This.Defense 1st half, C-.
Defense 2nd half, A+ (this is why we won)
There is no substitute for desire and effort. I think these veteran players know and understand this. The reward is in the effort.Offense - B-
Defense - B
Effort - A
Coaching: B+
Overall - B
I didn't even think we played that great of a game...and that's a very, very good thing.
Good observations !! We will definitely need more movement and screens against the better teams, because we only appear to have two (2) players who can consistently get to the basket against strong defensive pressure off the dribble: Butler and Oweh. We'll have to get the easy buckets off of cuts and great passing. We can certainly do that, I think.Going forward Pope has to be thinking about running more motion and screens to get more open looks for our shooters. At times our offense became stagnant and that’s when we started falling behind. Duke really guarded the three point line well and other teams will try to do the same.
I’d really like to see him work on some zone defense just for Arkansas because we all know Cal teams suck against it.
Great win!!
Sorry for your losses and prayers sent for this one. My dad passed away from Colon cancer that had taken over his liver back in January of 2018. My dad was a huge UK fan as well, he shaped me into the fan I am today. The night before he passed we had all of the family and a number of friends all crammed into his hospital room spilling out into the hallway. It was the night UK came back from 17 down to beat West Virginia. We all watched that game by his side. He couldn't speak at that point, but was definitely tuned into the game and we like to think the Good Lord didn't want him going without seeing them win one last time. My Mom, My two sisters and myself stayed bedside with him all that night after the rest had left. He was transferred to a hospice bed the next morning where he passed later that day. That's a memory I will always carry with me though.Just talked to my friend, a huge UK fan. He watched the game. I'm overwhelmed. He seemed so happy. I'm in tears...
You listen to announcers? How cute? How is that possible because all I heard from the ESPN talking heads all night long was how deep that Duke was.
So you are saying even Mountain Lions know Tennessee sucks and want out?
That is a very good point, but we hit 40% as a team 10-25. Might be unrealistic to shoot much better than that every night.…3 pointers Brea and Jackson only made 2 combined. So for people saying if Duke had only hit more 3s….chew on that fact
