Said he didn't feel the pressure he felt with Towns because he knew he was leaving. Said he doesn't feel that pressure with Skal and is coaching him like a normal freshman.

That's not surprising at this point. Hopefully he does end up leaving, because that means he turned his season around and that can only mean good things for the team.

Skal will be back next year IMO. Talked to Frank Ramsey today and Frank said he get pushed around to much. Needs more strength. Great offense skills but still weak.

Cal can say whatever he wants, but Skal is gonna make the decision based on what he wants to do just like every other player that has come through here.

Wonder if his handler will push him to go pro?? I'm sure with the time and money he has invested in taking him in, he wants a quick turnaround.

Could just be trying to motivate him, but I don't now who would draft him right now. Obviously somebody will, he's still top 10 on every board, but for a league that drafts on "potential," he really hasn't even shown much of that.

Skal may return. I talked a guy at Walmart with a UK shirt on and the guy at Walmart said he gets pushed around to much. Needs more strength. Great offensive skills but he's still weak.

Heard the same thing at church this morning. My guy talked to the guy at Walmart, which talked to Frank apparently. No way a random fan would have this type of inside information or be able to make this type of observation.

I don't get why people say "Oh if he comes back he wont play" That's BS man. Straight up. If he comes back for his Sophomore year he'll have a full year of experience under his belt. So he'll be more experienced. He'll be more confident and comfortable. He'll be bigger and stronger, and he'll have a completely different mindset. Skal in his Sophomore year would probably be the best big man in the country and the number 1 pick in that draft.

There are so called "expects" on both sides of the issue. Some act like they know for sure he's gone and that's without him doing anything as of yet. I'm no expert but at this rate I see no way he leaves. That's not a bad thing. It's good to allow these guys to develop at their own pace. I think Cal is pulling the pressure off his shoulders when talking of him not leaving.

When Oscar Combs indicated that he may come back, Matt Jones laughed at him like he was an idiot for saying that. I hate how Matt disrespects him and thinks he is all knowing. What an arrogant a$$
That's Matt jones for ya, love him or hate him.

If all he needs is more size and strength he can get that in the NBA. Plenty of time to work out and plenty of money to buy a lot of tacos.

I think there's about a ten percent chance he comes back. But as a selfish Kentucky fan, I'd love to see it. With his terrific offensive skills, a year of weight training and conditioning and he'll be everything we expected this year.

plus Bam could play the 5 and Skal could play his more natural position.

In the latest 2016 NBA Mock Draft Board he has only fell from #2 earlier in the year to #6 currently on most of the NBA Mock Draft Boards. If Skal which tonight 8 points and 5 rebs in 14minutes of play before fouling out of the game is the best he has played since the 4th or 5th game of the year. If he turns it around during the SEC season and March Madness and stays in the Top 10 on most of the Draft Boards then I say he goes to NBA. Skal has a nice shot from 10-15ft and is an excellen FT shooter could play forward like he did in High School. It will depend on where he is at the end of season if he goes or stays but right now he is still #6 on most Mock NBA Draft Boards.

many people on this board would like to believe that there 100 other better NBA prospects...but there really isnt that many real players for the next level. skal is one of the few

There was an article about this the other day, sorry I don't have the link..Kentucky blue or something..so I guess this is the second time he's hinted at it.

No he didn't.

well I talked to the guy in the Applebees parking lot who said Skal would be back; he knows because he sells jerseys

My niece's boyfriend has class with Skal's best friend. He says Skal is coming back at least one more year. No doubt in my mind he's coming back. Dickie V said to "book it! He wants a chance to go 40-0 next year."

Whether he comes back or not is yet to be seen obviously, it probably wouldn't hurt him to do so, but I think he showed tonight the beginnings of him getting out of his funk and getting some of that confidence back. Hopefully that trend continues into future games.

Any chance this is the same guy that saw Ramel Bradley at Walmart and tried to teach him how to shoot free throws? He used to post here. If he was the guy you spoke with its a done deal!!!

If you're not very good as a freshman against good completion it would normally behoove you to become a sophomore.

No, not the same guy. This guy knows him though. Told me he heard that guy was working with Skal now...something about back to the basket stuff. We should see improvement.

Not a knock on Skal, but I don't see how he could handle the pro life at this time because to me he still is and acts like a kid. Hear me out....he still has that look in his eye of unknowing, fear, doubt and every other look that normal freshmen have when thrown into a game of men. John Wall was a man when entering college. Demarcus was a man. Bledsoe. Towns. Randle. Nerlens. So on and so forth. Skal to me seems to still be a normal kid and that isn't a bad thing. I do hope to see him turn the corner because he seems to have crazy potential.
