That is a trick question because he isn't a steroid meathead so Vince would never sign him anyway.<——- Trying to imagine Vince figuring out what to do with Hook

Cody was criticized far too much. He is a guy who has become underrated in so many ways. I hope he holds the WWE title at some point and retires in AEW.I’m honestly pretty messed up over Cody leaving lol. I know… I know… mark this, mark that. However Cody really did create AEW. He left the giant and proved there is amazing wrestling outside of the wwe and gave fans a chance to watch something different. Idk if it’s because of the fans constantly shitting on him, or the feud with the elite. It could be as simple as AEW not offering him a huge contract he was asking for. Perhaps TK couldn’t afford him with all the other contracts he’s been handing out (though I find that EXTREMELY unlikely).
i do know Cody has been shit on more then he should have been. His feud with Agogo was bad, but no one has ever had every feud be perfect. He brought in a lot of good talent. He was a great PR guy and was getting a lot of TV time on Big Show and his own reality show. I’m really hoping this doesn’t come back to bite not only his ass, but the fan’s ass as well.
They'll give him a push right away to stick it to AEW but it won't be long before they bury him as some midcard jobber to Roman and Brock. He might even be lucky to get that. Vince isn't going to let it slide that one of his talents left to start their top competitor and routinely beat one of his own products in NXT. Wouldn't surprise me if he had Cody do nothing but dark matches and house shows before long. Then when Cody asks for his release, Vince will pull a Mustafa Ali and say nope. Man has buried better talents for doing far less than what Cody did by creating AEW.I haven’t watched WWE in years, where would Cody fall in their pecking order?
Really have a hard time seeing him leaving AEW, unless he straight retires from wrestling or the backstage relationships are really that strained with him (which have been rumored).
Not sure booking a 57-year-old who hasn't wrestled in 19 years would qualify as improved booking. So Austin is gonna have a match at WM?
Sounds like AEW woke WWE up but really need improvement in booking or it’ll be a bunch of hokey nonsense.
He tore his Rotator cuff in 2016 before Wrestlemania 32. At 57 he will probably tear an Achilles and a rotator cuff in 2022.So Austin is gonna have a match at WM?

About a month ago, Cody was doing interviews talking about all of the wild things AEW had planned for his character.Cody was criticized far too much. He is a guy who has become underrated in so many ways. I hope he holds the WWE title at some point and retires in AEW.

Pretty sure Austin tore his rotator cuff just throwing punches. That is pretty fragile.Meh sting wasn’t supposed to wrestle again and is now an active wrestler - never say never unless the doc doesn’t clear him. Prob end up doing a tag match where he ends up doing 2 moves in order to boost ticket sales
Not to undermine what you're saying, but didn't Steve go through some kind of new, experimental tech like cryo-freezing or some shit?Meh sting wasn’t supposed to wrestle again and is now an active wrestler - never say never unless the doc doesn’t clear him. I would have preferred Sting had stayed out of the ring due to his injury but that is up to him. Austin can obviously make his own decisions but torn rotator cuffs are brutal and easily occur when you're old.The ones complaining about Austin wrestling one match probably yanked it when Sting debuted for AEW.
That's true. I legit thought Sting was gonna die at that Night of Champions show.I would have preferred Sting had stayed out of the ring due to his injury but that is up to him. Austin can obviously make his own decisions but torn rotator cuffs are brutal and easily occur when you're old.
I wasn't a fan of it, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how good he still is at his age. I'd still rather see one of the other talents on the roster get in-ring time over him though. The ones complaining about Austin wrestling one match probably yanked it when Sting debuted for AEW.
They could do one of those cinematic matches with Austin like that did with the Undertaker/AJ or Stroman/The Fiend. I think that would be the way to go if they do indeed get Austin to agree. Not sure booking a 57-year-old who hasn't wrestled in 19 years would qualify as improved booking.
Seems like more of the same BS that many fans complain about: bringing in a geriatric to take a prime spot from a star talent.
SRS said its not a work but he'd expect Cody ot retire in AEW later on.
As for where he'd fall in terms of the roster? He is a main eventer and would be one of their top 10 guys on the roster. What he did for his career after he left WWE is astounding.
Part of me still wants to believe this is some elaborate work.
I could care less about Brandi but I can’t see AEW without Cody. Heck there probably wouldn’t be an AEW without him.
If Cody goes to WWE, I am sure Vince will make it a big splash and later embarrass Cody. Vince will have him doing jobs for Gillburg or that chinless guy they had A.J.Styles losing too. Wonder if Cody will talk about being in the minor leagues in reference to AEW.... I am curious how WWE would deal with Brandi.I disagree. Cody is a lifelong mid carder who might occasionally be placed in a main event.
He’s definitely not his dad, and a convincing argument could be made he’s not even as successful in wrestling as his older brother. Both are multiple time tag and mid-level belt holders. Neither one has held a world title unless you count Cody’s ROH title run, which I do not. It’s akin to making a AAA all-star team.
He will be used as a upper mid carder in WWE. Combine that with helping start a rival promotion, constantly bashing WWE in 2019 and Vince’s extreme pettiness, I look for Cody to debut with decent fanfare but be used as a jobber to the stars after his first 60 days are up.

Someone made a good point - some of this could be about Cody leveraging his stardom and tv show into more of a Hollywood type like rock/Cena/Sasha/miz and wwe has more of an entertainment platform then aew doesIf Cody goes to WWE, I am sure Vince will make it a big splash and later embarrass Cody. Interesting, maybe Cody will take over for the Miz in the Marine franchise and do The Marine part 17.Someone made a good point - some of this could be about Cody leveraging his stardom and tv show into more of a Hollywood type like rock/Cena/Sasha/miz and wwe has more of an entertainment platform then aew does
Yep. He had a nice renaissance until AEW started opening the checkbook and he quickly rerouted back to midcard hell where his career has always been.No one truly gives a shit about Cody Rhodes. He’s fine. That’s about it.
