me to let us know what our first grandson’s name is going to be: Logan Edward. I love it! His middle name is after my Dad. Logan is due on what would have been my Dad’s birthday. I sure hope that becomes his birthday as well.
My son and his wife are naming their little girl Kiara Elizabeth-Rose. The Rose is in honor of my Dad as well: he always grew roses.
So now, we will have Lily, Kiara and Logan to bless our lives. I can’t wait

Great names to be sure. Have not technically seen my grand kids in over three years. Skype about once a month. One is 5 (Annabelle), 3 are a few months over 3 years (Nathaniel, Thaddeus, Benjamin) the triplets, and 1 just turned 1 Friday last (Mathias).
One of the triplets Benjamin has Spina Bifida otherwise very healthy. Both parents in the medical field however, mother stays home now.

Morning all, Leaving Friday for Kentucky, may go to the game Saturday, Started a diet on May 1st. Went to the doctor and weighed in at 259, as of this morning, weigh 207. Walk 5 miles a day now and eat healthier. I live in a place where if you don't walk, and you're physically able to, that's on you.

When I took my physical for the RR I was 18 years old, was 6'1 and weighed 171....LOL. Glad that hurricane missed us, a lot of property is just getting fixed from Hurricane Irma, two years ago. Have a good day, talk at you later

Good Morning D League

Coffee is extra good today and we should be in for a pleasant day getting a nice breeze from what is going on over on the east coast. Temperature outside is 71° and we should get up to 84°. We have a slight chance of light rain. Thankfully not this much. The picture below was from a St Augustine hurricane in 1928 before global warming.

Great job taking off 52 lbs. What was your secret?

I like the dirty look. Looks like it's been working out on the line!
Looks like a coal car behind it.

It is a nice 67.1°F and sunshine here this early morning.

I don't plan on doing much today. Give my old rotten back a rest after physical therapy yesterday.

The roundup is working on my yard. The grass is yellow and in some places it is already brown. Bermuda is a hard grass to kill.

Good morning D-League. Full-on summer heat and humidity in the east today after two weeks of fall-like weather. Really muggy on my walk this morning.

Sounds like Florida is going to get a miss from Dorian, and it is losing some force as it hits the Carolinas. Good news. Praying for people in the Bahamas. I used to travel through there a lot in younger days and always liked the people down there.

Morning fellers & pretty lady.
Today is my Friday!! :raised_hands: :raised_hands:
Congrats on all the grandkids Bko. I got 1...would like to keep it that for a couple more years.
Earlier you guys were talking about playing golf...my plan is to play 18 on Thursday & 36 on Friday and 36 on Saturday. Barkley Lake...Boots Randolph course.
Good thing is most of it will be Scramble golf....which is also a bad thing [cheers][cheers][cheers]
I used to get frustrated...until I came to terms with my suckage. Now I just try to enjoy it regardless. I've tried playing focused & sober = not good, I've tried playing increasingly inebriated = still not good.

Just my 2 cents. Global warming is bs. Climate change....maybe, but it's not because of man. And man can't control weather. Earth is always changing, I've also been told it is always spinning...o_O

Congrats and well done! It's all about inputs and outputs.

Walking = awesome. I usually average 3 miles daily, counting back and forth to the bus stop. Previously, I cycled 10 miles daily up until February last year and walked another mile or so. Staying active keeps you younger.

Hey Ace, can you share with us about some of the diet changes you've made since you started your diet back on May 1 ?

Hello and good morning to all in the D-League,

It's a sunny, crystal clear 72 degrees here in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area, headed for another scorcher of 97 later on. It got up to 97 yesterday also with a humid heat index of over 100. My son and his cross country team have had to re-structure their practices to avoid the hottest parts of the day. Same with our high school football and band.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here at work with a cup of smooth black coffee. Our office here at school this morning is sitting at a frosty 66 degrees. So, yeah, they did fix our AC pretty well, didn't they?

Like a few others, I'm also going to hit a strict diet here for the next six weeks or so. My doctor tells me that my "ideal" weight for my height and bone density is 172-178 range. I'm around 188 as I sit here today.

You all take care, enjoy this day, and be kind/respectful to each other.
