2025 U.S. Open Golf Championship

I try not to get on guys for much. But I’m perplexed by Rory the last month or so. You would think his attitude for a year would be sky high. You win the Masters you join the grand slam club, I’m just surprised by a few of his actions after the big Masters win. It doesn’t make sense.

That is some heavy rain. Might take some time to dry out after it passes.

Rahm in at +4 and that might get in as Playoff Number. Feel a +2 will win

MacIntyre posting a +1 could be enough. Dropping like flies.

Spaun with the win … he’s been steady all week

Now that's the way to finish a US Open. Sink a 64-foot putt to seal the deal.

JJ would have been a footnote type of champion like Michael Campbell and others but that putt immortalized him in US Open history.

The guy cards a bogey on 5 of his first six holes, shoots a 40 on the front nine and still winds up winning by 2 strokes.

I didn't watch any of the US Open. I have no idea who JJ Spaun is, but that was one awesome putt.

Dude was steady, kept the ball on the fairways and greens for the most part all week.

Yes he did. But he had some of the absolute worst bad beats on 2/3 of them. The shot that hit the flag stick and rolled 70 yards off the front of the green. would more than likely been a birdie. It would have skipped past the hole, checked up, and spun back down to the flag. Truly a game of inches.

As I stated previously, when Scheffler is off, it is because his drives going left, and missing short putts. He is better from 10-12 feet than he is 5 feet. Saturday he missed several inside 5 feet. Usually he has a knack for saving par when struggling, but not this weekend. Saturday he left 2/3 birdies on the course. Can't do that, but especially at a place like Oakmont.

^SS was so far "off" he only finished 7th. Terrrrrrrrrrrrible. Ranking should fall to #101.

Well, he said that exact same thing HIMSELF. That his missed some putts he should have made. If you watched and didn't notice he missed several putts he normally makes, I don't know what to tell you. Never said he was FAR off, just did some things not normal for his high standards.

I actually thought at first JJ got a little pissed at Victor for taking so long on his approach shot and even his putt. Rain started pouring down and JJ had a look on his face standing in the fairway, maybe I just thought wrong but it sure looked like he was getting impatient.

I've never understood this par thing. One week one guy can best it & the next week half the field is beating it. Seems to me it has no standard meaning such that you can call it whatever you want.

If by 10 yards "off the green" we are talking fairway / fringe, then yes. I didn't mention in a bunker, or in the rough. Just putt everything. Obviously the most challenging would be par 3's. Three putts would be pretty standard for the average golfer. The par 4 and 5's is where you would gain strokes. Also factoring in pin placement. If 10 yards off the green but opposite side of the flag, it could be difficult.

I’m an 18 H.
But my putting is pretty good, especially lag putting and 3-footers. I’m probably more average on mid-range (6-20’) putts. My chipping and bunker play is solid too. I just suck off the tee.

Maybe I would 3-putt half the holes, for 45 total putts. But I’d probably tee off with 7iron, to limit my shots from the rough and avoid penalty strokes; accepting it would take me an extra shot on every par 4 & 5. So think I could score 120-140.
