No No

Razorback Gage Wood throws a no hitter against the Racers, one hbp otherwise perfect game. Was some controversy in the 9 th, he hit a batter but after originally awarding first base on review they ruled that the batter moved into the pitch so he was ruled out! announcers and this viewer were very very surprised at the ruling! Take nothing from the pitcher though, a great game by him!

FB Recruiting Update on a commit...

Tells CI that he will probably go down to visit Ole Miss for a game in Oxford this fall. No more details. He has not said that he's wavering from Kentucky and when he committed, in fact, I believe he indicated that he might not be done taking visits so we've known it would be a situation where they have to continue to recruit him.

On the other hand, Hunter has been enthusiastically recruiting for Kentucky, feels some loyalty because of their early involvement, and there's the family history.

Still, at the end of the day, UK probably needs to show strides on offense under Hamdan in his second year with someone like Kiffin making a play given that track record.

Hunter told CI that he is still locked in with Kentucky.

Kentucky title odds

This is a question to the people who may bet more frequently than I do.

I was looking at NCAA title odds for 26, and Kentucky is listed at +1800. The way I think about it, there are like 5 teams with a realistic and approximately equal chance of winning the tournament, us being one. Add in some outlier events, maybe the odds would be like +800, +900?

Am I crazy or is +1800 on Kentucky a good bet? I am not going to be a lot but I was just wondering if the experts think it’s worth it.

SGA Contract Potential

Copied from Google: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder star, is eligible for a massive contract extension after winning the NBA MVP award. He can sign a four-year, $293 million extension this offseason, or a five-year, $380 million extension in 2026. The five-year extension is a supermax deal and would make him one of the highest-paid players in NBA history, according to Sports Illustrated.

Wow….
That’s just crazy money. It’s amazing that the owners can pay this kind of money and still make money. #mindblown

Collin Chandler struggles to pinpoint an exact time during his freshman season at Kentucky when things started to click once again on the basketball court.

Chandler, who was a four-star prospect and Utah's "Mr. Basketball" after averaging 21.7 points at Farmington High School, found the transition to major college basketball challenging after spending two years in Africa as part of his Latter-day Saint mission before following Mark Pope to Lexington.

Midway through he 2024-25 season, it appeared he may be getting lost in the shuffle of Pope's deep and talented UK roster, but a series of injuries in the backcourt opened the door for a bigger opportunity to play.

Chandler finished the season with modest overall numbers but scored 57 of his 82 points in the Cats' final 11 games and made 12 of his last 23 attempts from the 3-point line after starting the season at 5-for-26. He played a key role in NCAA Tournament wins over Troy and Illinois, scoring 15 points, going 4-of-7 from the arc, and recording four steals.

"I feel like there's a lot that BBN didn't see in my journey of getting back and feeling comfortable and feeling confident," Chandler said Monday during a summer Q&A session at the Craft Center. "There's a lot that went into that."

PG2? Jasper Johnson or Denzel Aberdeen?

I know this has been discussed some already, but I don’t remember the particulars; and I was thinking about it again today and hoping to get some good insight and takes from those here (outside of the coaches and players, I figure this is probably the best place to get good opinions and explanations on the pros and cons). I think Johnson and Aberdeen are the two top candidates for PG2 behind Lowe; and I think PG2 is a very important spot for next year even if Lowe is healthy all season. So who would you guess should be PG2 just on what you’ve seen or read regarding these guys?

For example, who do you think has the better handle? Who is a better distributor? Who is a better driver? Who is a better floor general and leader? Those kind of things.
