Bengals-Bills?

Of course Hamlin's life is what is most important.

But I am curious what the NFL does about this game. If it were earlier in the season, I think they could have squeezed in a way for them to complete the game days/weeks later. But at this point I just don't see that as possible, unless the NFL were willing to shift the playoffs back 1 week and get rid of the extra week before the super bowl. Which I do not think they are willing to do. So at this point I see 3 options:
- finish the game say Wednesday, maybe moving both teams games this weekend to Monday night (very unlikely)
- call it a draw or tie
- call it as a win for Cincy (had the lead at the time), like a baseball rainout (after enough completed innings)

Given that the game was just in the 1Q, I would say the TIE option might be the one they select.

2nd thing, is if (and hopefully not the case) Hamlin has not improved or worse, I don't see how the Bills can even play this weekend (and it could even be tough for the Bengals players to play). And I'm a Steeler fan, so a Bills win helps my team possibly make the playoffs, but if the Bills don't think they can play giving the Pats a win or tie, I'm ok with that (my team should have done better the first half of the season and not put themselves in this situation).

Since the Bills/Bengals are some of the league's best, do they "need" to play the game? It might be best for all parties just to call it off and move on.

You cannot compare vaccines that took years and even decades to get approved with one that took less than a year. Do you trust the scientist that do not believe in this vaccine or just the ones that do? This incident with Demar may not be related to the vaccine at all but with as many athletes and younger people in general having heart related issues over the last couple of years on the rise the bigger picture in all of this is that this may be the tip of the iceberg which is very scary for us all. That’s not political, it’s medical. Continued prayers for Demar.
Yeah, no chance modern technology, unlimited funding, and no red tape sped along the process. Y’all are 100% flat Earthers too, I know it.

Yeah that’s not gonna fly when the loser of the game would’ve gotten the three-seed. They were literally playing for seeding in the playoffs.

I say the Bills forego the rest of their season and playoffs to process it all. Have them take a few months away from football, it’s the right and fair thing to do for everyone involved.

I'm comparing those vaccines to this one because there has been a broad consensus among the scientific and health care communities that all of these vaccines are safe regardless of approval time. Sure, you will find doctors that do not approve of the vaccine but find me a community where every single person in that field believes the exact same thing. I will side with the overwhelming majority of scientists and doctors who say that the vaccines are safe. An increase in heart-related issues can more likely be attributed to a multitude of things like bad dieting, lack of exercise, genetics, underlying health conditions, etc.

Bayless is an idiot because I doubt many people, if anyone, knew if he would be okay as of 11:00 PM so to be more worried about playing that game was asinine. I can guarantee none of the coaches, players or owners were concerned so why was Skippy?
Read his line of tweets - including the ones that came before the one I referenced. I think Skip is a loudmouth who just tries to get a reaction out of people for ratings, but that tweet wasn't bad at all. It's a legit question to ask - and the way he asked it was very respectful.

Tell me you're not serious.

How many times a game do players run full speed into another players chest. I would venture to guess damn near every play. It's a violent contact sport and shoulder pads protect the chest and heart area as well.
Man the vaccines don’t have shit to do with it, you know they don’t, his heart got knocked out of rhythm by a hit, not some vaccine conspiracy BS.

The comments you are referencing are not directly related to this specific, and very unfortunate event, regardless of what the ultimate cause was. My comments were about the vaccine, it's efficacy and dangerous side effects in general.

Oh and if there isn't a narrative the government wants to keep pushing, then why this?
Umm, why are you posting about the efficacy of a vaccine in a thread about a football player who suffered life threatening injury then?

Why this? Why did the wack job conspiracy theorist account you follow post more conspiracy theories? Because that’s what y’all do flat Earther. BTW, what branch of “the government” set up “outposts” at the hospital. Explain your conspiracy theory. The Army I’m guessing set up an outpost of troops at the hospital for what purpose exactly? Also where is the photo of the “outpost”?

lest we risk getting banned, this isn't the thread to be having this debate in.

100% serious. Like everyone says, football is not important. Bills should take the rest of winter, spring, and summer to reflect on this.

Everyone else, continue on.
Perhaps they should just fold the team and have all the players become monks? Good lord, some of you people need to get a grip. It's like the time Bill Keightley died and people on this board wanted to have a statue of him sitting on the bench during the games. SMH

Sorry gorilla (stupid message board name by the way) but I don’t believe the earth is round I KNOW it’s round. None of the above does away with the notion that there are seriously bad side effects to the vaccine which can only be known with years of study, something none of the above can possibly get around.

Exactly. And the hit may not have been any harder than than other hits he had taken. The hit came at just the right time in the cycle to interrupt the sinus rhythm. He may have been breathing out with the chest deflated and the heart valves may have been closed and put pressure on the heart at the moment of impact. I posted earlier about a 12 year who fell off a horse and her heart burst because the valves were closed at the moment of impact.

Do you think hamlins incident is because of the vaccine?

I'm not a cardiologist and it looked like he got hit in the chest and went into cardiac arrest two seconds later. But I also remember the days when we were racist and stupid for saying that COVID was made in the Wuhan Coronavirus Institute instead of the wet market right across the street said facility.

Covid could certainly have long term side effects no doubt, but that situation is not it, people know that, anybody thinking it is, is being ridiculous, pretty much every cardiologist is saying it’s commotio cordis

Believing in scientists who have studied vaccines as their career rather than conspiracy theorists seems like the smarter move to me. We trusted the vaccine with polio, smallpox, measles, etc. As soon as we bring politics into discussions over vaccine, suddenly half the population doesn't believe in the effectiveness of vaccines anymore.
Didn’t the founder of the MRNA vaccine call into question the use of the vaccine? A lot of scientists are questioning the vax and it’s problems. The people complaining about this being political may be keeping it political.

It takes years of study to research these seriously bad sides effects yet you speak on them as if the side effects certainly exist after what, a year and a half of the vaccine?

I would think the game does not need to be played. I also think there is a lot of gambling money on the game and how it impacts standing. If played, it would seem to be about $$$.

You make some wrong unscientific comments in this post, but the worst part of your position is that you seem to be arguing against transparency and scientific debate.

Bengals are the real losers in this if the game isn’t played. They’ll have to go to Buffalo if both teams get out of the wild card round. The Bengals were not losing that game last night.

I think his heart stopped and he stood before a hypoxic event took him to the ground.

Scientists can debate all they want, I'm arguing that if the overwhelming majority of those scientists lean towards the vaccines being safe then I'm going to follow their lead since they're the experts. What's unscientific about bad dieting, lack of exercising, etc. eventually leading to heart issues? Just flat out saying that someone is wrong with no evidence to back up that statement is bad debating.

Have a personal friend that had myocarditis after receiving his vaccine. His physician told him to not get any of the boosters or could easily kill him.

Wait, y’all said it was a hoax first. Remember that.
I never said it was a hoax. I take pride in sounding the alarm bells on this in Feb 2020! I still flex on my wife who told me I was overreacting when I said this is going to be a huge deal.

Regarding the vaccine and heart related issues, I'm still doing my own research. I know I'm supposed to "trust the experts", but I am actually educated on how to read statistics from a study in a medical journal. Remember when chloroquine was being pushed by that French doctor? It was beyond easy to look at his data to see he was full of shit. I'll do the same for athletes suffering from heart issues. I'm old enough to remember Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis, and I haven't really noticed a significanat upticks in pro / college athletes having heart issues. I suspect there's not really an uptick, but the data will bear that out.

However, the days of me just listening to anybody in government or media telling me to just trust them are f'ing over.

You clearly have an agenda. We know you were exactly like this with COVID and masks. You rush to be affirmed by your point of view and then freak out if someone doesn't immediately jump like you.

I don't think this is vaccine-related but due to all of the athletes dying of heart issues, it's going to cause people to immediately wonder. But this is too much for you because you view this as a religion.

Debating is for politicals. I just want transparency so we can all make informed decisions to the best of our abilities.

How many masks and boosters do you have? lol

No one denied a virus existed. What they said was this was disingenuous and being used for something else all together which has been proven completely due to the massive wealth transfer, government control increasing, Big Pharma getting rich with that timely jab, and we knew from the politicians pushing mass hysteria yet partying privately, getting their hair did while no one else could, having maskless dinners despite shutting other places down.

Your jab did not work. Your mask did not work. You mocked those who told you this was the case. You're always going to parrot the approved narrative from your TV. That's a given cause you're a sheep.

Mocks people on the internet for speculating but then cites doctors who have not actually examined this man or know his medical history.

You people are so stupid. Just admit you're a cult.

NO ONE KNOWS A SINGLE THING YET EXCEPT CARDIAC ARREST AFTER A HIT. THAT'S ALL WE KNOW! So your rush to be adamant about something either way is foolish.
