Good Morning D

Tommy, in the political thread does that ed323232323 remind you of someone who use to post here? Sure does me...

He doesn't remind me of anything because I put him on ignore after about 2 days of his shit. Wish everyone else would too, or at least stop replying to him.

Watching that Auburn clip, this year is going to suck in college football if everything is a foul. Unsportsmanlike to spike the ball? That wasn't even a manly spike. Was the guy who allowed the catch permitted to cry? Why isn't the guy who scored allowed to be happy?

Football is fast and brutal at times, just like life. If you don't like it, don't play, but don't take everyone else's joy away.

I think we may as well go ahead and put flags on their hips and institute a no contact below the waist or above the armpits rule because that's the direction we're heading.

I agree and I think they need to revisit targeting. I realize the danger of serious injury and if it is intentional we need a game suspension but. But some of this is very questionable. When a quarterback is in a sliding position and the defensive player in a mid air tackling mode it is impossible to change direction I am not sure I would bench them for the next game. If it is intentional helmet to helmet sure but if not it needs to be looked at. A 15 yard penalty of course.

Unintended consequences. Remember when "spearing" was the thing? Then it was "leading with the helmet". All of it put together will eventually make football unwatchable. Look what it's done to basketball. Rarely do they make two trips up and down the floor without referee interference.

Sometimes it has to be OK to just say "that's just the way the ball bounces".

Did some fishing yesterday but. did not report since it was first weekend of football. Football was the focus.

Fished today as well. Yesterday's report: LMB's 3 - Warrior-cat 1. Bass won that one.
Today: Warrior-cat 5 - LMB's 1. Nothing really big enough to keep except one but, I let him go too. Going again tomorrow.

LMB Sportsman Supreme.

That was a very weak call on the Auburn kid for being happy. It was bullshit.

  • Georgia State over Tennessee. Unbelievable. Never would have thought it.
  • Wyoming over Missouri. Unbelievable. Surprised.
  • North Carolina over South Carolina. Unbelievable. Do you thing Coach Muscamp was mad?
  • I figured Auburn would crush Oregon.
Memphis over Ole Miss. Not really an upset, but P5 teams still should not lose to Mid-majors.

Requesting prayers for the Bahamas they are getting crush. CAT 5 with sustained winds at 185 mph and gust up to 225. I can not imagine winds like this. If there is anything left it will be a miracle. And who knows where it will go from there. The strongest Atlantic storm on record.

I can't imagine those kinds of wind speeds. I really hope this just skirts the coastline. It would still be extremely dangerous but better than a direct hit. My sister lives in Sanford so I'm sure she'll have some bad weather regardless.

Thanks Don, I do too. So far we have perfect weather. I just got out of the pool and grilled a nice steak. Saying a prayer for the Bahamas. Who knows where this thing is headed. Maybe Georgia or the Carolinas if it turns east. If not Florida will be torn to pieces.

How it was it remains.

It's ironic that the most powerful hurricane to hit US soil (recorded history) was the Labor Day hurricane of 1935.
And to make things worse many had no warning. It was here before they knew it and came in at night 400 died and it was so powerful it flipped a train. Florida had a very small population in 1935. Today there are about 20 million more people here. .

Thankfully with new technology people have enough advanced warning to vamoose.

Point of interest, the Galveston hurricane of 1900 is the worst US natural disaster to this day. 6,000-12,000 deaths.
