If Barnhart's leading it, I assume PC stands for "prayer circle" and not "press conference."

Barney needs to call Cal into his office and explain is very clear terms that his (Cal) statement is unacceptable.
1. He'll make a comment that we're a university for all sports...not just a basketball school.
2. He'll distance himself from Cal's comments
3. Cal will get no discipline for his stupid comments though
Nothing tangible will change in the end....which is fine with me. But even if the b-ball program rebounds...we need to be moving on from Cal....dude is a awful ambassador to the program and the faster he's gone the better.

You obviously do not understand what those words mean. He got himself in trouble last night going overboard being an ambassador to our program. Are you 20 years old?
We have two great coaches both of which are phenomenal ambassadors for their programs. Any other notion is ridiculous

I’ve never heard our football coach or track coach make repeated asinine remarks. But we have more than two great programs!
And our volleyball coach wins a National Championship practicing and playing with no AC in Memorial Coliseum. And no asinine remarks from that coach's mouth.
I hope he announces a new football practice facility…

This started when Cal took a knee during the national anthem. He lost me at that point. Gave up my basketball tickets and bought two more football season tickets. Good riddance.
KSR Preshow made a good point....why is this crap having to be handled publicly. Stoops had to to get Nutter updated, and now Cal is having to because Craft is leaking. Difference is obviously Stoops didn't make asshat remarks about basketball's shortcomings lately, but it is valid to point out these guys can't get on the same page as Mitch behind closed doors where this stuff SHOULD be happening.
Actually what we DO NOT know is maybe closed door meetings have been held.....and maybe Barnhart's response is not what the coaches wanted to hear. We just don't know.

Adorable. I'm old enough to remember the UK fans who insisted we could do no better than Tubby Smith, that him leaving would destroy the program forever. Hell I can remember some fans holding a rally outside the Hyatt to support Eddie Sutton, demanding he be given a 2nd chance.
Fear of change is a strong base illogical emotion in humans.
The difference is Stoops is all about UK and winning and he never focuses on himself and how great he is. He is one of us as opposed to the other one talking down to us all the time in his arrogant condescending ways. It would be nice to have a basketball coach again who had the same characteristics is Mark stoops
I'm glad Mitch is speaking out. He needs to remind everyone that the athletics department is dedicated to being excellent in ALL sports, and one sport does NOT take priority over another. Calipari wondered off the reservation and needs to be brought back into the fold while he's here.

He needs to call all of them in and tell all the public conflict in the future is unacceptable. Yes CMS has every right to defend his program and did. But 2 professionals at the same school going public trying to down the other is not a good look.
I don't understand the dislike for your AD that alot of people here have for him. 15 years ago he had to fight boosters for every dime programs other than men's BB, what cal said was right THEN. He had to make changes which didn't happen overnight, he made a good hire, his guy, not a former player a booster wanted, invested in facilities, stayed patient with Stoops, giving assistants raises to retain them. He doesn't have a magic wand to wave and make things happen. I just don't understand the dislike for him
Those that don't like Mitch are either the ones that weren't here for the past several decades with BB ADs that marginalized football, or BB only fans.
it is amazing isn't it. I guess he dared to make UK respected in football and that is a no no in some UK circles. I look at what he has done since he took over as AD and it is a job well done across the board.
I think too many UK fans feel the AD should be a basketball administrator and director only. This is a narrow minded view of what an AD is at a major university. Personally I am thankful I can hold my head up high in Gator Country where I live knowing we have a chance of victory when we meet and the football program is decent. It feels good.

Same here living in Tennessee, for decades I was patted on the head and reminded that my team was a basketball school - that's why that comment from Cal really set my hair on fire.
I think UK fans living out of the state of Kentucky have a different perspective on our football program. Most of them live in football states. If UK wins a national championship in basketball nobody around me cares. The average fan down here couldn't even tell you who won last years NCAA title. But they sure can tell you Georgia is the National Champion in football. The two sports are not even close in popularity and fan interest.

Grumpy, there are some things you might not know.
I have a friend who got front row tickets on the upper deck in 1995, simply because my friend lived next to someone with big time connections at the ticket office: I.e., the “Good Ole Boy Network.”
A few seasons ago, Barnhardt established a system that profited UK by essentially a bidding process, and my friend got moved 4 rows off the front row at Kroger. He has busted up some Good Old Boy arraignments that had been in place for 50 years, much to the profit and competitiveness of the total programs.
But he has stepped on some toes along the way.

Where in my comments did I refute that? Just stated the bar is low. Barney had done okay but he's not a visionary. He's a bean counter who plays it ultra conservative.
He's done good at steadying the ship and plotting a solid course but the game has passed him by (NIL, beer sales etc). Time for a more innovative thinker.
Prediction: Barnhart retires, Stoops hired as AD, Stoops tells Calipari to swim home from Bahamas.
