Bagley already officially CLEARED by NCAA

You people have heard of twitter, right?

Not what it says here.

From the article:

"If you're curious as to how someone could decide to reclassify and make up a year's worth of schoolwork over the course of a 3-4 months, Bagley's father has spoken publicly on a couple of occasions about how his son's path was always going to track this way. The endgame was getting Bagley eligible for the 2018 Draft, college eligibility be damned. But because Duke was in early when it came to recruiting Bagley as a 2017 prospect, the family and Duke worked carefully and quickly in order to get Bagley's coursework finished."

I know that doesn't fit your narrative, but . . .

I just wonder what BBN would be saying had Bagley committed to UK. Perhaps, just perhaps, the kid did the work and his family kept him focused and organized. Regardless, there has not been anything close to the Bledsoe situation and the changing of grades - which is what led to Thamel digging into what has transpired.

Thanks for spending your Friday night here because UK is so deep in your grill. Just more confirmation that we are the hottest girl in the room. [laughing]

Would have loved his commitment. 90% chance he wouldn't have been cleared. Believe whatever you want to though.

Yeah exactly. We would have been excited to get him and doubtful he would ever play.

All I ever heard from national media was how Bagley wouldn't qualify to reclassify.

Until he picked Duke.

Then... Magically.. Everyone just assumed he would qualify.

Does anyone believe that would have happened at UK under Cal? Yeah okay.

Classic revisionist history - how about these pre-Duke visit quotes?

"According to AZ Central’s Richard Obert, the 5-star recruit’s father, Marvin Bagley Jr., responded to the story of his son playing college basketball this season. 'LOL!!! You guys are too funny. You should ask whoever started the rumor. They seem to know more than we do,' Bagley Jr. said in a text message to Obert."

Here's another -

"'I’m just worried about getting better. I’m not worried about reclassifying. I’m just taking it day by day. Whatever happens in the future happens,' he said.

It doesn’t sound like he’s given it much thought and he will probably stay in the 2018 cycle only because every team he would consider already has their class built and may not have room for him. He’s still considering Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, UCLA and USC in his top six."

Not at all surprising that - after the fact - Bagley's Dad is going to act like this was planned all along.

Where are Bagley's transcripts?? See... some ahole coach from a school recruiting him leaked Bledsoe's (which is illegal). That should tell you enough there. Wow, in HS his grades were changed, big deal. Start leaking HS transcripts of D1 basketball and football players and I'm sure that there is nothing unusual to see or "investigate" lol. Just that dirty Eric Bledsoe.

But hey, we've got a kid going to Duke who went to 3 different high schools in 3 years and travels around the country playing basketball and suddenly he graduates high school in 3 years??? Because Duke recruited him first or something? Lol. Sure thing. When someone leaks his transcripts and starts digging around his hometown (which is where?) then we can talk about Eric Bledsoe, until then you can just STFU.

You don't find it noteworthy that neither of them denied it? If they weren't planning ahead he wouldn't have been cleared.

Where has there ever been anything to suggest Bagley has been a questionable student?

It was known in recruiting circles Bledsoe had academic issues after he finally released his transcript to schools interested in him. Duke had been recruiting Bledsoe but dropped their interest after seeing his grades.

Must have been known in "recruiting circles" that Bagley would be hard to get reclassified since that's all media talked about. Did that stop Duke from recruiting him?

You being serious? Anything to suggest Bagley has been a questionable student? Well in the real world people find someone graduating high school in 3 years after going to 3 different high schools all while traveling the country playing basketball "questionable".

PS You know nothing about the details as to Duke or anyone else's recruitment of Bledsoe. You're no "insider" nor is anyone else on the internet you've heard stuff from. Stick to referring to kids who spent 3 years in high school by their twitter handles.

Ask Pete Thamel

Ask Pete Thamel? Why are you being such a bitch about a simple request?

This is Duke fan when backed into a corner.

Why be coy and secretive about it? Why not just say we're working on it and will reclassify if possible.

Let's get real. This isn't just Duke. There are a LOT of rich and powerful people and organizations that wanted to get this done. The NCAA wanted his star power in a big time NCAA school here and not overseas, Nike wanted their superstar high school player at one of their flagship schools, and the NBA wanted to get him in the league asap.

Prove it IS shady.

Or STFU. Pretty simple . . .

I'm not the one here trying to convince people to ignore common sense. Keep trying, though. You're obviously on top of this.

This is why rival fans get run off. You are trying to bullshit your way through a debate against folks much smarter than you.

The BS is in making blind assumptions.

You really think Bagley / Duke is trying to pull a fast one and the NCAA is allowing it? Really?

I have no idea whether Bagley actually did the work or not, or whether his transcript would pass muster at any other school. But, he was going to graduate high school, one way or another, by mid-October. That way he would be draft eligible in 2018 no matter what.

So, he moved it up a couple months. Were the classes legit? Who knows. But I'm sure the NCAA took a long fair *evaporates into the carpet*

I don't think they did. It's quite obvious that's what happened. What you're missing is that most programs would have tried but only a few like Duke, have the NCAA's blessing for such matters.

Unlike Bledsoe, MB3FIVE didn't take Algebra 3 before Algebra 2. Isn't it possible the kid and his family had been doing all the things to make this possible?
More of this Pete Thamel discredited horse crap? Algebra 3 can be taken before Algebra 2 unless a particular school system forbids it. Just for the record I passed Trig ( basically what algebra 3 is) in my junior year and passed Algebra 2 as a senior. The reason I did that was scheduling reasons. It's not even suggestive of fraud.

And seriously dude MB3FIVE?
