Requesting prayers for the Bahamas they are getting crush. CAT 5 with sustained winds at 185 mph and gust up to 225. I can not imagine winds like this. If there is anything left it will be a miracle. And who knows where it will go from there. The strongest Atlantic storm on record.

Thoughts and prayers for all in the path of this monster storm. Hopefully it turns back out to sea and leaves the U.S. Coast alone.

Speaking of natural disasters this is a really good book if anyone is interested. Could have and should have been prevented. The flood not the book.

On the series "The Men who Built America", they talk about the flood and it's connection to Carnegie Steel.

Posts on RR. Seems to be doing fine.

Hello All, I am fine! I usually don;t post much after BB season, until FB starts back. My wife is off in the summer and we travel quite a bit.
We have been to Arizona twice, Kentucky a few times, to our house in the UP of Michigan, and to Ireland and Scotland, Belgium etc. Going back to Ky for a few days this Friday. Hope all are doing well!

Good to have you back Ace!

I had to do surgery on my right speaker yesterday. I noticed last week when I turned it on that it was dead. I saw the wires had been pulled off the posts. Go to put them back and see the crossover laying loose in the bottom and the wires were also pulled off that. Cat must have climbed up in there and got stuck in the wires.

Had to do the repairs with the speaker on the floor. When I put it together I had it up waist high on a bench which makes it much easier to solder. Hot glued the crossover back in and cranked it up.

I had a word with the cat and I'm pretty sure he's sorry it happened. Rocking on!

Welcome back. Upper Peninsula of Michigan is beautiful during summer, as are Ireland and Scotland. Glad y'all had a good time.

Hey Sawnee and others effected, on the latest radar looked like the storm is trying to go north. They showed a 6 hour in motion and right at the end it looked to be going northeast and trying to pull up towards the north. FCC
Right now Cat 5 Dorian has slowed to 1 mph with winds dropping to 165. With a high pressure it is expected to move to the Northeast. We should be OK on the Gulf but South Florida all the way up the East coast may have high winds and storm surge. Storm surge brings heavy water damage and from my experience the worst part of a hurricane. They are also saying as far inland as Orlando and Lakeland may have tropical winds. I am about 85 miles Northwest of there. .

We are in a wait and see status and so at my place it is business as usual. Storm shutters will remain in the garage and I will catch up on some yard work. .

Good Monday morning D League

We are looking at a current temperature of 77°F and the high may reach 88°F.. We may get wind gust rain showers as Dorian gets closer. Nothing of concern. I wonder what is left of the Bahamas.

The older I get the better coffee tastes. I am finishing up a pot as a continue to celebrating the first week of football. I was pleased with our performance Saturday and see areas we can improve that could make us a very solid team. Y'all take care.

Good morning! Are you watching hurricane porn on the weather channel? Take it with a grain of salt and understand that each and every wind speed number they are telling you is an exaggeration of what is actually occurring on the ground.

I don't recall hearing "climate change" yet, but it's coming. These jackboots have tripped over themselves lately because their predictions made over 10 years ago of increased number of hurricanes with increased intensity never came true. Just the opposite.

The rest of the world measures wind speed at 10 meters and takes an average for 10 minutes. We supposedly take the readings at 10 meters for 1 minute. 1 minute will yield a higher max speed. What we've started doing in the last few years though is giving the readings from the hurricane planes at 10,000 ft , or sometimes by estimates.

I was shown video last night of what was supposed to be 185mph wind striking the Bahamas. No way! Also, don't forget about tornadoes. Some of the damage you'll be shown is surely from an isolated tornado. That's the reason you'll see such tight shots of individual buildings when they want to show some destruction.

I'm not saying that hurricanes aren't dangerous or severe. I'm saying that there is a concentrated movement from our government agencies to push the narrative of man made global warming and they are not going to waste a good crisis to further their propaganda.

How many times do the facts have to prove their "truths" wrong before the American people call bullshit?

What do you think Rooster? You know more about this than any of us. Am I full of shit? I realize I'm not totally accurate but I think I'm looking in the right direction.
Yes you are right on. I have been through many of these and it is always over hyped. But today it is really over hyped and always with an agenda. Global warming is a hoax and we all know that. Since time began there have been horrible catastrophic weather happenings and there will be until the earth is gone. I should have stayed in Kentucky for the UK-Toledo game but the reports coming in were tracking it over my house so I decided not to take any chances and get my house hurricane ready. When you have a $25,000 minimum hurricane deductible you can not take any chances.

I have turned off the coverage and made a pitcher of ice tea to take outside and live my normal life.

We'll see the pictures, but if any portion of the Bahamas was truly hit by 185 mph winds, then that area will be scoured with nothing standing other than some rigid concrete structures. Nothing would have a roof and no tree would be in the ground.

They have already cried wolf so many times that people are starting to ignore them.

Well Al Gore said that New York would be under water by now. What went wrong with your lie Al?

Al Gore probably owns the house next to O'bama in Martha's Vineyard. They both set at about 3 feet above sea level. The last thing I would do is move to the ocean if I truly believed it was going to rise up and wash away my hard earned 15 million dollars.

Just saw some pictures from North Bahamas. A parking lot with cars sitting upright. Windows were broken by flying debris but there is no sign that 185 mph wind hit there. Street lights were still standing in the parking lot. Trees were still standing.

They have been hit by a very powerful storm and they are screwed for the foreseeable future, but they were NOT hit with the "MOST POWERFUL STORM TO EVER HIT!!!"

Here's what I know about the path a hurricane will take. It will take the path of least resistance. A hurricane doesn't really want to hit land but sometimes it just doesn't have anywhere else to go. Hurricanes aren't evil, they're just misunderstood.
