F—k money and meat sauce.

Hilarious table placement.

I know he’s toeing the company line, but SummerSlam was a C+ at best. We didn’t need 4 hours, the Goldberg match was crap, the Bliss match didn’t need to be on the card and nothing really wowed me as must see.

I guarantee the 1998 Highway to Hell SummerSlam grossed more if you add ticket sales, PPV buys and merch.

Booker’s comments on Punk were beyond stupid. Said his debut was a failure because he mentioned wwe. 😂

I agree with you here. Booker’s comments spoken like a true company man.

Fans would’ve been disappointed if Punk didn’t throw some shade at WWE. I remember the Monday Night Wars when WCW used to take shots at “New York” while WWF guys fired off jabs at “Dubya Sea Dubya”

That’s what we wanted to see.

Don't forget Scheme Gene, The Huckster and Nacho Man.

Looks like AEW is getting preempted twice in October for NHL Hockey on TNT, October 13th and 20th. They've already announced they will air on the 23rd.

Yeah I saw Jericho say something about the Saturday show being on his cruise. He mentioned there would be talent other than AEW there and would give info later.

Of all the records, buzz, ratings and so on that Punk’s debut did... this by far is the most impressive IMO. Those Bullet Club shirts were EVERYWHERE for many years and you still see them a lot although not as much as you used to.

So are they saying this Punk shirt sold more overall shirts than the total number of the bone soldier bullet club shirt total over the 7 year period it’s been out? If that’s what they mean then that blows my mind. I don’t know how that’s even possible.

If that’s the case then TK could probably pay a lot of Punks contract off those 3 days of shirt sales alone. AEW continues to be the top tshirt company in all of tshirt companies...
Plan on getting one soon.

What ever happened to Braun Strowman?

He should have been champ, his heat was unreal and the last Tshirt I bought at WM in New Orleans.

Ya - sorry guess no one caught my sarcasm

Lol, my apologies. I agree with ya. I bet AEW, privately, thought they’d get a lot more
TV ratings now and TV ratings in the 80s and 90s are much different. For one most people don’t have a cable service provider now. The majority of young people don’t own TVs and the ones who do only stream. So 1.5 million on a given night is extremely good and what WWE does on Friday nights it’s even better. Nearly 1/3 of the country were cable tv subscribers 5 years ago and that number has been cut in half. I don’t really understand why people pay attention to tv ratings if I’m being honest.

Was bored when doing some Cornette art and turned on Little Shop of horrors…

Tony Khan = Rick Moranis

I’m trying to comprehend this - so if raw does 2 million that’s equivalent to 6 million in the attitude era days?

I’ll tell you why I pay attention, is because I know when a show is doing number the commercial ads will start paying more for those slots, and when that happens more money flows to the company allowing them to then put more into their product.

That’s a huge point for AEW in competing with WWE. Once that happens it actually allows them to compete on a close to same playing field.

Dynamite Preview For Tonight

CM Punk makes his debut on Dynamite
Brock Anderson vs. Malakai Black.
AEW Tag Team Eliminator Tournament: The Lucha Brothers vs. The Varsity Blondes.
Orange Cassidy vs. Matt Hardy.
Chris Jericho will address his future.
The Gunn Club vs. The Factory with Paul Wight as the special guest commentator.
The Wingmen vs. Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston & Darby Allin.
Jaimie Hayter vs. Red Velvet.

Saw a report the Dynamite after All Out in Cinncy had already sold between 7,000- 8,000 tickets. Think the arena will hold about 10,000 so it could sell out.

Not sure that’s the card I’d put together for Punk’s first dynamite. I had to google the wingmen, forgot all about those guys or that they were a stable.

I know for sure I don’t watch commercials - my dvr has a skip ahead feature that fast fwd thru commercials and resumes when the program starts again

Yeah that's what I was thinking and they just added the Jericho thing and the six man last night.

I have heard guys say they can't take off to be with their families very long because when they come back their spot may be taken. That must suck as a father or mother in the business.
I can’t see Hangman losing his spot. That dude is over as hell! Plus with AEW and no house shows, less traveling he can be home more

Yes that is true. Just last week I was listening to Lance Storm talk about that. He was on a tour of Japan when his first child was born. He said he didn't even consider asking off to go back to Canada because he was worried he wouldn't have a spot on the next tour.

If you're going to continually post in a wrestling thread even though you hate everything about the current product despite not watching it you're going to have to do a little leg work to keep up.
Sorry I didn’t see your response…I have you on ignore. Try to keep up because I don’t who this wrestling writer ok? Ok.

and it’s honestly none of your ****ing business why I post here. This isn’t a current wrestling thread…I talk old wrestling with a few folks on here, so piss off.

It’s a public thread, so saying it’s none of your business is ironic. Nonetheless, do you have anything new to add about old wrestling? And what is “old” to you?

No offense, but another ignore…but hey, feel free to see what I’ve posted in this thread and there’s your answer. Later
