bridges down to 3 moves uk visit up to this weekend :

I don't like the fact that the kid's always tweeting about Michigan State. Particularly telling people to spread that stay home hashtag. Hopefully it's just because he's a local kid. Here's hoping he breaks a lot of hearts in Michigan come October.

he knows where he wants to go
Maybe he does but if it's UK and he has an uncharacteristically horrible visit here, not sure he would stick with UK. On the other hand if it's MSU and he has the best visit of his life in Lexington, it could flip him. I'm waiting for Oct. 3, and if he wants to move that up the sooner the better.

I lol'd at this smash. Yes, I supposed an uncharacteristicly horrible visit could cause problems. :flushed:

Because Gary Harris sucked so much?

Willing to go out on a limb and say that Josh Langford isn't going to suck next year either.

Has Izzo ever started 5 freshmen or 3 freshmen and two sophomores?? Plus coming off the bench with mostly freshman. It's a lot easier to throw a freshman with seniors and juniors....

I would love to get bridges, but anytime we go toe to toe with Michigan st we usually miss and I've yet to figure out why that happens. We could be facing kansas. Puke, Carolina, Arizona or Louisville but most of these dudes end of playing for the Michigan state magic johnsons

Nobody likes this guy. He is by far the most hated person on the MSU board. Total douche.

We snaked Ulis away from them with the greatest of ease.

Sparty fans, you should go ahead and invest in Kleenex. 10/03/15 is gonna be a really disappointing day for you. Cats fans shouldn't fret. I wouldn't be surprised if MSU actually comes in third.

We had no problems getting Ulis or James Young from them.

Yeah Izzo with mostly freshman and sophomores = not good.

Kalin Lucas took us to the National Title game as a sophomore. Harris was sensational from the moment he stepped foot on campus.

Posts like these are hilarious. If Kentucky and Calipari landed recruiting classes like MSU, you would see more upperclassmen in the starting lineups. If Izzo landed recruiting classes like Kentucky, you would see more freshmen in the starting lineup.

It's not rocket science. Do you think If Cal had brought in Tum Tum Nairn, Javon Bess, and Marvin Clark that they all would have been stars as freshmen last year? I don't. Do you think Towns and Booker would have sat the bench at MSU? I don't.

Give Izzo Bridges and Winston and a starting lineup of Winston, Langford, Bridges, Ward and Davis isn't farfetched. 4 frosh and a sophomore.

Still not sure what this proves though.

We've split with Michigan State since Cal got here.

They got Harris and Payne and we got Young and Ulis.

I think those are the only players we finished 2nd to them for and vice versa.

I hope it's UK but why commit to UK now and take a beating all season long.

he plays highschool at Huntington prep in west virgina so wont have to deal with anything. more so if he picks msu than uk because he has 8 or 9 games in the state of Kentucky this year. a lot of boos

I'll
I would love to see Izzo's resume if he had the type of talent that Calipari brings in every year.

I would also because I don't think Izzo is nearly as adaptable or flexible in his style of coaching and play. In order to be success with a new team every year, you must adapt your style of play to fit your team. We hear Cal say every year...."I have to find out how we are going to play". I also don't think that Izzo is the type to completely put his players first, before all else. Calipari will adjust his style to best fit his entire team, so that all of his players are featured. Do you think you'd ever seen Izzo running a platoon? Even though he probably knows deep down that he could be a better team if he plays 7-8 players. That's the kind of adaptability that a coach must possess if he is going to win consistently, year after year, with freshman. While I'm not saying that Izzo would not be successful because I do believe he would be, he is a hellava coach, I just don't think he would be as successful as Cal has been at UK. That's not a knock on Izzo by any stretch, it's more of a huge compliment for Calipari. I think this is safe to say and whether you Sparty fans on here will admit it or not remains to be seen but deep down I think you would agree with me on this.

One and done players aren't because of a coach. Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb are not going to be a one and done because of Cuonzo Martin's coaching. If Malik Monk goes to Arkansas, he won't be a one and done because of Mike Anderson. One and done talents are one and done talents whereever they go.

Like I said before, how many players like Bridges with the ability to be a one and done has Izzo landed? Answer: Not many. The 2016 class is very good at the top. In other years, Bridges would be considered for the #1 or #2 spot in the rankings. He's going to have the ability to be a one and done wherever he goes.

Your post is only half true. While guys like Davis, Wall, Cousins, Wiggins, and Okafor are more than likely one and dones no matter what school they attend, that isn't the case for all one and dones and where you go to school can have a lot to do with whether you are entering the the draft after your only season. Do you think guys like Bledsoe, Young, Booker, and even Knight were all going to be one and dones no matter where they went to school? I highly doubt it. Nobody thought Booker, Bledsoe, or even Knight and Cousins would be leaving after 1 year but our coach is just that damn good and so they left. For the elite of the elite, such as a Wall or Davis or Giles next year, it probably doesn't make much difference and they will be one and dones no matter what but for the 2nd tier group from the 10-50 rank range, if you don't think it matters where they attend if they want to be a one and done then you really need to go see someone for some help. Maybe you should go see a few that didn't choose to go to UK and see what they think. Then you should go see the ones that did choose UK and ask them what they think. But just a bit of advice, make sure you ring the buzzer and mic at the electric gate on the edge of the estate, I'm sure they have some pretty tight security, especially around their car showroom and hangar, I'm sure they will buzz you right in though.

Mst is just one of those teams that seem to reel in guys who are usually down to two to three schools. I know Caleb swanigan went elsewhere but he had committed to them.russell Byrd was another we wanted during the bcg tragedy and he went there. Payne was another guy that had us on his short list and ended up at mst, and of course who could forget draymond green. I know he was a tubby recruit, but he went on to have a good career and is now a very good player in the nba those are just a off the top of my head.

I'm not worried about this factor with him. He lives in West Virginia now so it's not quite like the Malik Monk situation. Besides I think MSU fans as a whole are a little classier than Arkansas fans.

Supposedly Cal received great recruiting news the weekend before last. I haven't been able to find out what or who, so had been thinking it must be Simmons. I now know that was an incorrect assumption. Am now thinking it must be a reference to either Bridges, Monk, or Fox. Still trying to dig it out but I think it's highly protected for the next couple of weeks. My current guess, because of Bridges altering his plans, is that it's him. I say that because Cal has recently said he'll know a lot more in two weeks, which dovetails with October 3rd. That's my GUESS.

Can anyone here elaborate?

Though if Matt Jones was being honest, he would tell you that he is guessing as well.

I highly doubt that. Are you serious with that comment? Do you really believe that he is not connected to the top sources in our program? That statement is just naive. Now, he may be wrong in the end but it's not because he is guessing, it's because the top people around the program or others around college basketball recruiting are telling him what they believe. You obviously don't know Matt Jones to say a ridiculous statement like that. I you did then you would know that Matts would openly admit if he was guessing. He doesn't hide, if he is taking a guess, he will say so.

Keep telling yourself that though! That post screams desperation.

Weekend before last would seem to eliminate Bridges, no?

I stand corrected, Cal supposedly received the news during the fantasy camp, which was this past weekend. Someone quickly corrected me after reading my post above.

Hearing this from a trusted source I assume? Sorry -- new to the boards. What's your gut telling you?

I do not doubt that Bridges had a great weekend at MSU. Why wouldn't he? He got to go back home and see a tremendous football game. He got to visit with family, and enjoy all the hoopla that was associated with the effort put forth by the athletic dept. But, I am like Jason, when I think about him taking the time and effort to tweet about a possible package deal with Monk. Then, most analysts are trending Monk to UK, about the same time that Miles moves up his visit and announcement date. I think that it is to get Monk, who is torn between staying in state, and doing what is best for him, off the fence and pull the trigger. I have to believe that with him giving us a last look, that Cal works his magic and gets a commit. Then he seals the deal with Monk at MM.
JMO.
