I started watching the replay of the Arizona St v Kansas St game from 2/23/25, it's the game where he tore his ACL an I haven't been able to find the injury clipped anywhere so I wanted to see if I could find when it happened. But watch the first minute of the game and see who they match JQ up with right out of the gate:

They have him on the PG! I've bought the hype on JQ already but that got me the most excited yet. I assume the goal was to gum up the offense at the point of attack, but also the KState PG Dug McDaniel shot 25% from three this season. So I think JQ's assignment was to basically float around and help out on defense whenever he could. Watch KState's second offensive possession (after JQ assists a basket on the other end). KState PG #0 rotates around to the perimeter and JQ stays back in the paint to ward off a drive from the opposite corner. KState misses the jumper. Keep watching and you'll see him all over the court on defense.

If you're curious about the injury, it happens at roughly the 5 min mark of the second half (start at 53:51 in the video, btw it's not gruesome). The ball gets knocked into backcourt, he chases it down and then drives all the way to the basket where he either plants weird or gets bumped and lands awkwardly. He's in pain but not like you sometimes see after those bad knee injuries. They cut to commercial so you don’t see him get up, but it looks like he stayed on the bench the rest of the game. That seems to line up with his father saying it was a partial tear, and more reason for optimism he'll make a full recovery and maybe even be ready by September.
