Tough time to terminate Stoops

After the vacated wins I don't think it is true he still has a winning career record.
You are correct! Stoops total record at KY through last week is 67 Wins. 70 losses. .489 record. It is a total fireable offense for our AD to not have not gotten rid of any coach with that performance. I can't believe we have idiot fans that think we should not fire Stoops and our dumb AD. He is not just the worst coach in the SEC but the worst in Division 1 football. My daughter graduated from Centre College and I will tell you they play better football than what Stoops puts on the field. They at least compete. Can you actually tell me with a straight face that we have competed this year? This team has quit on a coach that they know does not know shvt about getting a game plan together to score points.

Still Stoops would not know at that time that Barnhart would enforce the clause and tell Cal to kick rocks. That is what the original poster said…. Do you think Stoops would not tell Barnhart he was talking to A&M after what happened to Cal??Is what was said. Stoops talked to A&M 3 months before Barnhart enforced that clause
I don’t know Stoop well enough to speak on his character about talking to other schools. I do know it’s a foregone conclusion that Cal was shopping quite awhile which is what I addressed.

I would think Texas A&M spoke with Barnhart before they interviewed Stoops. Most schools show that respect.

I can think of very few if any games that I felt stoops won due to his game calling and management. I go back to such horrible play calling at the very beginning of his era when I endured the loss to wku in Nashville. I thought then and it's been validated often that he was not going to last. However, this cat's ninth life is gone.
I took my grandson with me to vandy to watch them play and it was a horrible vandy team and we had to beat them to get to 6 wins and in true stoops fashion his team under performed and we're not ready . Vandy snuck a player from the sidelines in and threw him the ball and vandy walked it in another embarrassing loss under stoops I knew then he could not coach lost alot of my hype for him

I’d would think so as well but that raises the question, did Arkansas? It’s all speculation, us common folk will never know the complete truth.

I give more credit to body of work (entire tenure), than this year. The two previous are the mean for his tenure and above avg for UK's program, so one has to give him credit for resetting expectations, but we can't have selective amnesia. We need to be careful what we wish for because the grass isn't always greener. I analyze this, similarly as I would the investments I choose for clients. What is the past performance vs recent and what tis the risk vs reward of divesting, which has tremendous cost and much higher risk than most would conceive when making emotional decisions vs strictly analytics.
You like investments? How does this one strike you? Here are Stoops vs Brooks in the last four seasons of their tenure. 9M vs 2M price tag.

You can also kiss one of those 10 win seasons goodbye. Those wins no longer exist as does our trophy for the Citrus Bowl.

Stoops elevated our program and he did it on the foundation that Rich Brook's built. Now it's time for Stoops to go so that someone else can build the next level.

To be fair, the salary is irrelevant. 2M in 2009 is about 7M or 8M now. Also, the vacated wins are legit. They absolutely are. And, also, Stoops inherited a dumpster fire. Brooks inherited typical UK mediocre crap.

Now with that said, Brooks coaches circles around Stoops all day. You give Brooks a Vanderbilt talented team with their "0 star" quarterback this year and they'll do exactly what they're doing this year including beating our asses and our "5 star" quarterback in Lexington.

The present value of $2 million in 2009 in todays dollars is not 7 or 8 million. It is $2,986,610.97. Long ways from $9 million.

He must go, this thread should go away like the balding ginger that won’t let it go. It’s a shame that UK fans have to put up with this

You just reiterated my point. It's a troubling trend within an overall positive body of work. And stop it with the NCAA took away the wins comments. You don't need that stupid BS to make an argument. We are headed in the wrong direction, clearly, to try to bolster your argument with that ridiculous red herring makes you sound like a 10 year old. He won the games and the the reason for the NCAA issues had nothing to do with him, nor did they contribute to any of the wins.

The same could be said about you.

Those kids in non revenue sports work their ass off.
Tell me you don't understand the point without telling me you don't understand the point.

The key word in your post "Non revenue", thus the "guess who pays for that shit". Idiot

Not in this context.

I love "logical" people who can't apply the simplest of logic. Your entire point in this thread is to look a Stoops overall body of work, specifically his winning record at UK. Well, when you take away those games he no longer has a winning record. That is why they most certainly do matter.

He is now 66-70. In the eyes of college football, and anyone who looks at the record book, he did not win those games because they no longer exist. Period. Whoever was at fault, the blame falls upon him. He is the leader of the program, glory or goat, just like any CEO. It is also just another sign of his complete lack of team discipline both on and off the field.

Now if you want to argue that you like Stoops, and like his philosophy, and therefore you think he should stay around, that's fine. It isn't "logical" but it is your opinion.

The hiring of Bush Hamdan imo should be considered a fireable offense. You have to do better due diligence.

Despite his modest success it's not been because of offense. It's modest because he's s defensive coach in an current-day offensive sport. It's not going to change. That's why it's time for a change now. Giving him another year or 10 more years is not going to change him.

You have a penchant for calling people names. Just shows you weakness in debating. In all my years on this board, I've only put one person on ignore and he was a lot like you...not worth my time.

I consider it a win when guys like you put me on ignore. Shows you're soft

There is almost nothing Stoops can do to get me excited about next year. Those of you who think we just need to get the right QB or the right OC or the right WRs. You guys are setting yourself up for disappointment once again. Much like we needed a new start with Cal, I'm there with regard to football as well. A change is needed, that's the only thing that will get me excited again. I know what I'm going to get with Stoops and it doesn't really do anything for me anymore.
