D-League

Great story. Cotton mouths. Man oh man that is one snake that brings fear and caution. A diamond back rattle snake will at least warn you.. A cotton mouth is aggressive. I attended a poisonous snake seminar many years ago offered by an animal rights group.. The instructor insisted cotton mouths just want to be left alone and will not go on the offense but will run from trouble. I immediately spoke up and said that was about as crazy a statement as I have ever heard. Obviously the person had not be in the Florida wild. .......................

This.

That instructor (total ignorant ass) had never been around a cotton mouth.

My second move to Florida occurred in 1992. We were down looking for a place to live. A guy and girl couple at CSX from Detroit were staying in the next motel room next to us.

She got bit by a cotton mouth near the water. The s.o.b. (cotton mouth) followed her and hit her twice before they killed it. That is not the mark of a snake that wants to be left alone. The girl was in the hospital for two weeks.

A cotton mouth is pure evil.

I wonder how many folks that that instructor got hurt. Cotton mouths are the most aggressive snack that I have ever seen. Plus the cotton mouths in Kentucky are as nasty as the Florida, Georgia, Tennessee or South Carolina versions!

Sawnee, back in the late 80's we had a tough regional drought. Terrible, my baby Diana was about 3 years old. I watched as she keep staring into an old sand pile.
I walked over and there was 4 to 5 baby cottonmouths. I went crazy getting her back into the house. I went to the garage and not first weapon of choice grabbed the weed eater. Oh man I did some slicing and dicing.

I worked for my neighbor as General Manager of a Mobil Industrial Lubrication Business. During this time I get to my office and In the corner is a huge Cotton mouth. The only weapon I had was a 3 pronged coat hanger . It was a circus, miss, miss, miss hit. Went on about 10 minutes till I finally got a head shot.

Every snake that passes by me will face a certain death. My MOTTO is kill first then identify. They just give me the creeps.
My friend hope you removed the one in your garage.
Very scary, indeed. I don't like snakes either, but I don't kill non-venomous snakes if I have time to identify them.

I hate to see stuff like that.

It is a work of art and I am not a Catholic. I protested against that church but they are good folks.
This is tragic. France has pretty much gone secular and I doubt few people attended the church but as you indicated it is as work of art. Art that can never be replaced. The building itself was architecture from an age that can not be duplicated. Plus all of the contents and artifacts inside. It is very sad

I immediately spoke up and said that was about as crazy a statement as I have ever heard. Obviously the person had not be in the Florida wild. In the year 1977 I was fishing with three other friends on the Withlachoochee River. This is a very wild river that runs to the Gulf of Mexico and we were in a very remote area. Probably a good 15 miles from anything as the crow flies. One of my buddies asked me to take a long cane pole and check the depth. We were about 2 feet from shore. I thought it was about 2 or 3 feet deep and when I checked I must have hit a gator hole because I didn't reach bottom and my momentum threw me into the river. Above were live oak tree limbs hanging over the river and unknown to me cotton mouths were hanging from the limbs. As I hit the water two cotton mouths dropped into the water and another buddy yelled "COTTON MOUTHS". I swear I came out of that water so fast it had to set a world's record. When I got in the boat I was shaking all over. My friend took a his pistol and shot both of them. A cotton mouth will take you out of this world and I don't mess with them.

And yes I did get the black snake out of the garage and into some brush near the house. I want to keep him safe because I have so many pests that come out at night I need all of the help I can get.

DEATH AWAITS.

Read that the majority of the stuff was safe. Probably had it moved due to the renovations going on.

A horrible loss. It was a magnificent example of architecture and contained many artifacts, relics and artwork of the times. 12 million people a year experienced it’s grandor.

Hate to do it to you bud but I can't resist since we're discussing something in France.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 64°F. Clear. Should hit 80°F later today.

Any other departures aside from Washington, Johnson, Herro and, of course, Travis? Have not heard about others leaving.

Good Friday is this coming Friday, April 19. We're off work. I might get some real work done.

We'll check back later. Y'all behave.

good morning D League

The temperatures dipped into the 40's last night. Currently 49° and our high will be 81° with plenty of sunshine.

Sorry to hear about the fire at Notre Dame and I trust there is enough salvageable to rebuild and restore. It will be difficult and expensive. . I got a lot of spraying done yesterday and will tackle the palms today. Things are shaping up.

Trust all who are ailing are improving each day. Don and RailRoadKat our prayers continue for you.

Matt Jones is not doing it for me today.
I had to give up on him a long time ago. The program is juvenile and the target audience has to be from kindergarten through college. Once a person is a grown up you can listen to only so many jokes about bodily functions, favorite fast food restaurants and type of uniforms the Cats should be wearing. It just doesn't turn me on because there are many entertainment shows to listen to on the radio dial. He does well with the women and children.

If you want mature, solid information this website offers that and gives you the current information needed to keep up with UK sports. For example I read on HOB that the Cats are recruiting an 8th grader who is a 6'5, 310 lb OL/DL from East St Louis. How in the name of Sam does an 8th grader get so big. What are they feeding him?

Good morning to all, from suburban Ashland, where the sun is finally shining and the temperature is rebounding from 52 yesterday to 75 today. Had to go to the dentist yesterday and get a tooth fixed. It was a piece of cake. My dentist runs a gentle dental office. Hopefully, we hear start hearing some news about McDaniels in the next few days. Hope we get him, but if we don't, I still like our roster. EJ and NR just need to get into the weight room, and get stronger. Everyone have a great Tuesday.

Funny you mentioned a gentle dentist. I have an appointment on April 29 and the name of my dentist. The Gentle Dentist. LOL

Good morning D-League looks like another beautiful day here in the Berg in Western KY! Just to follow up about yesterday, my son is an engineer on the RR and was involved in an accident the other morning. Someone was setting on the tracks asleep and apparently he didn't hear the horn blaring or the sound or vibrations of the train and got hit. He woke up at the last second and tried to get of but it struck him, report is they were non-life threating injuries, but I have my doubts. My son told me that he wants to get back to work and not dwell on this. All the computer data has been checked and everything was done that could have been done to avoid this accident. Ya'll have a great day and praying for all of you that are hurting and morning the loss of loved ones! I don't know your hurts but GOD does!!!!!

I hope you have good luck with the cataract surgery. My wife and I had great results and have near perfect vision.

The diverticulosis can get rough. That humbles one. Do they restrict your diet or what?
