I mowed today. I call it aqua mowing, but I could not wait or it would need to be raked.

Thursday my ex brother-in-law (wife's sisters first husband) had a bad stroke. He died yesterday morning at UL stroke unit when his brain would not stop swelling.

So this afternoon we have a viewing. Tomorrow a funeral. Getting old means that you lose your friends, family and some estranged family.

Christopher Hunt "Cookie". A good guy. He used to go rabbit hunting wearing a polo shirt. He never got cold. The picture below was taken last year. He was a character.

You are so right Bert. I am attending so many funerals lately I think when my time comes all of my friends will be gone. Recently all of those who have left are younger than me. Makes one sit and up in the chair and say "wow". Thank you Lord for another day.

Good Monday morning Currently 72° with a high of 82° this afternoon. We have a 40% chance of thunderstorms from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM according to the girl on the radio. We do need the rain so I am not going to complain. There were some powerful storms in the area yesterday with thousands out of power. We did not get them here. But in Florida one side of the road can be a downpour and across the road dry as Arizona. You can actually walk into the rain and back out of it.

Big day today for a local QB to make his college choice. Kentucky sure can use him.

It's a brisk 56* here after a weekend of muggy, humid, stormy weather. The cold front has swept it all away and now we'll have a sunny, clear 80* day.

The posts about those passing away before us are very sobering and should lead us all to take stock of our own lives and to appreciate the present moment that we have here. I can relate to this as, this calendar year, we have lost three fellow teacher co-worker colleauges, two of them suddenly to unexpected complications with illnesses. Each of them, I believe, in their 50's (age). One day they are here, the next they are not.

I hope all you good people are doing well, maintaining, and will have a nice day today.

only if ya got a 1099 on it...We had 1099's for right at 10 grand in casino winnings last year. Had state tax taken out but no federal ( federal is a big chunk ). I was reimbursed all the state I paid in out of state casino's ( so why do they even take it )..Had to pay feds some more..Showing losses did not help much at all if any...

Busy last few days...wedding is over & done with.
Back to reality & work. Yeah, it sucks!
Wedding went great. Had a great time w/family and friends during & afterwards.
The weather didn't cooperate, it could've been a nicer day as far as that goes.
The only excitement was the DJ. He was on his way to set up for the reception and had a wreck. A girl pulled out in front of him totaling his truck. Luckily we found another one and everything worked out fine.
