Where is the guy who said big Deone doesn’t get held ?

I said it’s a shame Big Deone is an interior rusher for us.
He gets held mercifully, but officials let it go because the crowd can’t see it.
When edge rushers get held the whole stadium sees it and they are forced to Call it.
His reply:
Good lord, already complaining about officiating. Deone doesn’t get held more than anyone else.
Can someone with tech skills post a clip from YouTube with 1:34 seconds left in the first quarter? A still photo would be hilarious as well.
Deone flys past his man. The dude with both hands jumps on Deones back. With his legs wrapped around him as well. Deone carry’s him 3 yards on his back and collapse's at the QBs feet. Should have been a sack.
The funniest thing is you can see the official standing there staring right at the play. I paused my TV to still and it’s hilarious the dude hanging on deones back from behind. Piggy backed him 3 yards.

We Are A Bad Match Up for South Carolina

Oh he will. You can tell he hates beamer. That said we are a game sc absolutely has circled and will be massively up for. Just remember last year they flew in the sandman guy just for our game. That tells you how much focus they have on us.

At the same time theyre all in on beating us, we're trying to take the next step by beating Georgia and UT.

So its a dangerous situation. Not just a trap game but a trap program so to speak.
Our D wont allow for a let down.

POLITICAL THREAD

Not only is it completely absurd its totally unworkable. Your point about unrealized loss deduction is the biggest. Guarantee they wont want to allow that but i can't think of any other current concept that lacks the balance of the deduction in the event of a loss. Without that deduction opportunity i don't know that its constitutional, but admittedly i don't know much about constitutional issues as applied to tax or revenue law/code.

Also - are you taxed on it once? Or every year till its actually realized? Who even placed value on such items or investments?

Its a gigantic boondoggle from every angle except political pandering to the insane far left.

There’s a bunch of bullshit in their plan that allows you to defer and pay a penalty if you’re illiquid, etc. I haven’t taken the time to read the actual details. Would have been nice if the Roberts courts would have defined realization as a necessary component of taxable income when they had the chance over the summer. Instead, we get to deal with this bullshit.

Maybe the biggest off-season move…

Not sure about 'OL was awful at pass blocking' - Brock seemed to have time to throw pretty often. He was good about extending plays, stepping up/out in the pocket, rolling out and still looking downfield. I was very pleased with OL performance. Wolford may not be the coach that Schlar was but he's renowed as a great recruiter. Think he'll prove to be a big step up over Yenser. And, 'Alabama's OL underperformed all year'? The same Bama that made the CFP playoffs? With a poorly performing OL? I don't think so. Maybe didn't dominate every single game but they did fine, imo.
There were several instances where a block was missed on the edge. And I don't just mean that someone wasn't assigned that lineman. I mean a Sunbelt team had ends outrun or beat our tackles. Then there were several plays where defensive linemen just completely came clean. Lines need time to gel. I get that, but to have Southern Miss dudes in an SEC backfield as often as they were isn't something I like to see.

I will say I'm incredibly happy with the lack of penalties and the run blocking so far. That's fair praise.

Agree, but on the flip side if Stoops doesn't have a case of the red ass after last year's game(very likely that is the case) he should be run out of town. We owe those clowns a beating for turning a good season into an average one.

Odds on the first coach that gets fired

Chip Kelly could very well hang some hardware in Columbus or at least be in the picture near the end of the season. He will inevitably be on a lot of call lists.

I know he left a good HC gig because he didn’t like all the new era stuff. UF will spend on football, ucla for whatever reason does not even though they’re probably one of the richest schools/alumni bases.

Gators would give him all the resources and staff he wants to keep up with portal and NIL.

Kiffen seems to have found his spot. Ole Miss will spend and give him everything. Also, he’s the big dog. I think part of the reason he didn’t last other places is because they were all big brand destinations with big egos. Oxford is a quiet little town without a lot of rings to kiss. Big balls and a little quirkiness works there. They love it.

Oregon OC is another name. Still young though not sure if he’s ready for that.

Will be interesting to watch coaching carousels in the new age. Are we going to see guys stay put or even move down to coordinator or assistant gigs? Are we going to see big money spending programs struggle to get the guys at the top of their list?

Deboer wasn’t Bama’s first choice, and the only reason our BBall team got a guy from Utah Valley state after being poo pooed by multiple coaches, was because he played here.

Aggies, not an elite destination school but willing to spend like one apparently could only attract the Duke and UK football coaches.
