I’ll hold you to it! Our path it’s the easiest I’ve seen on paper in a long time lets see what Calipari does with it! This season should be a Final 4 / Championship or it’s a total bust! Calipari has more experience than what he’s ever had to mix in with good freshmen. If he couldn’t win it in 2015 with that team or if he can’t win it with an experienced team like this in 2022. Then the guy will never win another Championship here at UK!
One thing you need to understand 5 star, he could win the ship this year and I still won't like him. Its not because he is a coach or our coach, I just don't like the guy period. I watched that interview last night and finally turned it off. Cal seems a shell of his old self...he just isn't entertaining anymore. I cringed when he said what he said about the shootaround....even if that is true (never know with Cal), not something you want to advertise on national tv to the ESPN people, other coaches watching, players watching, potential future recruits and most importantly, (not really) the UK fans.
I am assuming our guys still did shootaround before the game when they shoot, but didn't have an official team one earlier in the morning? I think it is a much ado about nothing excuse from Cal on while we shot 10% from 3...I think the late game on Friday and then playing again Saturday bit us. That goes back to how screwed UK was on SEC Scheduling this season.
Regardless, the man has no filter. I am surprised this is not a much longer thread at this point with our fans. Ultimately I am not sure beating UT and A&M even gets UK the last 1 seed anyways. I will also say the top half of the East seems tougher to me than the bottom half, especially when you look at 2nd round games. We can argue UCLA vs. Purdue all day but UNC/Marquette (UNC rematch? No Thanks, unless Elite 8) is tougher than Murray/San Fran (not taking the 49ers either).

Trying to save their legs because of the 2nd game in a row. Thought because the way they shot the ball the night before that they could continue to shoot it well. There was a game before our game and they would lose anything they would have gained from the shoot around.

Even with the game the night before you still aren't accustomed to shooting in a different gym than what you are used to. These are young men so having a game the night before shouldn't be a problem from an energy perspective so saving their legs might not be necessary. Warming up, then sitting, and then warming up again before the game should still give them the benefits of a shootaround.
Another way a Head Coach could look at these things. I can see it from both sides. Hindsight, is as they say, always 20/20.

To not have had a shoot around is appalling, but to have the audacity to tell it is atrociously alarming.
Probably good Cal did this. We had some haters getting nearly suicidal. Now they have a glimmer of hope because we lost. They take such pride in the program’s occasional failures.
John Daly is the only one I ever saw do it. Looked like he rolled in after a rough night at the casino, grabbed his driver, and ripped it down the middle.

We’re well aware. He has had Cal’s number. Would be nice if he could parlay into a FF for once so it’s not so embarrassing for us.
Worts part is not knowing whether to believe anything he blurts out .. at times its like he's not even coherent . At other times , he's near brilliant . Hes an odd guy . Was the very best , I think 2015 knocked him off course and her hasnt fully recovered .

UK would never do this, but Arizona took a chance with an assistant coach & he seems to have turned out pretty well. Have watched them all year, they play hard, fast & have an offensive structure. They got numerous layups against UCLA Saturday night. He did much better with those guys than Miller did.

If he was the coach that he thinks he is, UK would have at least 2 more titles...........1 his first year & 2015
He would also have 1 @ Memphis if he was that great
He is a mediocre coach that has no system and has no ability to make in game adjustments
