It’s inevitable

We need to look only to the future, but it’s impossible not to compare it to our past. I know so many are sick of hearing Cal’s name, but to know where we are now you have to look at the past.

Being 8-1 with two top 10 wins in the first month would’ve been thought impossible with Cal. He would’ve had athletes, but they would’ve been young and would’ve lacked experience to face this kind of adversity we’ve seen already. Let’s not forget Ga St hit us in the mouth and these veteran players responded winning by 30. There’s a very good chance a Cal coached team loses to Georgia St.

When it comes to coaching, it didn’t exist. Cal is a fraud and should’ve never been inducted into the HoF. I stand strongly by that. Amazing recruiter, but cannot coach his way into an Olive Garden. No adjustments, no defensive changes, no offensive ran plays. The man hated calling timeouts in close, late game situations. What we saw last night was special coaching. I have an issue with how Pope sees the first half, but it can’t be denied how amazing he is at coaching and getting his players to by in.

Where is the yelling? It’s non-existent. Pope encourages his players from the bench and observes. He checks to see how his players are executing his plans and takes notes. Idk if this is new, I’ve never seen it before, but on the bench I see assistants sitting with the players. Instead of all the coaches being on one side and the players on the other, they’re all mixed together and the coaches are still coaching.

With all that said, it’s annoying… but we’ve gotta look at the past to gauge where our future is. This is special. This is a breath of fresh air. We needed our program back and we’ve got it. Pope embraces the fans, doesn’t fight us. He embraces the culture, he doesn’t try to redefine it.

We’re back boys. Enjoy it!

Naughty politician alert! (Washington state version)

Glamorous female lawmaker, 30, 'bullied male aide into sex then made him run her errands'

A glamorous Washington state lawmaker bullied a male aide into sex, then made him run her errands and tried to fire him when he reported her, a lawsuit claims.
Emily Clouse, 30, is said to have begun a 'mutually consensual dating relationship' with the unnamed man after being elected as a commissioner in Thurston County, which includes the state's capital of Olympia.
But the aide alleges he felt unable to reject Clouse's advances because of the power she held over him and says he found the romance 'increasingly unwelcome.'

Dream Scenario

Clemson wins tonight. SMU stays in the CFP and knocks out Bama/SCar. UT, UGA, and Tennessee lose im their first CFP matchups.

Then I get to laugh at the weeping Finebaum Social Media Army. "But, but....SEC! 😭"

I can't take these clowns anymore. I would much rather watch SMU, Boise St, and Arizona St get their shot all day than watch some 3-loss SEC team that should being playing in the Citrus Bowl.

I hate Ohio State as much as the next guy, but Conference Homer Guy has shot right up the chart the last few weeks.

Looking old and antiquated ?

I know that many on this board are youngsters and don’t have a lot of memories to fall back on. My take on the game last night was this, When Joe Hall took over for Adolph Rupp he made his brand of basketball look old. Same thing happened to Hall when Denny Crum brought his style of play. Then along comes Rick Pitino and he makes Dennys style look outdated. Then Calipari introduced us to one and done which was a gimmick because he doesn’t have a title unless Doron Lamb and Jones doesn’t come back. That made Rick Pitinos basketball look old. Now Mark Pope is making Calipari and Mark Fews style of basketball look outdated! Having said all this is a long winded old man’s way of saying, folks we got us a ball coach now !

1-3-1 zone, then switch to man-to-man after the first pass!

I’ve watched a shit ton of college basketball games in my time. And I’ve never seen that done before. It sure seemed odd when they started doing it. But it worked so well. Took the Zags out of their offensive rhythm. Freaking brilliant move by Pope and his staff. And hats off to the team for executing it so well.
