bridges down to 3 moves uk visit up to this weekend :

Cousin of sparty you just seem like a sad sad person. Get it together man. Seems as if you got crushed on your on board and are here to try to engage conversation with cats fans who could care less what your opinion is. MSU isn't what they use to be. However I along with most of the BBN respect what izzo has done. Get off the board and go enjoy your amazing life!

I thought you're not a homer and you tell it like it is? Whatever dude. I respect Kentucky...they're not the enemy unless we're playing them and then they're just an opponent in a game in which young men associated with my alma mater are competing against young men associated with theirs. I gave my opinion on a topic in which I agreed with you actually - and I acknowledge that fact - so I'm not sure where you're coming from...but that's all I'm gonna say here. There's no need having a spat on Kentucky's board.
Being in a foxhole with you would be like defending Donald Trump and Hillary -- no thanks.

Nah I do the crushing and I am really quite happy.

Ha..too much fun but I promise , and I am serious, if we get Bridges you wont hear from me ever again.

But you will know I am thinking of all of you

Nice one dcsparty....he's right guys. CousinofSparty is not representative of the fan base. That said, he did say one thing I agree with. I don't like the one and done culture of the modern game...it sort of takes away from the illusion of amateur athletics to which I still cling. All things being equal, I'd rather have kids that stay around for a few years that we can watch develop etc. Of course I'd rather take one and dones and win than have all four years players and miss the tournament...but if our recruiting quality was the same, I'd rather not have the one and dones. I don't blame Cal/Kentucky for taking advantage of the rules at all but this evolution in college basketball might just ruin it.

Just my opinion. Also, I've never bought the "Cal is great at developing NBA players" meme and rather think he is very good at recruiting NBA players. That said, he is amazing at getting these kids to play together at such a high level given their age and potential ego issues. I'm hoping Bridges comes to MSU but couldn't blame him from joining probably the top hoops program of all time.

Best of luck and cheers
You yourself said it was an illusion. So you purposely act like its still amateur athletics when its not really been that way in decades. When coaches started making millions, when TV contracts in the billions with the NCAA started the farce that was amateur athletics was over. Yet you purposely ignore those factors and instead focus on one and dones as the problem? No offense, but that's hypocritical as hell and you even admitted to it! The only thing ruining the game is the hypocrisy by the NCAA and fans like you. Those kids would not be on your campus if they were not good at basketball. But please continue to act as if your coaches way of building teams is somehow any purer than Cals way. Its not. The NCAA has always been a minor league for the pros. Your coach goes after numerous one and dones yearly. But Cals the bad guy ruining the game because he actually lands them? Bullshit.

You seem like a good dude but people with your views really irk the crap out of me. I will respect your opinion as much as it pains me though.

Izzo doesnt need a top class, nor a top 5 , nor a top 10 to win a natl title.
He develops guys, they stay a couple of years and chemistry increases.

Now, he got to F4 with NO TOP 20 RECRUITS. Maybe Dawson was about 20, the rest were top 50.

He does need a couple of upper echelon players but has NEVER had THE TOP CLASS.

Seems to me, is with all these #1 classes, not many of those programs win as many titles as you would think.

In fact, look at U Conn. How many top 20 players did they have 2 yrs ago?

I think you guys focus on the wrong criteria

Really? Izzo doesnt need a top 10 class to win a title? Now, im beginning to think youre delusional. So, how many titles does Izzo have and how many years has he been at MSU? We focus on the wrong criteria? Recruiting the best players possible. Is that a bad formula or something? Cause it looks to be working pretty well for us. Maybe Izzo should look into changing his criteria a bit. Oh wait....... he does actually recruit the top players too. He just doesnt get nearly as many as Cal does. So, please stop with the "we like players who come stay multiple years and develop great chemistry together". Thats what fans say when their schools consistently loses recruits to other schools. Some of you MSU fans are quite funny.

He needs a mix of players but certainly not an "all star" group.
In several years, we were close but a key injury , ONE single injury or
ONE recruiting miss stopped us.

Those cases , which I will enumerate, in a moment , would not have been top 10 classes even WITH the single miss.

CASE 1-Lucas achilles that preceded the 1 pt loss to Butler , in the year Duke beat Butler in the final. Green missed a layup or we would have beaten Butler and surely beat Duke with Lucas, our best player.

CASE 2-2 years ago with Appling with a bum wrist, we didnt a pt guard to even get the ball past halfcourt. That killed the elite 8 game where we led by 10 in the second half vs a guard oriented team.

CASE 3- We got to the F4 without a top center. If we had just gotten Okafor we didnt even need a top pt guard. We would have won it all. F4 without avg class of over achievers. Travis Trice, come on , he wasnt even top 150.

Might be a couple of other cases as well but very close. JUst needed a little luck or 1 more player...NOT A TOP 10 CLASS.

Having an all star recruiting class brings too many problems with it...otherwise Kentucky would have many more titles than the 1 it has the last 5 years.

Bottom line Izzo is a bb genius

I disagree your last paragraph. What Cal has done 4 final 4's, national championship, & national runner-up....in 6 seasons with basically a new team every year is flat out, off the charts amazing!!

It's very difficult to pull off the championship, which is why the winningest program in college basketball only has 8. Cal has one...I'm willing to bet he wins 2 more in the next 5 years, maybe 3 with some extreme luck.

I think Izzo will win zero championships in the next 5 years.

In the end all you can hope for is to have a team right in the mix that can win it & with Cal 70% of the time we will still be playing the 1st week of April.

It's always amusing to me how fans of these other programs talk about how much they love their 3-4 yr players - but then they absolutely lose their sh!t at the prospect of landing a likely OAD.

As has been pointed out, we were hearing the same bs from Duke fans 3 years ago. Now they are busier worrying about Jeter and Bolden not being 1-2 year players and it potentially running off Carter or Bamba in 2017.

Do you really want to know how many titles we would have if we played the "what if" game? Do I really need to go there? The fact is that Izzo has 1 title. You can tell yourself that you would have more if this or that happened but the fact remains that it did not happen, so your stuck with just 1 title for Mr. Izzo.

I think its funny that you say ......We would have won the title IF we had gotten Okafor. LMAO!!! Many teams would probably have won the title if they had gotten the #1 player in the country. That is just hilarious. And to say you would have won the title if you had just gotten by an Elite 8 game? Really bro? Are you serious with this BS? You know, I honestly believe that we would have won it all last year if Alex doesn't get hurt but he did and we didnt, so that is the facts. You can play what ifs all day if you want but it's not going to change anything. We would have about 20 titles if we played the what if game with injuries and recruiting misses. Hahahaha! Recruiting misses! That's hilarious! If we had only gotten Michael Jordan on that 83 team, we would have won it all! LMFAO!!!!!

Bill Self on Kentucky defeating Kansas in the 2012 National Championship Game: "We didn't get beat. We just ran out of time."

To me if Bridges mind is made up and he is that excited about playing at MSU then just set the date (Oct. 3) and commit to MSU or after the MSU visit just make the call to MSU! Bridges seems like a player and person if he is set on where he wants to go then he would make that call to MSU now! I believe after the MSU visit he knows where he wants to go and doesn't want to wait till November to set the date and make the call if he would had attended BBM. I am not saying that I am 100% that Bridges will commit to UK. I just think if your home/state school MSU visit went that great and you were that excited to play ball there then you just down remaining visits and either set a date for announcement or make that call then to MSU. Still, many experts are saying things haven't changed since the visits to IU and MSU and that they still feel Bridges to Kentucky!

How about now,have they changed?
