Bad C-rod news ...potentially

I have no idea just passing along what I heard. As I have said multiple times you can believe it or not. I'm not sure I believe it myself but do think it isn't related to any sort of legal issue or we would have heard from the media what it is.
JR posted a similar thread today and they know the issue. It seems it is far worse than this. He didn't go further but did say he didn't know the extent of the investigation but that he hopes other players aren't involved

I hope beyond hope that CRod plays this year. However, we changed offenses for a reason. We are not trying to be a straight up power running team unless we have the advantage doing that. CRod's absence will put a little more pressure on Scang, Jutahn, Smoke, and Wright is a nice group of backs to work with.

I have no clue exactly the offense Scang will run. I know they will be throwing it a lot with Levis. I also know when the 49ers went to the SB a few years back they had several games they rushed in the 200 yd range. Alot of their run game was based on the FB and pulling their guards and center. It helped having a couple super fast backs also

Other players, what on earth is the issue. I think we've all had about enough of the cloak and dagger show.

If what I heard is true, you are correct. It was bad and he won’t be back. Did here baker was also involved which is why he is no longer coming here. Nothing substantiated just someone I know in the legal system with what they have heard.

JR and Matt said nobody from the school is talking. JR said he wouldn't report it till more was known. He also said he doesn't think CRod will be eligible to play
So JR said he "wouldn't report it till more was known" but then said "he doesn't think CRod will be eligible to play?" Click bait special. All righty then.

I know the secrecy that is surrounding all of this is the tough part to take for UK fans. I just don't think it's a legal issue, it wouldn't be a secret, he has graduated so I don't see how it could be grades. Not sure what else would result a multiple game suspension or loss of eligibility. Gurly was suspended 4 games for being paid for signing autographs, but that is legal today.

He didn't do an article to click on. He says he won't until there is more info. He only posted on a thread that a lot of posters were speculating what was going on and tried to stop a lot of the nonsense. He said he wouldn't report anything or do a write up until after the investigation but it was bad. I put he doesn't think, but the way I read that he actually said he won't play this year.

Is this like a Lloyd Tubman situation? Something the University is investigating?

It has to be in-house thing.

With what I heard last night, it is not only a legal issue but a federal law issue (if true).

JR mentioned on HOB that UK did/is investigating. He said he didn't know what the investigation turned up other than it is unlikely he plays next year.

This is all so bizarre. Whatever it is involved a transfer who isn't even on the team, wasn't in Lexington yet? Is it a freaking casino? Or dope dispenser?

Javon Baker, which is why he is no longer coming.

But isn't he headed to Maryland? I will say this about him, Bama fans said he was lazy, disrespectful and a bad influence in the locker room. Now that might just be sour grapes, UF fans claiming he was a 10.8 100m guy which isn't real good for a WR.

He hasn’t landed at Maryland yet, but his offer from UK was pulled which adds merit to him being involved.

Sounds like mail order no no’s if it’s a Federal deal.

Was my thought as well. Putting the fragments together sounds like mail order autograph or memorabilia situation where he maybe had someone ghost sign for him.

Pure speculation of course but also wonder if this all came out of the DUI bond paperwork which showed a much higher income than anyone expected, prompting questions.

But that isn't illegal anymore even before NIL it wasn't a criminal adtivity, why would he be in a mess for accepting money for his signature, unless it's an IRS deal.

I was thinking more along the lines of mail order synthetics. The kind college kids like to take at parties.

Its a crime if they're selling it as his signature but it isn't actually his signature. Once it goes into the mail it's a federal matter.

I have no idea about what actually happened it's just trying to piece together possibilities based on fragments of rumors

I guess that is some kind of fraud. Just don't understand how he is drawn into it if he wasn't doing the signing. And if he was part of it why wasn't he doing the signing.

What I heard has nothing to do with mail fraud or signatures. Much bigger than that. Again I am not claiming to know anything that has been validated, rather passing along intel that was shared with me with what some within the legal sector have heard.

If he gave permission for someone else to sign his name, yet knew it would be marketed as his signature - that would be fraud.

Sounds moot. Mail fraud is bad enough but if it's worse.... football might not be his biggest concern

Hmmm I know you don’t want to give too many details. But can you say if what you heard involves a dumb mistake of some kind or if it’s more nefarious than that? Is it an allegation of a sensitive nature?

If somebody says anything about having sources, they’re already discredited in my book.

1. because they’re most likely full of shit
2. If they really do have one then they’re helping a rat who’s leaking info about the team.

either way, screw off with the sources
If crod has been charged with something it’ll be public record. Unless the DA or commonwealths attorney (if felony) summons a grand jury I won’t believe anything

We have one of the most aggressive compliance departments in the nation.

There would be no need for NCAA investigators if everyone self reported or asked forgiveness from NCAA like UK Athletic Dept.

We open our players up for suspensions and long drawn out eligibility decisions from the NCAA by self reporting issues that other schools turn a blind eye to.

In this era of NIL, other than academic eligibility, the rest of the NCAA rules are out the window for most schools.

Not UK.

Secretaries, wifes, girlfriends, brothers, sisters, etc, etc, etc have been signing for athletes for decades. If someone is all of a sudden cracking down on that stuff they're opening a virtual unproveable issue.

Rules, I don't think there are any rules. Schools are tampering, a couple Florida ACC teams have had NIL deals a couple of our guys who didn't enter the portal. I don't know how much ATM paid for their 22 class, Texas was offering OL 50k to sign, UT paid 8m for a QB.

TN's $8M QB looks like Snoop Dogg, meth included.
