D-League

21.4° F and still going down. It may be below 20 by the time the sun comes up. Yesterday we got some snow but it did not stick.

I am now scared of Ole Miss. It is like a trap game. I hope the boy come out mad as hell and takes it out on Ole Miss and especially Florida.

Bert, I am not convinced it is a trap game. Ole Miss is legit. They are long and athletic, like LSU, and they shoot the 3 well. Plus, it is their final home game, and we all know how senior nights go. Cats have to play with energy on the defensive end, or we will lose 2 in a row and be heading toward a 3 seed.

Good morning D League. In suburban Ashland it has quit snowing, and we only have about an inch on the ground. Roads are clear, except for some icy patches. Going to get down to 13 degrees tonight and may not get above freezing until Thursday. But, it is supposed to rebound to 60 by Sunday. Spring cannot get here quickly enough. Hopefully, it is not too far off. Everyone have a great day.

Good morning D-League from the very cold Berg 15 right now!!!!! ATXC I have been praying for you and your family!! Y31 I have great respect for you taking care of your father the way you are!!!! When my mom was in the nursing home I saw so many there that had no one that came to spend time with them. I use to go to the nursing station and ask them which patient hadn't been visited in a while so I would just step in and talk to them before I left. I have been through 8 surgeries in my life and this past week was the worst week I have ever had with that kidney boulder as the Dr. called it!!!! We the CATS took it on the chin but we will be back!!!! Hope every one has the best day possible and stay safe!!!!

This cold weather reminded me of what my grandfather told me one time when I was young, my lips were chapped really bad and mom was putting some chap stick on them, he said cordmaker you know what's best for them chapped lips don't you? I told him chap stick, he said no, he told me cow Schiff, it won't heal them but it will make you not lick them anymore!!!! Needless to say mom was not happy with him!!!!

Some of you might remember better than me but I remember a remark that Coach Rupp made one night that I had to get my Dad to explain. The Cats had played real good and when asked about it Coach Rupp said "Yeah we should have been on TV tonight". Evidently, UCLA was behind us in the polls. They played on TV that weekend, won, and then were ranked ahead of us. That's why Coach said what he did. FCC.

Y31 was reading your post about how long you have been watching or listening to the CATS, with that D-League who was the first Wildcat that you can remember listening to them playing? Mine was Cotton Nash listening to him play on the radio with my dad.
I was at UK when Cotton played. I saw all of his home games in Memorial Coliseum. I still say he was the smoothest player I have seen in a UK uniform and his shot was a thing of beauty. Made All American every year. And there were some great college players in those days like Jerry Lucas of Ohio State.

Cotton was King

I don't know how many of you know any thing about Muhlenberg Co. But we had a feller here named Mr. Corky Withrow that played basketball and baseball! I received a book for Christmas called Uncorked Kentucky sports legend. For those that like to read this is a very good book about his life! I don't like reading but when I started reading it I couldn't stop. I guess being from here in Muhlenberg, knowing all about the Golden Tide (Central City High school) then his battles with King Kelly was just really interesting!!! Also I guess while I was reading it they brought up people that I knew and I also knew his parents and had installed some carpet for them. Any way it is just a great sports book to read.

Afternoon D.
It. is. cold. And. it. stinks!
Ole Miss is gonna be tough.
Gut feel...we win Tuesday & Saturday, then roll in the SEC tournament.
FCC if the kids are complaining about how cold it is in the house...tell'em to go outside for awhile then come back inside. "Feels purty good don't it?!"
Son is on Spring Break this week...lucky him. (sarcasm - he's not going anywhere)
Spring is right around the block....

Cotton was my first UK hero. Then came Dampier and Riley. I was sad when my father informed me that Nash didn't play for UK any longer. I didn't have much understanding of college at that age. I took the losses harder back then as well.

Hey every body I've had a lot going on. This last game against UT I couldn't post before today. We shot a low percentage of free-throws and should have shot more . Man first of the game Herro drove the lane with 4 orange shirts converging, are you kidding me plenty of contact but not a foul. There has always been on to two games like this a year.

I had always heard that you pull a cow's tail up and kiss it on the rear. You won't lick them again, that way either.

In my first few years of 101, my Dad worked the K-Men's section underneath the overhang at about the 30 yd line. Cotton sat in this section. My Dad was traveling someplace and I filled in for him. Cotton gave his seat to a lady who knew his wife and they visited for most of the game. Cotton stood with me and we talked the entire game. What a great guy.

I know about him. Central City used to be a powerhouse in Ky HS basketball. Shame all these consolidations gobble up these schools with rich traditions.

The associated Press sure are ACC nut-danglers this time of year.3 ACC teams in top 4 and we come in #7. Play out the final games and then the SEC Tournament. Seed us as a 2, I'm satisfied.

Yep. Beat the number one team by 17 and you move up one. Get beaten by the same team, with a key player out, and you drop 3. That's they way it will always be.
