Why did it take until today for WWE to release him? It was pretty clear on Saturday night that he had relapsed. I would have figured they would have released him bright and early Monday morning.
It’s unfortunate b/c he could have had a really great career but the addiction he will probably be more remembered for and just having a pretty good career - hate to see it and hope Matt convinces him to clean up.
There’s newer video from that night that shows Jeff up close and he looks sober. Even the way he acted in the ring didn’t look like a classic drug related thing. Looked more like a health related deal. His family has come out and said he’s fine and his wife seems pissed at the story about him turning down rehab.
Everything could be exactly like they say it is. Or Jeff could have been trying to get himself released and wwe put out the rehab stuff to make them look better. Who knows. Either is believable with Jeff’s drug history and wwe’s history of lying about released talent.

which reminds me, I met him at a comic con in Lexington several years ago. I was AMAZED at how good he looked. Not to say that he was in peak form or anything, but if you told me a 60+ year old man with the history he had would look happy and in decent shape I'd have just smacked you in the head.

Agreed. The battle royal was pretty lame but the Punk promo and MJF vignette were awesome.

He has been to rehab before. I believe he has been multiple times. He was doing backyard wrestling in 1992. That puts him around 30 years doing stupid stuff. He probably needs to retire. Maybe once he is not swanton bombing himself to a wheel chair maybe he will get some clarity. It is all up to him.
His brother should be finishing up his career. From what I read his back is in really bad shape.
I agree he needs to retire. I think the problem is that wrestling is pretty much all he seems to know. He clearly has a habit that needs money to fuel it. And if he can't admit that he has a problem then there isn't much anyone can do.
I don't think this is going to end well. Even if he can get clean, what job outside of wrestling is he qualified for. Somehow I doubt that he's been investing his money. He seems like a good guy but sometimes that doesn't matter.
It is all up to him. He could live at his brother's house and be a Starbucks barista for a year but continuously destroying your body and then having to manage that pain and you are an addict isn't going to work.

zero people in the mainstream know who Adam Cole is first of all. Danielson and punk have a bit of mainstream appeal, but nothing on the level of previous stars.
my friends, who are casual wrestling fans, watched the initial punk stuff and said nothing else held their attention and would only watch if they were sitting around…don’t fill the need to dvr it and watch later
