D-League

This stuff excites me. Will I live long enough to witness it?
Bert I was over at the Space Center this weekend and they said the telescope will be up by 2021. The life expectancy is 5 years but they want to get 10 years service out of it.

They also said a man or woman will go to Mars in the 2030's. Just in time for global warming to destroy earth. . I am not sure I can hang around until 2030. In 2033 I would be 90 but mama lived to be 95 so one never knows. I leave all of that in the hands of my Heavenly Father.

We can form a trio called the 76'ers

Or ...

  • Good Morning, Y'all.
  • Another Friday. Time is aflying.
  • 64º in Johns Creek. Nice day. VFR. No clouds.
  • Today is my 76th birthday. Unbelievable. How can I be this damn old?
  • BLM should give safe-shooting lessons to the citizens so that they don't kill innocent bystanders while they are trying to murder each other. We have no law and order.
  • Be safe folks.
  • Get well sick ones.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.
Happy Birthday Don!! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Don. I read somewhere that 76 is the new 75, so don't sweat it. But I suspect all us D-Leaguers can identify. It sure seems to be going fast.

A high school girlfriend lost a son this week to the drug scourge that is still ravaging Kentucky. That's had my thoughts firmly back in a small Kentucky town during a certain summer in the early 1970s when we were young and innocent and filled with life's magic, and there was no horizon out there we could see.

But lots of good times ahead for all of us. Hell, I'm looking forward to getting up in the Shenandoah hills this weekend, and having a few beers in a country tavern in a West Virginia town that feels a bit like Kentucky. Have a great day, D-Leaguers.
Tragic. A neighbor of mine lost his grandson earlier this year to a heroin overdose. He obviously didn't take it well.

It is true for me.

I was born and raised in Kentucky. Then lived in North Carolina, then back to Kentucky, then Florida, then Indiana, then Texas, then Maryland, then Florida again so when I retired my ass was back in Kentucky in three months (it takes a long time to sell an expensive home) otherwise I would have been back that month. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think about it almost every day. Not necessarily Kentucky but somewhere high in the mountains back there. I would have to leave my wife though. She is an Indiana girl and would never go for it. It's just too late to divorce her now. My family all left but eventually migrated back there.

Happy Birthday Don! I sure hope you took the day off. Enjoy it.

Leave the gun. Bring the cannolis.

My first thought as well.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 75°F. Temps should climb into the mid-90s here today.

I'm up early for the purposes of getting some work done. Must jump on the missing money site to file a claim for my daughter about a missing dividend check from ATMOS Energy. She sold her stock just as the check was issued about 5 years ago. Not a large amount of cash, but enough for two great meals at a nice restaurant plus a movie thereafter. She can use the money.

Apparently my ex-wife (her mom) and my daughter's boyfriend (father of my granddaughter) got into a helluva argument when he called one morning around 2 AM last weekend. He was drunk. My ex don't play. She lit into him pretty good. Heh.
