I forgot something I meant to say awhile ago. Thanks to those that mentioned Happy Chandler. I remember Kenny Walker's Senior year, happy sang our song and I tell you I cried too. I can tear up just thinking about it. Great memories. FCC.
Kenny came to the bank my wife worked at one year, so she calls and says guess who is here, Kenny Walker! I said get your picture and an autograph. She comes home with a picture of them and an autograph! She said Kenny asked her you mean my name still means something here!

Hey Cord. I had a run in with Kenny too. Starnes BBQ. Didn't recognize him at first. I was paying for my meal and turned around and there he was. He was so tall all I could see was a Cat logo on his jacket and upon seeing it I blurted out "go Cats" He said "You like the Cat"

When I looked up I about went nuts. I thanked him for all his hard work. He brought his lunchbox to the game, if you know what I mean. Also told him how it thrilled ,me when he won the NBA dunk contest. I even demonstrated his dunk. He told me I had a good memory. Anyway got several pictures as I announced to the patrons who it was in the house at Starnes BBQ (Don's favorite). FCC.

What do you mean about? You’ve been bat crap crazy for years.

I thought you were a sausage guy, although I have always thought that bacon is the most perfect food.

I eat about as much bacon every week as I do sausage. I get a huge order of bacon every Tues and Thurs on my way to get Dad. My wife cooks up a pound on Sat or Sun morning. Bacon and Sausage are the best meats for my diet. Fatter the better.

I just now ate a salad. [banana] Cut up a chicken breast along with bacon pieces for the meat. A handful of cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, 1/4 cup of tuscany olive oil and a 1/4 cup of ranch dressing. That should be enough fat for one meal.

I don't know if ya'll get the commercial with ole roy in your area but everytime I see I think like this. Hi ya'll recruits this is Ole Roy here with our team mascot Tarhole Ram aw shucks if ya'll will just come on down here to UnCheat we will give ya'll this brand new car no questions asked epically from the NCAA, also we will throw in a brand new diploma without even having to go to class! Can KY beat that son?!

Hey Cord. I tried your southwest chicken recipe this evening. We enjoyed it. Put salsa on one of them and that was good, too. Instead of cutting up breasts, I bought tenders.

I know you are doing the Keto. I have been doing Atkins. Next week I can transition into a few more carbs. I will have been on it 2 weeks, this Friday, and have lost 14 lbs. If I can lose another 7-8 lbs, I will maintain.

Good morning D-League

It is a chilly 35° says the nice lady on the radio with a high in the low 70's°. Bright sunshine will make it a pleasant day. The weather lady on the radio said this should be the last of our cold snaps this year. Lots of things going on

I'm headed to the kitchen for another cup of coffee. Trust all have a pleasant day and stay warm.

Morning, Sawnee. I hope she is right.

With my wife out of town I am on my own when it comes to eating and fixing my meals so I make the things that I love and that she will not eat. My favorites are

liver and onions
chicken gizzards
chicken legs and thighs (she eats only the breast)
ox tails
ham hocks
Vienna sausages
You get the idea. Things that I was raised on when times were hard and you put more water in the soup.

Good morning from Orlando. Currently 49°F. Expecting 73°F for a high today. Neighbor's roof had frost on it.

Yesterday, I walked 7 miles round trip to Orlando Brewing and back. Great exercise. Gorgeous day for a hike. I believe we topped out at 60°F. Walked past the Pulse Nightclub where the terror attack occurred a few years ago. Disturbing stuff.

Today, I plan on getting out and about via bus and on foot. Adventures await.

We will check back later. Y'all behave.

Morning D.
Thirsty Thursday.

I should've probably given up coffee for Lent...that would be a sacrifice! I have a question about Lent....does the "sacrificing" last til Easter or Palm Sunday?
Do Sundays count or no? I had a disagreement with a co worker...she said it starts on Ash Wednesday (obviously), ends on Easter and you don't count Sundays. Meaning (to her) you give something up during the week but not on Sundays. My thought was it lasts from Ash Wed til Palm Sunday and Sundays are included. Jesus was tempted for 40 days and rode in on Palm Sunday. If you get to cheat on Sunday that seems kinda pointless. No right answer I guess?

Oh well, have a great day errbody.

No offense Sawnee, but other than the legs and thighs, I am with your wife. I can eat Vienna sausages, with crackers, but it isn't a favorite.

I believe that it excludes Sundays and ends on Good Friday.

Good morning D! Not much going on here today, I have to go get my old timers fishing license (everything included) and my Peabody permit today and hopefully go trout fishing soon! I want to think each one of you for letting me into the D-League I enjoy the chatting with ya'll! Going to fix crockpot lasagna today for supper quick and easy! I have to do something to get back on the good side of the misses or sleep on the couch! You know these cold days causes sparks when you touch metal, I always kiss her by when she goes to work, but I always ground myself first by holding the door knob, but but I acted like I grabbed the door knob this morning and zapppppp right on the tip of her nose!!! It probably didn't help with me scooting my feet across the carpet first!! After she screamed she said you do that one more time and I'll force a kidney stone back in there YiKeeeeeees!!!!!! Then she said you are feeling better aren't you glad to have you back!!! Everybody have a great day! Still praying for all of you that are ailing and have lost loved ones! I don't know but GOD does!

No offense taken Ben. :sunglasses:

Very few people eat what I eat and I understand that. So when my wife is away, I revert to my childhood food. We had plenty of ham hocks, liver, gizzards, swamp cabbage, boiled peanuts and other things some people have not heard of or pass.

As my brother would call it, "rough grub."

Morning to all. Been working alot. So catching up. Good stuff by all as usual. When this website changed a few years ago, I couldn't find it for a couple of days. I kinda freaked out a bit. Was so glad when I I finally did. I think the first person I talked to was Don.

Anyway, thanks to all that hang their hat here. Great bunch of folks. Lots of wisdom and caring for one another. Funny. Sharing our faith. Seasons. Everyone here is themselves. Perhaps an unusual gathering. And a special hello to the lurkers. Gotta go. FCC.

It's kinda funny as I was growing up I didn' want any part of that "rough grub" then when I went into service I started to appreciate how good it was! Went in a whopping 147 pounds and 6 months later 174! It was kinda amazing how those who needed to gain weight gained it and those who needed to loose lost it! That was with everybody eating the same food! Now that rough grub is great grub!

Boiled Peanuts is one of the best things a man can eat.

My favorite snack food with Pork Rinds being a very close second. Zero carbs and lots of flavor,

Both my kids love boiled peanuts and I about puke when I smell them.

However, regular peanuts are wonderful, especially dry roasted.

Home sweet home! Dad and I had a great time today. We hit two piddler malls in Indiana. I found him a UK hooded sweatshirt that he wanted and while I was holding it up to see if it fit, a lady came passing by and said "that should be an Indiana shirt". I was wearing a UK hoodie at the time. I told her immediately that we were buying something to wear in public and that we had enough cleaning rags. The look on her face told me she didn't think it was as funny as my father did.

Got my wife to work on time this morning and they had her car done by noon today. Sleeping in tomorrow. Car cost about a lot more than I thought it would. Oh well, better than a payment.

I think I'll have another "big salad" for dinner tonight.

We need Travis back. Actually, we need Hagans back as well. Times gettin' tight!

Snowed on me a couple of times on the way home this afternoon and one of them was nearly white out conditions. Next minute, nothing. Thanks global warming!

Why did Ace on the river quit posting with us? Did Bert do something?

I guess they are an acquired taste. I was fed them as an infant so I acquired the taste a long time ago. Some people say they taste like pinto beans without the ham hocks. I am on the lanai eating them right now. "Florida goober peas"

Keep spending as much time with him as you can. You will treasure your time together, someday.
