D-League

It is a windy and cloudy 65.3°F here. Yesterday I had to go to Bowling Green and when I came back we simply had a downpour. I have not seen it rain as hard since 1982 in Northern Florida on I-10. For 12 mile on I-65 we never got to 55 mph due to the volume of rain. Everyone had their flashing light on so that they could be seen.

I am getting ready for my 55th class reunion this June 22. I was the class President and it always falls on me. We have already sent the letters out with all the details. Now we have to follow up with phone calls. Hard work to try to herd cats.

Good morning D League

Current temperature 74° with a high expected this afternoon of 84°. The humidity is increasing which usually means some moisture falling from the sky but yesterday all we had at the house was sprinkles. We had thunder and lightning but no rain but my wife was at Home Depot about a mile from the house and she got a downpour that lasted about 10 minutes. We have a 20% chance today. Summer time is coming.

Nothing big going on today but tomorrow is the big BBQ on Moon Lake Ranch and rally for Donald Trump. This is going to be fun. Have a nice day

Hey D-League,
I hope everyone is doing well out there. We woke up to a muggy, 65 degrees, headed for 85 later on. We've had some crackling thunder/lightning and some pockets of heavy rain around here early this morning. Otherwise, just sticky, muggy, moist air; I guess summer is right around the corner.

-I haven't been on here in a little while, so I thought I might check in and see what's new
-Have all of our basketball players decided who is staying, who is leaving, and so on?
-Hopefull our football team is keeping in shape and staying on track for some good practices, learning, and mastering the schemes for the upcoming season.

-I've been playing around with some investments here lately and could really use some advice if any of you all have been successful and are willing to share your secrets.

Everyone, enjoy this day today.

This is a very rare sight down here as these big boys and girls are endangered. You may see one in the wild but 3 in your backyard ?

I've placed my first bet of the day. About 60 min to post.

Sounds like I'm going to have to go to the store with chick at some point today. Hopefully after a win.

They changed the TwinSpires website totally from what it had been for years. Taking a little getting used to but I guess I'll catch on by tomorrow.

Been invited to a couple of parties tomorrow or go to the golf course with the rowdy bunch. Told everyone we're staying home and doing the same thing we always do for Oaks and Derby. We're going to stay here where the food never gets stale and there's never a line for the bathroom since we each have our very own. Drinks aren't watered down and there is no beer line.

We'll still do things like go a play or an outdoor concert. Last year we went to a drag race at Ohio Valley Raceway. Neither of us want to go to anymore events where there are too many people and no structure to their movements.

Can you bet online for the Derby through the TwinSpires site? I've never placed a bet online but would like to for tomorrow's race.

Yes you can. Just tell em I sent you.

You should probably go ahead and sign up to make sure the deposit goes through. There was a time when you couldn't bet on the same day you joined but I don't know if that's still the rule or not.

Hey thanks! I put in my deposit and created an account. This'll definitely make the race more exciting.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. We also watch TVG2 all day because they're keyed in on Churchill for these two days. Those guys run down all the horses for the upcoming races and give out pretty good tips. I just hit my first bet because of a suggestion by the dude on the right. Second bet really, someone scratched and cancelled my first one.

Up on the day!

The Everly Bro's was here every year for many years!!! We used to set outside and listen to the them every year here in Central City! Yea that was a great era for music!!!
They were born into music. Their dad was a very good musician also. I remember the very first hits they came out with in the 1950's. My mother heard me playing "Wake Up Little Susie" and told me to never play that song again and requested prayer for me at church the next Sunday morning. We have come a long way baby

Hey y'all. OK, ymmot that event you was supposed to remember the time, and you said you couldn't ask again, right, now you can, but with penalty. Now, you might mention a time, in this manner: slur the hour, but say "thirty" loudly. Maybe she will say the hour then you're in business buddy. Glad to help as I'm sure it will go fine. FCC

She was talking to someone there she's going to visit with. I heard her say she would be there the 23rd but I couldn't tell if she gave her a time. I've taken her there before and the sun was just coming up as I was on my way home from the airport, but for some reason it seems like she's going to work half a day and then leave from there. In fact, now that I've typed that I'm pretty sure I'm going to take her to work that morning and then take her to the airport later.

Bert, how about Monday the 27th?

Even though your mother was right, I had to chuckle. She was looking out for your best interest. Wonder what she would say today Sawnee.....I'm pretty sure I know and she would be right again.

I have 3 teens in the house. Lots of stuff going on today, four letter word called life, as we acclimate our children to this world, to be good citizens. FCC.

"We've both been sound asleep, wake up, little Susie, and weep
The movie's over, it's four o'clock, and we're in trouble deep"

Righttttttttttt.

The only thing I've waxed lately is nostalgic. Ah, the good ole days!

Hey Yommet,, If you want to drive to Ashland sometime, you can be my guest at Bellefonte. Our club was built in 1929 and a past Bristish Open winner, Willie Parks, Jr., was the architect. We are the longest hosting venue of the AJGA in the country, and we held the Ky Amateur here a couple of years ago. We can play 18 holes and then have lunch in the dining room, or pub, before you head for home. I think you would like it. It is short, but a lot of trouble makes up for the lack of length. Zoysia tees and fairways, with bent grass greens. Always in good shape. If you're interested, just let me know and we'll set it up.

The portion of the song where they fell asleep on their date was more than people could handle in 1958. Fall asleep? Boy, you better not fall asleep in the back seat of a car with a girl much less sing the song. There is no way people today can relate to society in the 1950's. We had classes in school on how to treat a girl on a date. Always go to the door and meet the parents. Open the car door, pull back the chair to seat them. Always let them order first and keep your hands to yourself. Of course most of the girls had a big brother and a daddy with a gun so you didn't need to be told how to act. More than once.

I really did like the Everly Brothers music

Thanks Ben, I appreciate it. It's about a 3 hour drive for me to get there but I'm sure I could swing it.

Marked on the calendar. Let it be written, let it be done!
