The best I remember that kind of box was more like '85 or '86 here. The one I described was '76 when we first got it.

I honestly don't even remember having cable before that box. Early to mid 80's is the only memory I really had of cable as a kid. I was born in 73 and probably wouldn't have remembered anything before that box.

You only would have had it if you had HBO which was the only premium channel in existence at the time. It was really just a security lock to keep kids from watching without permission.
