OT: Friday Fun Challenge...

I note in today's Bracketology that Arkansas is on the "last four in" line and UNC-Cheats and Indiana are on the last four out line...

So, imagine you can pick TWO teams to miss the Dance and ONE has to be in. WHO do you pick?

I actually had a lot of trouble with this. I have hated UNC since Dean Smith and the four corners, and all the hypocrisy over the "Carolina Way" when everyone knew they were cheating back to the Frank McGuire days. And I hate them more since the AF-AM scandal. But when I was a boy, Indiana and its fan base was the MOST hated rival for Kentucky, and I haven't lost that. Then there is Calipari, and how sweet it would be to see the Razorbacks totally flop after all their yapping last spring, summer and fall....

In the end I went with: OUT: UNC-Cheats and Arkansas. IN: Indiana. Only because IUse2Bee has essentially already fired Woodson and it would somehow make them look even more clumsy and incompetent to have a surge after he was dumped...

SEC Tournament Double Bye & Possible 3-Seed - Kentucky's Path

Here is the path. It's this simple. Kentucky wins the tiebreaker over Texas A&M, Tennessee and Missouri (with a head-to-head win). Kentucky would win a tiebreaker if they have the same league record as Florida.

March 1st

Kentucky over Auburn
Texas A&M over Florida
Vanderbilt over Missouri
Alabama over Tennessee

March 4/5th

Kentucky over LSU
Mississippi over Tennessee
Auburn over Texas A&M
Oklahoma over Missouri
Alabama over Florida

March 8th

Kentucky over Missouri (A&M gets LSU and Tennessee gets South Carolina, but Kentucky wins the tiebreaker)
Mississippi over Florida

For a team of "non-stars" ...

... We sure have had a lot of all-time great performances out of these guys.

Lamont Butler going nuclear against Louisville, perfect from the field.

Amari Williams' statistically historic effort against Vandy.

And now, the "Oweh game."

Not to mention huge individual efforts at various points from Jaxson, Kobe, Carr -- hell, even Trent Noah and Travis Perry in their own way.

A lot of people looked at this roster and saw a lot of role players, even "good players," but no stars. Yet it seems someone is turning in a historic game in just about half the ganes we've won this year ... and it's alwats someone different.

I just think that's really cool. What a team this is. I have no idea how the postseason will turn out but I hope for their sake as much as my own as a fan that they're able to put all that together and do something magical.

Vietnam War Protest at UK- The burning down of the ROTC building

Anyone familiar with this? All I can find are some pictures online and an incomplete news story in the Herald-Leader with end of the world headlines about it being set ablaze. My parents were in married student housing (with me on the way) close to where Kroger Field is now. It doesn't look like anyone was ever arrested. My Dad passed away more than 20 years ago but my Mom brought it up and told me her parents were scared because she was pregnant and thought maybe she should come home. The same thing happened that day at the University of Alabama.

SEC Awards

Didn't see a thread on this and maybe Im a homer, but I find it hard to believe only Oweh made an SEC awards list.

UK softball 2025 thread

Watched 4 games in Clearwater this weekend . Fun team , I like the players but the roster has some big holes . Need a shut down hard thrower and a bigger run producer somewhere in the lineup .. just an opinion but might be Coach Lawsons weakest roster in the past few years . Large % of teams have a #1 throwing way harder than anyone we have . Speed isn’t everything but it’s hard to survive at 60-62 in the SEC .
Hopefully some fast pitch lovers out there to keep some discussion going on for our Lady Cats . Rough weekend , we didn’t generate much Offense outside the Clemson game and we nearly blew a late 4 run lead in that contest .
