D-League

I'm always looking for a better option. I still use my Discwasher from the 80's. I've had to buy more of the D-4+ cleaning fluid. High-Fi and audiophile shops (?) Got mine at a used vinyl record shop. Here's a link to ponder and edumicate youself Link

Thanks for the link. I'm going to Louisville tomorrow and I'll try and find something at a record store.

Check out Magnetic Tape and Recorder on Baxter Ave. They'll fix you up plus it's worth it just to check out all the equipment they have for sale. Seriously, it's like going back in time. Small place but damn I love it.

Took less than an hour. Sure does look good when it's wet. Kind of thinking now I should have gone ahead and put the spar varnish on it. Maybe later. Next year.

Good morning from ATX. We've got a lovely 66°F. Expecting an 81°F high today. It's my favorite time of the year.

Here's some good news:

I love our team!

Y'all behave.

Good morning all! We are coming back to Ky for a few days, My wife's father is in a rest home and she wants to visit him. Dementia is an awful disease. I will watch the cats at my son's house and I'm sure it will be packed there. Will be a good time. And I see where the game is a sellout! Hope Y'all have a nice day, will check in later

Morning D.

I looked out this morning and it felt like a line from Johnny Cash: “I ain’t seen the sunshine since I don’t know when.”

But hey, we get through this one and we can smell the weekend. Hope all is well for all you all.

Yes it is. My mother has been affected by the disease for nearly 15 years. She's still hanging in there, albeit in a nursing home.

Edit: Safe travels.

I'm watching my wife go through some emotional anguish right now. She's just over 50. Her best friend since she was a college girl at the University of Maryland has been told she has weeks -- maybe a month -- to live from the spread of breast cancer. My wife is doing most of the work caring for her friend, as the woman's parents are in their 80s and live out of town. It's a draining experience.

That is terrible. May God hold all of the hands.

Sorry to hear. Best of luck.

Thank God my mother got out from under it in just 10 years. It's the most insidious disease. I had to do some talking to my father and sister at the time about letting her go. It wasn't easy but it was the right thing to do and I'll never question myself about that. Thankfully, about a month ago, my father and I were at the cemetery and he said, "she's in a better place now and she's not suffering anymore". I got a tear in my eye because I was so happy to hear him say that.

62.6°F here and drizzle. More rain last night but only 1/4" in my rain gauge.

I am going to watch the circus on the hearing. Hopefully the nominee will not be lynched.

If I lived near you, I would sneak to your house under the cloak of darkness and pour water into your gauge every now and then. Other times I would pour some out. I might even go as far as taping a hand warmer behind your thermometer. It would be fun to read the fruits of my labor here on the D.

Don't forget that we get our new baseball stadium this year too. UK is moving up the ladder of the SEC in all aspects. It's a fun time!

Bless your wife. You're lucky to have a lady like that. Don't help her, listen to her.

@UK82 I didn't make it to magnetic tape today but I did stop by a record store on Frankfort Ave. and picked up one of these...

Everything is working fine now. I can't believe that the problem was as simple as I didn't connect a speaker wire correctly. Many thanks to you again! The Ted Nugent album is beyond repair because I can see visible scratches on it. The album I played today though, Joe Cocker, I Get By With A Little Help...is awesome. After cleaning it had a "brand new" sheen to it and there were no noises that shouldn't be there.

Nice! That looks like a Spin Clean machine. Frankfort Avenue, that must have been Matt Anthony's place. Small but a really good collection and their used records are in nice shape. The only other record store on Frankfort I can think of is Guestroom records. They specialize in Indie music.

So sorry Md. Horrible situation. Thoughts and prayers for your wife and her best friend and family.

Dad's in the hospital right now. Been there since Monday. He's not serious and the doctor told me today that he's there because of what they did to him. His blood pressure dropped during dialysis so they called an ambulance to take him to ER. Then while there he had blood in his stool prompting them to do a colonoscopy. Nothing there. Doc said it was due to his BP dropping so low. What they did that messed him up was to give him a bunch of fluids to raise his BP. Since his kidneys are basically nonfunctioning, it caused him to have trouble breathing and the symptoms of congestive heart failure.

He's in good spirits and had me bring him a contraband cheeseburger today. He's a trooper.

I had to watch my dear Grandmother waste away from that awful disease. It has to be difficult for your wife.

Yep, it was Guestroom. They had a discwasher knockoff for 20 bucks but I went for the heavy artillery. I told them you gave me the tt and I could afford to go top shelf. Dude said "someone GAVE you a turntable?" I told him yes, that's what UK fans do. I was wearing a UK shirt and neither of them said a word. I pegged them as UL fans as soon as I saw them.

Mailman has been good to me the last couple of days. Yesterday he brought me this...

for my medium egg. And today he brought me this...

k375345.001

Kitchenaid 10" nonstick skillet. Our last one got warped because...because it was cheap. This one is SS clad with a copper layer in the center. Should be adequate.

One more post and then I'm done for awhile. Made 8 lbs of sausage when I got home today. Store had pork sirloin, bone in, on sale for 99 cent a pound. My friend the butcher gave me a bunch of pork fat to go with it so I could make some good, healthy sausage. I'm letting it sit in the fridge overnight and then tomorrow I'll fry some up in my new pan. 184 lbs this morning. A new low since about 1989.

Thank you. It really is. Her father was a BRILLIANT man, could have been a physicist, brain surgeon etc. He was a wonderful lawyer for 60 years.Actually had a photographic memory. And now his mind is completely gone, doesn't even remember his kids names
