I saw a model of the Webb Telescope at the NASA Moon-plus-50 thing last week. And I watched a short video on its construction and deployment. Optimized for the infrared light spectrum it will be capable of seeing the luminous glow of the Big Bang, the formation of the first galaxies in the early universe, along with forming planetary systems among other things. It is a big sucker at 6.5 meters or 21 feet.It will see far beyond the observational capabilities of Hubble.

I'm not directing this at anyone...it's just how I view things I guess.
I love astronomy...I love it. But I look at it as a tool that God has given us to gaze at His wonder and greatness...I really do. Astronomers have been trying to see all the way back to the Big Bang (which I have no issue with) but there will always be that...WHAT created the Big Bang? Anyways, I've never had a problem with my belief in God and the wonders that I get to see through astronomy. God gave us a brain to learn with and expand.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. I agree completely with this. Every thing in the universe had to start somewhere and no one knows what is beyond the singularity before the big bang that some scientist believe started every where instead just one singular point. Which by the way has me questioning where is every where? We really know little about whats in our own backyard including many of the deepest parts of the ocean much less, the universe..
Maybe no fishing report this weekend either (2 weeks in a row), playing in the state men's softball tournament in Ardmore Oklahoma tomorrow. Depends on how well we do. If we go far I will need Sunday to recover, if not, fishing on Sunday morning.

It is Friday and we should have a pleasant weekend. There is a big BBQ Trump Rally being held on a farm outside of town tomorrow afternoon and I don't pass up good BBQ. The weather is forecast for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperature is 73° and. 86° should be our high today. During the showers we will have plenty of sunshine. I think I will tune up the lawn sprinkler system and then hit the pool to ease my aching bones.
I promise in the spirit of National Milkshake Day I will not let the sun set without having a refreshing milkshake. Make it a great day

Happy Birthday Don. I read somewhere that 76 is the new 75, so don't sweat it. But I suspect all us D-Leaguers can identify. It sure seems to be going fast.
A high school girlfriend lost a son this week to the drug scourge that is still ravaging Kentucky. That's had my thoughts firmly back in a small Kentucky town during a certain summer in the early 1970s when we were young and innocent and filled with life's magic, and there was no horizon out there we could see.
But lots of good times ahead for all of us. Hell, I'm looking forward to getting up in the Shenandoah hills this weekend, and having a few beers in a country tavern in a West Virginia town that feels a bit like Kentucky. Have a great day, D-Leaguers.
