Kentucky to Play All Four Final Four Teams in 2025 Non-Conference Schedule

Wildcats announce 2025 non-conference schedule Tuesday afternoon



LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Volleyball team announced its 2025 non-conference schedule Tuesday afternoon, highlighted by matches against all four final four teams from 2024 and three showdowns inside of Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington.



Kentucky will play Ohio State in its exhibition match on Saturday, August 23 in Lexington as the Wildcats and Buckeyes meet in a preseason tune-up ahead of the regular season opening day on August 30. UK will open its regular season in Nashville against the Lipscomb Bisons on Aug. 31 ahead of the Broadway Block Party Sunday afternoon against Nebraska inside Bridgestone Arena on ABC at Noon in a previously-announced match-up.



Week two of the season will see UK travel to the home of the 2024 national champions, Penn State as the Wildcats will play PSU in State College on Sept. 5 and New Hampshire on Sept. 6 in the commonwealth.



In the third week of the non-conference schedule, UK will make the trip to Ft. Worth, Texas to face off against the Pitt Panthers in the Shriners Children’s Showdown at the Net ACC/SEC Challenge in another previously-announced match-up that will air Sept. 10 on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. ET.



The Wildcats will play their first home match on Sept. 13 as part of a tournament with two other nationally-seeded teams from 2024 and Houston as UK plays host to SMU on Saturday and then faces Houston on Sept. 14.



The final week of non-conference action sees Kentucky play at Louisville, UK’s fourth 2024 final four opponent in four weeks, on Sept. 18 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville before closing out the week Sept. 20 against Washington on Saturday afternoon in Lexington in HMC.



In addition to the previously-announced match times, more match times will be added as the 2025 television schedule is finalized later this summer. Season tickets will go on sale early in the summer, so fans are asked to check UKathletics.com/tickets and the Kentucky Volleyball social media accounts for information on how to acquire tickets to regular season matches in Historic Memorial Coliseum.



Kentucky’s SEC schedule was released last month, and like the non-conference schedule, times and TV assignments will be announced later this summer.

Anyone feel like this spring is the new normal for KY and with the next 3 weeks showing nothing but showers and daily chances of rain. Seems something has changed from the normal we were used to. Not even gonna have a true summer this year and my garden is drowning.

Another poll that has us underrated. This past season we had an NCAA record 8 wins against Top-15 teams. We beat a Final Four team in Duke, we beat the national champions Florida Gators. If it wasn't for an unbelievable number of injuries, we were a Final Four team. Fast Forward to next season. We will be bigger, deeper & more talented than last years team. Our team next season will be so deep with quality players 1 thru 14 that we can withstand a few injuries. Any poll that doesn't have us ranked in their top 3 or 4 teams has us underrated.
