D-League

Welp, boys and girls, 55 years ago today this simple 19 year old hillbilly boy married a cute little barely-18 Indiana girl. We vowed to God, our families and our friends that it would be "til death do us part." We have endeavored to persevere and just might make it.

We invited the Kennedys (TS) to our wedding but, unfortunately, they could not make it. However, Trump is in town today (for our anniversary?) and we'll head out this afternoon for the Mesa Rally tonight. I'm sure he came for our anniversary but decided to fit in a rally to kill two birds with one stone.
Congratulations on the anniversary.

Congrats to your wife Starchief. She has to be a special person! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I saw a description of the folks who go to Trump rallies. They are evil people according to the talking heads on CNN. If you see some of those evil people please report them to CNN.

Good morning D- League from Ocala. Bright sunshiny day and nice little breeze. Temps in low 70's to 80's today.

Went to a great cookout at the Livestock Pavilion and the best thing in my opinion were the frog legs. Big and juicy and taste like chicken.

Getting pumped for tomorrow's game. Win and we are bowl eligible. Good times are here.

Politics are heating up. Starchief tell Trump we need a visit in Florida. It is important

Make it a great day, D.

... on the religious note:

I love these type of stories. Congratulations Starcheif. God is good. Next April will make 52 for us. I met her when she was 17 but we married when she was 20. She didn't want to marry to young.

I went to one here before and the people appeared to be normal ordinary folks. Boy, was I wrong. Scum, Nazis, deplorables, dregs of society, racists, homophobes, women-haters (even the women) and no telling who else. I still have the stink on me.

I did not like the accusation that they had to do it to compete with Nike. I sure hope UK is not letting that happen.
I know Cal has avoided some shady recruits since he has been here. Seeing that Zion Williamson’s name is being brought up, and finding out we were behind all of the schools on his list after he made his decision, now we may know why. Bill Self mentioned UNC and Duke, but the Adidas consultant did throw Kentucky into the conversation. I really think Nike was helping Duke get players. Odd how the top three freshman in the country all three decided to go to Duke. Including when Zions step father was asking for money, a house and a job. Cam Reddish was seen in California meeting with LeBron James before he chose Duke. Coach K was sure trying to deflect the negativity about college basketball recruiting recently by saying it was “clean”. The media would be destroying Cal if he had said something like that,

From what i have heard from a well vetted source, Zion wanted to come to KY since he was a freshman, but big money changed his mind, or his parents mind. Somehow, they now live in a 900,000 dollar house in Durham. Wonder how they swung that?

I thought it was awful strange how after he committed to Duke, it was pretty much known that we wasn’t even in the running for him from what he and his family said. After he committed, his step dad said that they were “straight up” with everyone and that Clemson had a mile and a half lead and that he wasn’t sure how Duke passed them. LOL all BS. If he had signed with Kentucky it would be all over ESPN and our program would get smoked. I’d bet on it after all of the trails are over next year (I think the last one is in the spring) the NCAA will do their usual of selective enforcement of the rules. The UNC case clearly showed how biased they are with the rules. 99 percent of programs would have got the death penalty. Heck they tried to destroy Bruce Pearl over a dang BBQ...but it’s ok for UNC to have fake classes for athletes for 20 years because they allowed some regular students to attend those classes. LOL

Congrats Starchief, good stuff.

My oldest daughter (47) and I were going to Cape Girardeau to be at President Trump's rally a few weeks ago. But it was cancelled. Drain the swamp. FCC.

That will make the Christmas song not be right at all.

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet
The words repeat
and on earth peace among those whom he favors!

:scream:

Bert, that's funny right there.

Yes, you have to use the word men there. Alot of songs, especially the traditional ones like the one you mention, are influenced by the King James. It's a fascinating story how the Bible finally was printed and got into peoples hands. There was one religious organization that was very much against it. Never did like them anyway. FCC..

Being a history buff, I understand what you mean. They wanted the bible only in Latin so that the common folks needed the priest to explain things and keep "THE CHURCH" in charge.

The Protestant movement surely screwed things up and then that instantly started the age of enlightenment. We are still moving forward instead of backwards.

Great News Bert for such a close friend!

Now I'm taking one step forward and 3 backward. I have the blood clot, treatment has gone well. Then I started some serious pain in my cervical and lumbar spines next . Had MRI's on both area's. Going to the orthopedic next month. In the mean time I will have to have a heart calf. I've previously had a heart attack and two arteries replaced. Don't know for sure what the heart calf will show, a very strong person both mentally and physically! .This is a great group here and I will keep you posted.
Very lucky to have the wife I have, She helps me in so,many ways,

As always Bert, you are spot on. FCC

Hey there! Just got to sit down for a few minutes. Been a busy dude today for some reason. Did the dishes and cleaned the oven and decided to mop the floor. That led to doing some laundry which led to gathering up all summer clothes and replacing them with winter clothes in my closet. I've done 6 loads of laundry so far and the last ones are in there now. Also mowed the grass front and back along with the ladies across the street. Put silicone around the perimeter of the stainless steel plate in my table because it was allowing water to seep in and gather in the drawer with the gas burners.

Must have been the sausage, egg, and cheese I had for breakfast or the extry strong coffee that got me going today.

Football tomorrow and basketball on Sunday. That's a full weekend and if you throw in the pre and post games, shew we! I'll be all Catted up come Monday.

Go ymmot, go! :grimace:

Just checking in D-League. Happy for Bert's good health news. I've been working from home all week and busier than I've been in a while.

I realized this afternoon that I hadn't driven a vehicle or walked more than 50 yards outside since Sunday. Oh my. I going to try to get out and about in the nearby hills of the Blue Ridge this weekend.

Looking forward to the Blue-White game. And hoping the football team gets back on the winning track. It's amazing they still could win out and be national champions -- however preposterous that sounds.

Hey congrats! Only 1 month before Kennedy was assassinated in November of '63. Coincidence? I think not. You are now a person of interest.

Sorry to hear.

I had blood clots after the colon cancer bout.

Wishing you only the best.

Tomorrow, I'll let you know tomorrow if I can attend Cats vs TN State game.
