So is Bush H. a good OC or....

Was he able to put up big numbers at BSU because the comp was weak...?

Logo disrespect.

Over the years, we have seen teams stomp on logos and plant flags on logos when they, the visitors, get a big win on a rival’s field. To be sure, it is disrespectful, whether before a game or after.

But, should players and fans take so much offense that they want to fight over a logo?

The team just beat you on your field. They want to celebrate. They go and plant a flag or stomp on your logo. I believe it is poor sportsmanship, but is it worthy of the big mid field post game kerfuffle?

This all seems very silly to me. Just make sure you beat them next time.

I guess most people disagree with me. But, it all seems very silly to me.

FB Recruiting As of right now...

I haven't been able to speak with 4-star UK RB commit Marquise Davis yet, but can confirm he did visit Missouri and it seems like there is some belief they stand a good chance at flipping him.

Kentucky will be in touch with him this evening to gauge where things are at from their perspective but given the cratering of the offense, the scale of the looming questions facing the program, and the fact he visited before NSD, you can't feel too great.

That would be a major blow to the future of the room. Remember at one point they had Davis and Isaiah West (Ohio State) committed. To lose out on both guys this late would mean it's impossible to replace them from the HS level.

On a bigger level, Wilcox will have some interest from P5 programs if he were to go into the portal. He has had some issues in the program beyond running the football effectively and I don't think there is a whole lot of confidence in the ability to be a consistent RB1 next year there.

You can't count on Chip giving them much because of how his year went and DSK is solid but probably not a guy to headline the backfield in the SEC. So there's still a real possibility they are shopping for a portal RB this year. We should have known it would be an issue this year given the line's lack of talent and the fact the coaches identified the RB room as a real question in the preseason.

Vince Marrow

I just read where he said we have had one bad season in the past 8 - That is an outright lie. We have had three bad seasons in a row. the one 10 win season we had we had to forfeit those wins. Its easy to be down right now and to see the cup half empty. I guess I am venting from three days of taking it from Louisville fans in the city that I live in.

Is Vince Marrow as good as we have all thought he was? How many stellar Tight Ends has he developed in the room that he brags about all the time? Granite they have to block due to our porous o line, but still. Over the long haul how many great Tight Ends ends has he developed? He is supposed to be a great recruiter, and i guess you could say that he has been a solid recruiter. on paper, we have had top 30classes alot of years. BUT we are in the SEC, and that still ranks in the bottom four or so. With that said with these recruiting classes most years what have we done with them? Mostly lose to teams in the SEC, and beat the teams that we are supposed to beat. I think he is just a BULL Shat artist mostly... just my opinion..

Many younger fans i hear say that Stoops is the best coach we have ever had. I like Coach Stoops and I think he is a solid football coach.. not great.. just solid. However name me one other coach in our history that has had the money put into the program that he has had? He has gotten almost everything he has asked that other coaches did not get. Coach Brooks teams were far more prepared to play most games than Stoops teams (with far less talent). Could Joker have been better had he gotten the resources and support that Stoops got ( remember the card table in the back of the room for the recruits back then, and the hole in the indoor practice facility that they wouldn't fix for him?) Jerry Claiborne teams played a MUCH harder schedule EVERY year, and his teams never laid down like we saw Saturday. I think Joker was in over his head, but i am just making a point that Coach Stoops has gotten everything that he has asked for. Still we have to listen to him bitch about his job being hard!

I give this staff a less than 5% chance of turning this thing around. No other team in the SEC would put up with these results. Perhaps Vandy would, but even they have gotten really serious about winning. We are going to give this staff one more year to turn this around. We are going to go 3-9 or 4-8 next year, get our arses handed to us by UL again and then make a change. Same ol Mitch too far behind the curve to be aggressive when he needs to be. We will most likely miss out on Jon Sumrall, and im sure Mitch will make a good , nice conservatives hire that will keep us in the bottom half of the SEC. We love spending that SEC revenue every year, but wont play like the big boys do when a change is needed. If we dont have the 40plus million to buy these guys out then maybe we are not allocating our money we are making each year wisely. NO OTHER sec team would allow their program to falter like this without doing everything they could to turn it around. Stoops aint turning this around. We all know it...

sorry for the rant.. i am angry about something i dearly love.

By April most on here will be drinking the blue koolaide again

I have seen it too many times. A few assistants will be fired . Their replacements will supposedly be the best in the business. We will be told Transfers that come in will be the second coming of Benny Snell , Josh Allen, etc. Once again we will get our hopes up. Season tickets sales will be ok based on hope springing eternal.

We will probably go 7/5 and go to a bowl game .

Stoops Contract?

Does anyone know the process that led to the totally lopsided Stoops Contract?

Was there any oversight? Board of Trustees review/approval? UK President review/approval?

How could Barnhardt have sold this deal to a bunch of people with suposedly UK's best interest at heart? This whole deal needs to be brought to light and wholesale changes made.

Conference Championship Weekend ATS

Gonna take my mind of UK football for a few minutes and ponder this weekend's games. I like these matchups and the fact that they mean so much more now. My early picks against the spread:

UNLV (+4) vs Boise St
Army (+5.5) vs Tulane
AZ St (-2.5) vs Iowa St
Texas (-2.5) vs UGA
Oregon (-3.5) vs. Penn St
Clemson (+3) vs. SMU

If I were forced at gun point to place a larger wager on one of them, I think it would be Oregon. I don't think Penn State has an offensive solution to work against that defense, and Oregon is not giving up that #1 spot. I say Oregon, 35-14.

Who ya got?

Thinking about the offense

Let me first say that I'm an admitted football novice, I know enough to understand what's going on but no clue on blocking assignments etc. Given that to me it all comes down to line play, I'm not sure how you can assess the TE, RB, WR, QB, or the OC with how bad the line has been.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this but poor line play just filters through the other position groups.

Tightends were forced to stay in and help the line protect which means they had limited opportunities to be targeted in the passing game.

Same for the running backs, DSK's strength is catching ball out of the backfield and he was basically an extra offensive lineman on passing downs.

Wide receivers and BVG, when you have 3 guys in a route and 7 guys in coverage it makes for a difficult environment. Teams could pressure us without blitzing.

Bush may be a complete moron, I have no idea but I'm not sure how you can judge him based on this season. Admittedly, I could be way off but I would love to hear from you football guys.

We were right about cal, we’re right about Stoops

We’re not just some group of fans who are entitled or have unrealistic expectations. We’re smart enough to know what’s happening and realize we’ve seen this movie before. We know when someone has peaked and when there is a downward trajectory.

Treating us like we’re idiots is even worse now. Wishful thinking… I’ll have my butt in the office tomorrow… now Vince telling us Jager is a good Olinemen and only taking 3 from the portal. Telling us there is massive change coming, but keeping the same exact staff. Don’t treat us stupid… we may not be able to spell, but we know UK sports.

We wanted you to leave so we can still appreciate what you did for us. You’ve gone too far. Now you’re really turning us against you, the staff, and this will end like Cal. We will despise you.

We are an offensive juggernaut

Bored and just stat browsing.

1st in scoring at 96.7 ppg.

the gap between us and 2nd place(Penn State at 91.9) is bigger than the gap between 2nd and 13th.

7th in 2pt %
9th in Efg%
7th in true shooting percentage
2nd in assists per game
3rd in a/to ratio
2nd in scoring margin

Also 2nd in Defensive rebounds per game and 25th in defensive rebound %.

17th in defensive efficiency
10th in opp 3pt %

I’ll say this, we’ve now gone 3 years in a row with poor play at the safety postion. It’s gotten progressively worse and this year was abysmal. Out of positon. Bad angles. Lack of eye discipline. Just a complete reversal of what we saw earlier in the Stoops era.

As for corner, Hairston was really good when healthy, but they didn’t have a single guy emerge that was capable of being a true #2 corner in the SEC. JQ Hardaway ain’t it. Jantzen Dunn ain’t it. DJ Waller still at da club. T. Nichols had his moments. This spot looks problematic once again next Fall with Hairston headed to the draft.
