I'm gonna beat Tommy out for this prediction...Herro will be the fan favorite at the end of the year..
He's definitely my favorite today! Herro owns the court! :flushed::smiley::sunglasses::boom::pimp::basketball: Love Richards, Montgomery, Washington, Travis, Johnson, Hagans, Quickley & Green too! Wow! This is nuts. When Baker joins the party. :boom:

Happy Friday D League! Woop Woop!!
NOT at work today...golf scramble today. Benefits Special Olympics, and who I am kiddin? It benefits me too cuz I aint workin!....unfortunately I got a feeling my Manager is thinking the same thing o_O
Finally watched both games...waaay too early to predict, but one thing is certain. They're not gonna suck & wont lose 10 games. I like Quade at the point for the start of the season, but we'll see what Cal thinks. I guess he knows what he's doing...? I like Herro's bounce. Shep comparison is a good one. Loved the Go Big Blue chant at the end of the game from BBN. August...in the Bahamas...crazy.
I'm going to miss the Sunday game, travelling to PA.

Well wishes to all!
Like the saying goes....You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning! (kidding...sort of)

72.0° F here and 99% humidity. It rained a little over night.

I really got frustrated at the game last night because my local radio station quit transmitting the game. Thanks for the Iheart suggestion as I normally do not have to depend on that for coverage.

Ymmot, I am still hoping and praying that the whole game will be had today. Usually they don't use the local power for the cameras. My son in law used to provide power for sporting events using generators. I hope that was the case yesterday.

I need to mow today, but it is way too wet. I may have to bale the hay by tomorrow.

I hope you're right Bert but Jones said on the post game that the only people who saw it were the people there and the ones who saw his periscope. I think he said there were about 35,000 watching his IPhone feed. I tried to watch some of it on KSR but it wasn't worth it. He also said that of any part of the game to miss, that was it because the Cats didn't play very well during that time. Might be because they hadn't practiced in the dark yet.

Mornin' D. A lot crisper performance from the Cats last night. I don't think one can get too high or too low from these exhibition games. But it does seem to me this can be a fairly exciting team, with nine, maybe ten guys who are athletic, talented, have immense desire to succeed and can keep their egos in check. That would give Cal a chance to just grind down all but a hand full of college basketball teams by the last ten minutes, just like we've sen the past two days. And, as for that hand full, I'd guess few if any are more talented 1-10.

Here's a question for the D. How many college teams do you think will be as good as the team we faced last night? I would think that number would be very small. In fact, I'd say that number might be 2.

I'm going to go ahead and say that no college team can beat us this year. Although, I can't say that we won't manage to beat ourselves at some point.

Well, Ymmot, I tend to be on the cautious side, but I'm not ready to go that far yet. The Argentinian team would have been a beast with all its players, and with something on the line. But a couple guys weren't there, and this wasn't a consequential game for them.

What I WOULD say, is that there are probably only a few teams that can withstand a rotation of nine or ten guys, all of whom are starter-quality, when that rotation is handled right. People say you only need 6-7 guys to win it. Well, that's true unless the other team has 9-10 as good as your 6-7. Then, the pressure from all the different combinations and from being defended by fresh players all night wears you out.

The Cats will lose some games with the murderous schedule UK has. But I love the possibilities if these guys can stay focused, healthy, determined, with egos in check, through March.

Good game last night. This is going to be a great team if they stay healthy. Very few teams will be able to match up. We'll learn more tomorrow because that should be their toughest opponent. Still, for this early on they look better than I expected. Hell, Big Blue Madness is still over 2 months away.

Games that we could lose:
Duke- Indy
North Carolina- Chicago
Kansas
Auburn
@Tennessee

Could see us dropping one of those. Other tricky games could be @missstate, @Florida, @Vandy

I would be thrilled to see them only drop 3 games going into March.

Yes, the games haven't been played and that's why I watch. That being said, the only team with equivalent talent is maybe Duke. I do not expect to lose to them or anyone else. A special group of cats, these guys stay focused, they can beat anyone they play.

Morning D
Coffee in hand
Really enjoyed that game last night
They looked a lot more comfortable. Not quite in sync yet but that will come. Loved they never let up and responded to each run well
Going to be headed out for the day with my Mom. Should be a good one
Y’all be good too

Some people charge for being good.

Me? I'm good for nothing.

I will not watch one second of pro football this season. That is my protest against the protesters. **** them. I mean it.
It is hard to have empathy for a poor man who makes $2,000,000 a year when he is telling me that society mistreats him.

Do they realize they may be messing with their revenue stream?

I'm empathetic with your feelings and that response. The football audience has always been patriotic. Fandom is tribal community (customer) support. It's about competition and scoreboard. When an entertainment product is no longer entertaining to customers. They won't buy. The owners hear you. They need to be free to manage their team the way they see fit. Then folks choose who they support and when.

Yeah but the NFL is banking on male cheerleaders to bring the audience back. That'll solve the problem. Great idea guys. Viewership is going to tank even further.

I guess my Sundays will continue to be NFL free again this Fall/Winter.

No luck. I can't believe that they did not have backup power.

  • Good afternoon, D-Leagueanites.
  • 72 degrees in Johns Creek this morning. We had rain last night. El Nino or something going on.
  • I watched most of the 1st half then Tyler Herro shot the lights out. I listened to the last 10 minutes of the game on I-Heart radio. It was great. We were 4 point dogs in that game I think.
  • The team looked good.
  • The shooting was awesome.
  • I cheered for the team in black for a few minutes. You know ......... Go Big Black.
  • I just love our Blue road uniforms.
  • A fun season is coming.

I hope we get pushed harder tomorrow night. Want to see how they respond if they think they might lose.

I wonder if Cal will coach tomorrow night or is it Robic's turn?

Don't forget that last night happened without Montgomery. With him and possibly Baker we are just insanely deep. Hell, we're insanely deep without them. Ludicrous deep.

Is the national media saying anything about the trip? I would think when we win tomorrow night they will have to take notice and give it some discussion. I don't believe we'll be sneaking up on anybody this year. They'll hear us coming.

How about Green with that turnaround jumper off the backboard? That was beautiful and a shot he could get off whenever he wants. Don and I like it when they use the backboard.

Wife and I are going out to eat tonight. Don't know where yet but I would assume there is a steak in my near future.
