I get that.If we miss on Bridges, I think that spot (the 3 spot) will go to either Alkins or Simmons.
I could see it being Fox, Monk, and Simmons on the perimeter of we miss on Bridges.
I see Gabriel more as a stretch 4.
Why are you putting so much stock in a BBM visit ? There are some fans who wouldn't miss it for the world but whether a player chooses to attend or not doesn't make their decision apparent. Harry Giles is coming to BBM , does that mean we get him ? Players spend years developing relationships with coaches , one glamour practice means nothing in the big picture .
That's not correct. Izzo wanted James Young bad. He was a plan A target for MSU, and was recruited hard by Izzo, but that kid was pretty much all Kentucky from when his recruitment started.
To say MSU "was not interested" is entirely off base.
You're thinking in far too broad of terms. There's no national effort by Adidas as a company to push players from their AAU squads to play for a specific Adidas sponsored college. Way too much potential conflict of interest there, because Adidas has contracts with so many schools. This stuff operates on a local level, through the people who run the AAU programs. If those people have a lot of pull with certain players, then they're the ones who are pushing Adidas schools. And while it's distinctly possible that Adidas encourages that, it's highly unlikely that Adidas is dictating which specific school.Okay so obviously Gottfried is not competent enough to land: Smith, Bam, and Alkins on his own which reeks of Adidas help. But my question is why would Adidas choose NC State to help? I realize that T.J. Warren is still young but there last NBA player of note was Julius Hodge. How is any sane person at Adidas confident that Mark Gottfried can take an elite high school talent and mold him into an NBA star who can in turn sell lots of Adidas kicks??
Incorrect. You will not find one single article or quote even hinting at the notion that Young was a prolonged plan A target. Izzo showed interest very early on but it wasn't reciprocated and the recruitment was discontinued well before Young moved out of state, which was long before he committed to Kentucky. Young was not a MSU / Kentucky battle ala Ulis, Payne, Booker and Harris.
MSU did offer him a scholarship, that means something.Incorrect. You will not find one single article or quote even hinting at the notion that Young was a prolonged plan A target. I just think if it was UK and he wanted to end it like some say ....why not just commit to Kentucky and keep his BBM visit?..Maybe im over thinking here, but the visit change and no BBM visit has thrown me a curveball..Maybe Bridges picks UK and comes to BBM too
As for Giles and Bam i said in an earlier post that i think they will be at Duke and NCST..some just want to see BBM like Kyrie Irving..most knew we were getting Knight and Irving to Duke.....
While I can't speak for what they say on their own boards, (I'm sure they trash Calipari/UK to the extent of every other fan base, minus the completely obsessed/delusional ones like Louisville and Indiana.) most of the Duke fans that post on here are are actually fairly reasonable and respectable towards UK, at least to our faces. But in all fairness, their basketball program is as hot as it's been in years, so it's not like they have anything to be bitter about.
I can only see the thread titles on their premium boards -- but there's a thread devoted to what people are saying here.
We're just having some fun. Season doesnt start for a while.
What's the big deal?
Anyway, part I of my forecast came true today.
Part II , Oct 3 unless Cal weaves his magic web and hynotizes Bridges.
This is a to the death battle for the #1 class..Bridges gives us numero uno.
Oh Dave. You always know how to make me feel better.lookin good guys. Some who know me off this site already knew Ulis would host him. Listen up. Ulis is a friggin magnet. Saw that two years ago. People tend to be clingons with him.
I don't know what Franklin said, then buried. I think it's damn near done. Take two and call me Monday.

Ulis was our 5th choice. He is even related to ex spartan Walton. Frayed feelings.Chris Fisher @ChrisFisher247 24m24 minutes ago
Tyler Ulis serving as host for 5-star wing Miles Bridges' official visit to Kentucky this weekend. Ulis chose UK over ... Michigan State.

Of course we didnt get the first 4 either

He is just screwing with everyone. Maybe Ulis was not a priority for MSU very early in the recruiting cycle for that class, but there is absolutely no question that Izzo wanted him very badly (and understandably so) during the few months preceding his commitment. That makes no sense. Were there even 4 PGs rated ahead of Ulis in that class?
Ulis was the #2 pg behind Jones.. Why would you recruit 4 lesser point guards over him? I don't believe you to begin with..
