The ribs were as good as any we have ever cooked. Just perfect. QB's baked beans. My daughter provided mac & cheese and crunchy salad. Butter cake brownies for dessert. What a meal!

Cows at the neighboring farm woke me up around 4 AM with their mooing. Its no wonder that farmers get up early with all the racket that farm animals make.

That's the time that Granddaddy arose each morning. He went to bed at 20:00 and got up at 0400 to go milk about 35 Jersey cows. Breakfast at 0700 and then to the fields. He did this his whole life. Cancer killed him at age 74. Hard-working man.

We got almost 1 inch of rain this morning in one half hour according to the rain gauge.

Ymmot, I smoked seven racks of baby backs yesterday. I should have gotten the rib racks out, but I did not. It worked out. They were very good. Finished them with butter and brown sugar. It was hard to do with all of those ribs. That is the most that I have ever done at one time. My fire was perfect. $100 worth.
I wish all sheriffs were like David Clarke.

I need 3-4 days off to visit my 1st cousin's farm. It is about a 6 hour drive. I love going there and seeing farm living up close. He keeps a herd of 80-120 black angus. A couple of bulls. He says that beef prices suck right now. But I can't take off right now. I'd like to see my Aunt and Uncle also. 90 and 87. Dang it.
