Believe it was Nick Roush who mentioned it first yesterday, checked in and believe they stand a good chance.

Someone Daikiel Shorts recruited for a long time and I was a bit surprised when he didn't commit earlier. I thought he was supposed to commit to Kentucky the first time he made a decision but that fell apart.

Was thinking that they would be wrapped up at wide receive but if they can pull that flip off then it would make sense because he's someone they liked early on in the process. Will have more on him soon.

Just saw that Tennessee RB Khalifa Keith is entering the portal- a little blast from the past. Keith was commited to UK for a long time before flipping to UT before signing day. Looks like hes played in 15 games over 2 years for the Vols but hasnt gotten many carries in his career so far. Had 21 carries this past year for 100 yards & a TD but he did average 4.8 ypc.

Clearly UK needs an RB from the portal. I have no idea if Keith would be the guy but the previous relationship is there.

but this is getting ridiculous … I have supported CMS and appreciate what he has done, but WTF? I assume the Craft’s and other mega donors didn’t get rich by being stupid, and that they are not blindly just willing to throw away money with the hope or expectation that CMS can right the ship. I believe there are many reason we are in the position we are in, and maybe even accept that NIL is one of, if not the major cause, but this can’t continue if UK football is to survive. It just seems to me that continuing on the course we are on indicates that Dr. Capiluto, Barnhart, and our major donors are willing to throw UK football to the wolves. I’ve been a major football first fan since Coach John Ray, and while there is no true comparison, this is as bad as it has been since Joker. It seems to me that we are just throwing in the towel. There is zero chance Stoops can fix this and to me that seems crystal clear and obvious🤬

When he’s not in the game we struggle. Krissa just not very fast, athletic, and is questionable with the ball in his hands. We really need a back up point guard in a bad way.

When I mentioned Monday The Unforgettables lost to unranked Pitt in one of their first contests defending their #4 ranking, they lost by 18.

At home.

They had all been playing together for three years except for JAMAL MASHBURN who was in his second year.

Mark Pope to his credit is treating this as a tragedy that needs to be fixed at all costs. That’s his reaction to losing by four points amidst a shooting drought in his first road game with a team he had literally less than two months to put together from scratch before the portal dried up, and with a late start to begin with. Anyone who needs more than that from him has an agenda or emotional problems.

The bad.

We played bad in all facets.

Shooting was bad. If we aren’t hitting a good clip of 3s it’s going to be some grinders.

The bench was almost unplayable except for Brea. Kriisa and Garrison just killed us. Afraid depth will be an issue. I’d rather had Robinson or Oweh run the point some.

Williams is doing too much and handling the ball too much. He’s a on the block and a putback guy. Same with Garrison.

Brea sat too much in the 2nd half.

Bad subbing and lack of some adjustments. For such an analytical guy I’m suprised the first half +/- wasn’t addressed. I would’ve liked to see Carr at the 5 with four shooters. I know Carr didn’t play well but it worked against Duke.

The Good

The rotation is more clear.

Rebounded better in 2nd half.

Played quite bad and still was in the game in a hostile environment.

We won’t shoot this bad every game. Three games is plenty.

Former Wisconsin commit ends up signing with the Cats. Someone they liked early and throughout the recruiting class.

I dont look every day, but last time I remember we were 12th and this morning we are 11th. Cincinnati losing to Villanova, and not being good, may have finally started their slide down and a few teams all slid up.

This was an eye opener to a few players and the coaches. They won’t wanna lose 2 in a row. There will be some urgency from the tip. Amari Williams showed down the street that he can be a force down low when his head is in the game. Players will cut harder to get open of the 3 point line in choked off. Lamont butler is quickly becoming the best player on the team and I think pope see’s now that has has to play 15 minutes a half. Krissa just simply brings nothing if the there isn’t a huge talent gap with our opponents. Pope will also see that he’s gotta get Brea more shots. He should be taking no less than 4-5 shots a half. Almonor and Otega just need to keep doing what they’re doing and start making those wide open looks again. The defense will be fine. Top 25 in fg percent defense, that’s good enough if paired with a top offense. We will be fine. Zags better come to play bc I know the cats will.

This was a very, very, very tough first road game for a group of guys who had played a total of 7 games together. And to have an off night from the perimeter and still lose by only 4 is pretty amazing.

Some of you need to make a pact with yourselves and wait 24 hours before posting. You're angry and disappointed and someone must be called out and pay for it. But these guys played hard and nearly overcame the crowd, a few questionable calls, several unlucky bounces, and an extremely hungry Clemson team. Believe me - they're WAY more angry and disappointed than you are!

I'm playing the long game. I'm looking forward to seeing how good we are once conference play starts.
