D-League

How many regular posters do we have these days?
I'm fairly regular...this seems to help.

How does lunch sound this week for the D-League? Here's a possible meeting spot in Lyndon (close to Rooster). The place has been around since 1937. It closed for a few years and sold out to an upscale BBQ joint but reopened earlier this year. Haven't been since they closed. 12:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday? Any other suggestions?

Fine with me. Working folks with family like Bev likely have have more restrictions, so I'll stay flexible. My wife stayed in AZ to care for our critters and I'm not as restricted with her family as well.
I hope you can come on over. That's about how long it takes me to get to Bert's house.
Thanks now I know.

I am 2 hrs 15 min from Berts...
Usually work til 3:30-4, might be able to figure something out though & leave early. Redhead works til 10 Mon & Tues. Doesnt really matter when though.
I will do my best...
Bert is an additional option for me for me to ponder. Eville, if you make it fine. If not, nothing changes.

Yesterday at the State softball tournament we were in our fifth game when in inning 5, there was a pop up in foul territory towards the oppositions bench. I was on the mound and took off to try and get it when something popped in my calf. I immediately went into to limp mode. Could not run after that. In fact walking has been difficult. Thought at first it might be a tear but there is no discoloration. Had a 2 hour drive home and while it was a bit painful, I still got home OK. feels a little better this morning but, still difficult walking.

Sad part is, I was having my best hitting performance of the season. Got put out only once in those 5 games.

Good Sunday morning D League

Woke up this morning with every bone in my body aching. Some bones I didn't know I had. I spent a few days shoveling this week and it has hit me big time. I hire out the lawn mowing but do everything else myself. I might have to address this issue. We do have some good weather today with temperatures in the low 70's now with highs into the mid 80's. Sunshine and a nice breeze.

Good news for our basketball recruiting. The state university and local football teams are all practicing so that means football will soon be here.

I'll drink a few more cups of black coffee and get ready for church. I need a good service today to get my mind off of these aching bones. Make it a good day

Good morning! Whatever you guys decide is fine with me. Rooster, 82, and I could all ride down to Bert's together. Don't we have someone else right here in Louisville? Bev might be able to go on Friday but I thought there was someone else who lived nearby.

It is already 71.6°F and sunshine. I must mow the yard today. I should have mowed yesterday but I had company so I didn't.

It is supposed to get to 90°F again.

I am free most days this week for a visit. I only have to go to the store some time early in the week to pick up some medicine.

Good news on the recruiting front. I hope he can shoot lights out.

  • Good Morning, Y'all.
  • Another Friday. Time is aflying.
  • 64º in Johns Creek. Nice day. VFR. No clouds.
  • Today is my 76th birthday. Unbelievable. How can I be this damn old?
  • BLM should give safe-shooting lessons to the citizens so that they don't kill innocent bystanders while they are trying to murder each other. We have no law and order.
  • Be safe folks.
  • Get well sick ones.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.
Happy belated Birthday Don.

Warrior and Sawnee. Welcome to the "I just can't do that anymore" stage of life. I am surrounded by women in my family. Any problems have always gotten forwarded to me to take care of. Move something, fix something, whatever. About six months ago, in a ceremony at a family gathering I announced that I was turning over the patriarchy to my 28 years old grandson-in-law. Don't call me, call him. He is a good guy. Strong as an ox and has developed from a total klutz to a decent DIYer. Me? I'll just sit and drool in my cereal.

Retire, Don. You're running out of time. Just do it.

Interesting thoughts Chief. I’m a big guy and ‘only’ in my early 60s, and still feel I’m that go-to guy for the heavy lifting jobs for the wife, daughters, mother-in-law, women friends. But as Tennyson said, ‘we are not now that strength that in younger days moved earth and heaven.” I’m still half stove-up from wrestling an old refrigerator out of my basement and up a grade last Sunday. Bruised across both biceps. It’s pretty clear to me my days of being effective on jobs requiring brute strength are waning fast.

I believe my favorite martian is here:alien: and 55 has posted about his love for Linnig's. So I presume he's in the area. I'm fine with 82's lunch proposal, a trip to Berts. Whatever, I'm easy. Ky is home for me and I could be just as happy taking in a spin about the state & Ohio River enjoying the green, using the D-leaguers as points of interest along the way on my own. No way this needs to be a single event. I could easily do both or more with a big grin.

Waiting on the College Football season to get here.

Me too! I looked at the link for the top 25 breakout quarterbacks and kind of noticed that Terry Wilson is not mentioned. Troy has a qb worth mentioning, and Kent St., but not Kentucky? The guy who led UK to a 10 win season gets no mention at all, in any poll?

Human nature being what it is, I suppose it's better for us to be overlooked and disparaged based upon our history rather than have people telling them everyday how awesome they are. Put a fire in their belly. Fine with me.

Yeah, early 60's myself, will be 62 on Thursday and am still playing softball. It helps that I have stayed active with workouts and stretching 6 days a week. Can still do the splits (Not Chinese but American) and can kick above my head do to martial arts but, have been dealing with plantar fasciitis, achilles pain and now this. Will probably tone it down depending on how I recover from this last one.

I played my last game of softball when I was 40. Pulled a hamstring running down a fly ball that any competent shortstop would have dropped back and caught. Didn't pull it too bad at first but I shouldn't have gone to bat right after the initial pain. The next pain when I took off to first was much worse. We only had 10 guys so I stayed in the game. Took 3 more hits to get me home while I was hopping on one leg.

I ran on Friday at the golf course. I was about 30 yards from my cart when the phone rang. Impulse action from all the time I got calls about Dad. I actually ran pretty hard and it felt good. I was out of breath a little when I got there and it took a few minutes before I felt normal again, but later on I felt great. Must have got some things lined up that were askew.
